@@DayleSong first thanks for your reply,I’ve had the pleasure of following Aurora now for 7 years and seen her live 3 times and seriously I think aurora is incapable of writing a bad song,my friends often ask me this question and jokingly I say the last one for they are for me all amazing but if I were pushed to choose one that for me shows aurora at her best it would be her performance of The River (live in Bergen 2020) its a one of the most emotional performances I’ve ever heard and trust me when you see the tears in her eyes while she performs this you will understand why I believe she is the best live performer ever and why I call her a Genius.would love you to share and react to it-stay safe ❤️
@@DayleSong I can’t pick one performance. But it’s a more recent live of a single song and it’s epic. ruclips.net/video/gUaKBB3k37w/видео.html This is the best recording of it I’ve found, the audio on the rest are not good.
It's cold here in the winter, not the rest of the year. And we do have heating in doors. Btw, Aurora used to cut her own hair and she buys lots of her clothes from econd hand shops. She is very unique, our Aurora.
Hi Lillia53! I love that you embrace Aurora as your own -- like the national treasure she is! And I feel we enter the Norwegian soul when we listen to her! I appreciate her individuality and her 2nd-hand shopping! I enjoy that, too! ;)
The radio station NRK P3 lets the artists play 1 song of their own and 1 cover song. P3 has a list of different songs and the artists can choose a song from this list to cover, but we never get any information on how many songs or which songs are on this list. We don't know exactly how long time they get to prepare but people say at most 1 hour. For her Rasputin cover Aurora wrote in the youtube comments they only rehearsed for ~15min. Aurora done 4 covers this way on P3: 2014-04-29 Miley Cyrus - Wrecking Ball (when she was 17) 2017-04-27 Imagine Dragons - Believer 2018-10-04 Ariana Grande - God Is A Woman 2021-09-09 Boney M - Rasputin The Norwegian Christmas psalm ""Det hev ei rose sprunge" she did on P3 on 2017-12-18 was not one of these spontaneous songs, they talk in the interview about her researching it before, and the host of the show was informed on email, that she was doing it.
Hello einyen1! Thank you for all this information! I would love to hear Aurora's Wrecking Ball! How fun! That's an amazing song to begin with! I'll bookmark them all. And the psalm sounds beautiful. We'll look at reacting to them all!
@@DayleSong Hi Dayle. The Christmas Psalm is the Norwegian version of a very old German Christmas Psalm "Es ist ein Ros entsprungen" (A rose has sprung up) from around 1587. The Norwegian translation was done in 1919. Aurora has done lots of covers, around 28 depending on which you count as full covers. In the Nidarosdomen concert you saw Nature Boy, Walking In The Air and Life On Mars. I highly recommend watching Life On Mars again privately, the version from channel NRK with 4.3M views, it is even better in my and many others opinions. Walking In The Air also has another great version, I'll try to make another comment with "links", but then my comment is often blocked. Other great ones are The Beatles - Across The Universe from channel "triple j" and Massive Attack - Teardrop from the same channel.
@@Einyen Hi einyen1 -- I know Es ist ein Ros entsprungen very well in German and in English. I look forward to hearing her sing it in her native tongue! 28 covers is a lot! Thank you for the suggestions! I look forward to the links if you can get to it.
Hi AryanSigrid! Do you mean Peter's comment about the sound at 09:31? I think he thought she was making the sound by clicking her tongue. Maybe she makes it by snapping her fingers? Or do you mean a different part?
Thanks, guys!! Yes, one of the artist's own songs ... and then the artist chooses from a list and then puts together a cover in the studio over an hour. So, two songs during the session along with an interview.
Hi Greg! That is wild! And Aurora and her band's performance is so tight! It's a great concept and it shows how deeply committed Aurora is to her own artistry to adopt her style into a cover. What is your favorite Aurora song?
I didn't know Aurora covered this song. She did a good job. I'm not a huge fan of Ariana Grande's music, but I absolutely love her "God is a Woman" music video! Love the inclusion of art history, mythology, and imagery. Plus, her insanely good vocals.
Hi Alex! Aurora gives us history, mythology, and imagery so much of the time! I take particular note of that in my reaction to her Exist for Love. I understand Aurora did not know Ariana's song before choosing to cover it simply by reading the title. As Aurora promotes womanhood's own strength, it seemed a natural choice. I think she elevates it!
Great reaction. These covers were selected and she had just a short time to make a cover. Aurora has done several like this including songs by Imagine Dragons and the Beatles. Love how Aurora approaches covers, She has a way of Aurorafy songs. She will even do this with her own songs. I am a fan of another group, The Warning, three sisters from Monterey Mexico, they were invited by Metallica to be on the Black List album with Alessia Cara of Canada. Their cover re-imagining the iconic Metallica song Enter Sandman is as different as Aurora's cover of God is a Woman. Would love your thoughts on there.
Thanks, Nathan! I've bookmarked your recommendation for consideration. I have not heard them yet, and I must say, even Metallica will be rather new for me. I look forward to hearing them and discovering what they do!
@Bjørn Torkel Dahl Thanks, Bjørn! I didn't realize that when I watched it. Peter seemed to understand it, though. I now understand that this is a thing they have the artists do. I think it was an amazing rendition, even if they took a month to make it!
Great reaction to one of my favourite singers. I don’t see any reaction to Angelina Jordan, also from Norway. She is presently 17. Started out on Norway’s Got Talent, winning at age 8 singing Summertime. At 9 she sang her version of Screaming J Hawkins‘I’ll Put A Spell On You’, in b&w. She has just released her original song,‘Love Don’t Let Me Go’. Either would be an ideal first introduction to this young amazing singer.
Hi Stewart! I have been quiet on my channel for a while recently. I do plan to listen to Angelina Jordan, too. Many people have recommended her as well. Thank you for your suggestion! Stay tuned!
Hi Tym! Thanks for watching! See our Aurora playlist and please come back -- we have a number of Aurora reactions coming out in the next few weeks! What is your favorite Aurora song?
Hi Sullivangraphics! I love that you call us a "tribe!" She loves a "tribal beat" in her songs, which I prefer to call "primal". And what is a weirdo except someone who values the beat of their own drum?! March on!
Great reaction, guys! 🤟 If you really want to see Aurora turn a cover up on its head, I highly recommend her cover of Boney M's Rasputin: ruclips.net/video/HWd_N-9n7NM/видео.html
They're obviously still quite close.....I imagine they'll work together in some capacity in the future. But hey, if he doesn't co-produce her next album, I think that's quite alright. He and Aurora already made four solid albums together. Now would be a cool time to try something new! But again, they're def still close. I mean, Magnus even filled in on drums during the last of her South American dates this past month when all that drama went down....
Hi Leo -- Thanks for that info. I am aware of the band having disbanded! Silja, I know, is working on her own solo career, and I applaud her. She is also an amazing talent!
Great reaction as usual guys! Then again, I'd be 100% ok if you literally made your channels devoted to nothing BUT Aurora. Consider it...eh? ; } I happen to be a Fake Doctor, so I hope that counts for something....

@@avedic Hi avedic! 4 albums is a lot! And I am intrigued--What drama went down during her South American tour?
She didn't much like the song and choose to not sing some of the lyrics because she didn't like them, not because of its difficulty
I respect that!
Her version of lyrics has more sense, less sexual
