I personally think player calibre is what matters most and this DD player is terrific. Give him any DD..paper or real..and he'll make it OP.
Good dd players dont torp across team mates.... this guy did it a couple of times where his torps couldve hit friendlies.

@@ronyar7900 European DDs are exceptional Torpedo boats in every way that matters. Ive hit upwards of 24 torps with my Halland Actually did that within the first 20 times I played it... and pretty sure ill quickly beat my 243 k shima game fairly quickly as well.
The Euro DD captain makes the Halland the best pure Torpedo boat in the game... however the player in this video demonstrated a lot of luck in not hitting Allies in this vid.. there was no chat saying hey ... x boat... im torping behind you, dont turn... or hey BB... slow your push/reverse, lll torp that BB coming at you to stop the YOLO/Ram/Driveby. Often times even with good communications/warnings, allies will turn into your torps if you do what this guy did.... so he was exceptionally lucky.

Nah, kamikaze R/Fujin still king of tier 5 DD'S. Torps are extremely fast and DD's themselves are stealthy at 5.4k surface detect
And gremjachschti? This little russian boat is also a king on T5
Gremi isnt what it used to be back when stealth firing was a thing, but its still a well rounded dd and decently strong.. I agree with kamikaze/fujin if there arent any cvs willing to hunt you, its really hard to be killed in those if you play smart and keep stealthy.
also dont forget theres a kamikaze non R also ;)
Visby has 6 km surface detect. Is also great. And 68 kts torps
First game in this ship earlier. 19 torp hits, 107k, most torps I’ve ever hit in a single game
great ship ........ if you run in a wolfpack ...... and the other team are potatoes ........ and the sun is in their eyes ........ and the wind is at your back ....... and no one shoots at you ...... and ...... and ..... a good capt. will make any ship look good.
that last kill was a great ambush.

I thought this ship sucked because every t5 and t6 Pan_european DD I went against in games got slaughtered and in ranked I killed Smalands in my Mino and DesM.
Then I got the ship from the armory and now I know they were just being misplayed.
My first game I landed 12 torps and got 3 kills. The game was a massacre so I had no opportunity to push for more damage and kills.
The t5 is stupid fast for it's tier, the torps are stock reloading every 55 seconds. The turrets traverse slowly, so upgrade that. The gun range is yucky, but the ship is fun! Can't wait to get the t6 with it's three double turrets.
Its not the ships! its the pro player that make them OP. A bad player will not perform any good in a Smolensk and thats a good ship if you now how to play it.
killing dds in minotaur especially radar minotaur that has RPF and built to hunt dds.. not anything to do with the dd players skill level, rather the brokenness of radar range exceeding detectibility. when the dd sees you you pop radar... given minotaurs firepower its a forgone conclusion what happens next.

3425 is all the XP you got from that game? should have been double!!! nice driving, my Visby is not so lucky, lack of smoke makes it an easy target in games with CV
Well this was T4-5 battle, on higher tiers would be harder. But this guy - give him Kamikaze/Fujin and he’ll do the same or even better on T7 battle.

I have this DD. Not very good in capping because of no smoke and gun range but very good in leading your team because of concealment and good torps. It has also good guns but you can use it when no one is shooting at you.
It sucks when you have a game with 2 CVs

@@daemonhunter100 dont forget the low reload.
T5 Visby torps reload in 55 seconds. T6 Vasteras torps reload in 59 seconds. Both do 68 knots with the torpedo module. T7 Skane reloads in 59 seconds and does 80 knots. T8 Oland (?) reloads in 70 seconds, 80 knots and 10K damage.
Fast torps, with a fast reload, damage is low for balance reasons.

Not sure this is a good example of anything... enemy team was a bunch of potatoes who dont shoot at dds.

I don't think its best DD of its tier but strong for tech tree ship definitely a seal club if you division up with kami/gremy.
