I'm a red cross volunteer and we're learning about seizures, so this video is really helpful, thank you a lot for sharing and bringing awareness to this and keep being awesome :)
Keep the person safe (if it is a Tonic-Clonic) by moving objects and keeping their head free of injury. Move them on their side if possible in case of vomiting, and do be prepared as the person may soil themselves. Petit-Mal (Absence Seizures), again, keep them safe by moving them to a place and get them to sit if possible. Follow the above if they have collapsed. But mostly the person appears to be spacing off, and there is little physicality with it. --- I have Ideopathic Epilepsy, with Ideopathic Migraine that started a month after my first seizure. I have had 11 Tonic-Clonic and dozens of Petit-Mal (is Absence the preferred term?) since. This started in 2006 right out of the blue when I was 31, and I'm on 4 anti-seizure meds. Trust us, they hurt and can seriously mess with memory. If one lasts five minutes or longer GET HELP ASAP as it can cause Status Epilepticus, which can be deadly or cause brain damage.
Even though I had no idea who you were when this first came out, I just feel so included, I can relate to every single thing in this video! And Tesco's is a nightmare for the fire alarms and seizures
I’m 24 and have had tonic-clonic seizures since I was 8. I completely lose Consciousness and fall to the ground, I’ll violently jerk my body and foam from the mouth. They usually last 5 minutes. I just wake up disoriented with people around me asking if I know who and where I am. My worst was falling backwards down the top of the stairs and getting a severe head injury and another I was by myself in a busy parking lot and some random saved me and to this day I still don’t know who that person is. longest seizure was 7 minutes Christmas Day 2016. I usually wake up tired with bruises on my body and an extreme headache and I usually sleep the whole day or two after seizing. I have bitten full chunks of my tongue from biting down when I’m having a seizure. I hope to bring epilepsy awareness because, yes it is scary but you must know the steps to take to make sure the person isn’t harming themselves- with love Kim
mine give me headaches instantly every time. i have absent seizures and my ears ring and my eyes feel strained all day. the best way to remedy that feeling is SLEEP. i have had grand mals and got concussions from them. luckily they are controlled by medicine and lots of vitamins :) I hope ur journey to becoming seizure free is progressing well evie 💜💜💜 lovessss

I was wondering if you’ve ever heard of a thing called conversion disorder. My doctors thought I had it before I got diagnosed with epilepsy, it’s more of a broad term but to sum it up it’s a physical manifestation of anxiety or trauma, that’s all. Also love your videos 💜
i had a seizure when i was at a hotel and was outside i was chilling in the sun and then fell to the ground, i don't remember any thing that happened after. i woke up and then had another one. then I've been good for a while now. but i hit my head and scraped my arms and legs due to concrete. i wasn't breathing for nearing 10 seconds. if i didn't wake up before i hit or went passed 10 i could have died. I'm glad I'm good now.. just scared what would happen again. Ps: Love your videos! Love you hun!
When I was 9 or 10 this lady down the street from me had a seizure on the sidewalk. I was with my friend and I had panicked but my family is full of nurses so I knew what it was. So in a panic I rushed inside and grabbed a pillow and put it under her head and called for my mom. I was in tears half way through. Since then I think I've had a fear of ascent minds for example looking into someone's eyes while they are sleepwalking. Or someone in the middle if a stroke. Gives me the chills just thinking about it.
So basically what my teachers have told me in first aid how to deal with a seizure is to move any danger like if it don't hurt them. Then, put a pillow or something soft under their head so they won't hurt their head and then resure them so they know what is kinda happening at that time. Then you have to time a seizure it can last for 10 to 30 seconds but if it goes past 5 minutes then you need to call an ambulance because it's a serious seizure and then if they wake up thne you need to check if their okay to move because if they hurt somthing it can make it worse if it's okay then you can put them in there recovering thing so you roll them on the there side. And the best thing to do is stay by their side until help is areived and you can not leave them on there own thats dangerous because somthing can happen. So that's the way that the school teched me. Love you, Evie kepp fighing, you got this! Well done, pete. You're very sweet and supportive to Evie Meg!
i have grammal seizures now called tonic clonic seizures n broke my ankle in one n also said i fallen n can't get up. u turn ppl on side n cushion there head bc when u wake up ur eyes hurts n head is pounding n sensitive to sound n light. i went into seizure n fell face first into concrete curb n my gum got pushed above my front tooth n had to have my tooth removed!!
My daughter is 4 and has autism and epilepsy. She is nonverbal and I've always wanted to know what it feels like for her. Her worst one lasted over 20 mins...she wasn't back to her normal for months after that one.... Also I really enjoy your videos❤
Are you prescribed any Med for seizures? Benzos? Pregabs? I've heard you mention Memory Loss, is this Benzodiazapine related. I suffer the same issues. Used them for Anxiety for over 4 years and have a very hazey memory indeed.
The ones where you're going down the stairs and have one feels like you're falling out of time and space. It's the scariest thing. My poor family, friends, loved ones, and my wife especially have all experienced the scariest things. One time I had one while just getting water and my grandma was the only behind me and (bless her huge heart so much) she still tried to catch me even though she knew she couldn't. If you have siezures, you really have to have people that give a sh*t about you, or else it's just so scary.
Hi Evie! I recently discovered that I have Non-epileptic seizures that appeared out of nowhere. The first one I ever had was at a basketball game and I would like to know what I can do to help others around me know what to do and what to do while I'm on public transportation.
7:15 voices in my head ahh!! Oh no wait that's the background of the video..is it Evie's mom..what is it?? I guess it's the music? That was extra Trippy of ya 😉
I dont get like the seizures where my entire body like convulses cos I usually just go like dead still cant breathe and cabt tell anything around me but cos they are ' non existent ' people just think I'm joking
Should a bystander call emergency services if we believe someone is having a seizure and they're not with someone else? I suppose it's always best to call but if we're fairly certain it's a seizure, is it necessary?
Don't suffer from seizures, but I think the answer would be yes call an ambulance, because you don't know if that is their first time having a seizure or not, and you don't know why they're having a seizure
