#Anytone #578UVIIIPlus #MobileHamRadio Are you looking for a Tri-Band mobile radio that is both analog and digital? Check out the Anytone 578UV III Plus.
Before anyone brings it to my attention, I KNOW I forgot to mention the Bluetooth PPT button. I didn't do this on purpose, I just forget. Let me know if you use any of the Anytone radios and if so, how do you like them.
As the FCC hasn't designated this radio for GMRS, it shouldn't be used this way for transmitting; monitoring the frequencies is fine, though. (That's my legal response.) A Ham license is required only when transmitting on the FCC's Ham license bands whereas for GMRS requires a GMRS license.
I notice in the manual it lists crossband function uhf-vhf and vhf to uhf. Big question is will it do 220-2 meter crossband. I haven't been able to find an answer, any idea? That is the main use I have for this at the current time.
under SETTINGS, RADIO SET, OTHER FUNC there is "Weather Alarm" and "Weather Channel" Weather Channel has 10 choices. Can you explain what they are used for. Thanks
All weather related, such as alerts for weather events. The weather band has several channels to chose from depending on what part of the country you live.
Not sure if you went into the settings to take a look. The WX channels are identified by 1-10 no frequency or how you would listen to them. I started to wonder if this might mean you must program using the CPS channels 1-10 with the freq of your local WX. This somehow would relate to one of the WX channel numbers you would select. Currently I have DMR repeaters/MMDVM hotspot/FM analog repeaters and all the local WX channels and in ZONES in my CPS for channels 1-250 +. Could you tell me how you associate the WX 1-10 with the CPS? Thanks, Ken
That's a personal decision. You can use an HT with an external antenna for your vehicle, but I have always thought this was a pain. However, on the flip-side, you can always have an HT in use in your house as well.
I am trying to find someone to help me figure out how to use it, i am very new in the DMRs and need some guidance as i cant seme to figure out the correct settings

I have this radio and love it so far. Thanks K4SRF.
Glad you enjoy it!
Sir, does this equipment need a hotspot for DMR? Thanks
Yes it does if you do not have access to a repeater.
@@K4SRF Thank you
Thanks PA3CRL
Is a ham license required for this radio or is my gmrs license ok as long as I stick to those channels

So love my 878 I’m considering selling my Yaesu ftm500 I use as a base to get a 578uv3 with the BT01 controller what ya think?
It is a matter of personal choice and which radio you are most comfortable with.

I do not believe it does the 1.25 meter band. We don't have any 220 repeaters here so I haven't attempted.
@@K4SRF it would be used to link 220 input to 2 meter repeater, not use a 220 repeater but I don’t think it can do that after some research anyway.
@@davidwerner3022 I must have mis-read your question, sorry. Yes, the radio will only do UHF/VHF & Air Band, (receive only on the latter.)
Where is best place to buy it? Any cheaper than MSRP of $459?
Try Bridgecom Systems.

Do this radio has a fan attached to the heat sink?
What does it do on turbo on vhf? I'm worried about the vhf/uhf side being weak?
Turbo is the transmit power, turbo being the highest.
@@K4SRF yeah I've heard conflicting stories of some, units producing 60-70 watts vhf and some barely put out 30. What's your vhf performance like
According to the Anytone website, this radio will transmit 10 watts on 220.
So the version 1 is what I'm after I assume
Should I get a HT or a mobile hmm? First dmr

@@K4SRF yeah I have a Anytone 6666 for base 10-11m and a Yaesu ftm 500 dr for a dual hand base.. And a few dual hand ht’s… Havinf a hard time deciding
How is it different from UV Plus?
A few updated features and holds a lot more digital contacts.

I suggest you look to BridgeCom University as they go in depth.
@@K4SRF just checked it out, thank you as i had no idea that something like that was available
How to unlock?
Unlock? As in MOD unlock?
Let me guess, Woodstock?
