Kathril can also be hexproof and industructable if cards with those keywords are in your graveyard. And True Name Nemesis has protection from a player.
I mean a majority of cards on this list, especially the first half, are dealt with by swords to plowshares so that means that really isnt a requirement for a list like this
My favorite unkillable has to be spore frog in my meren deck. You've never heard someone groan quite as loud as my table when I drop that turn one. It's near impossible to get rid of completely, and helps me put up a ridiculously Mana efficient wall that my opponents just can't get through
@@TheCommandersQuarters I started Magic in high school with Tempest and Arabian Nights. I stopped around Mercadian Masque. I came back during RTR and instantly fell in love with Azorious control. Aetherling was my favorite finisher by far.
When you mentioned turbo fog I thought of a thantis deck made up of a ton of these tough creatures (and more like spear breaker behemoth) with as many board wipes as possible. That's a war weaver.
Kind of surprised Athreos, Shroud Veiled isn't in the video. He may not be hard to deal with himself technically, but he can make other creatures hard to deal with.
I just built my Falthis/Jeska damage doubler deck and I needed some creatures that would stick to the battlefield when I saw the notification, thanks Mitch!
niv-mizzet, parun can be included here... it is in blue so counterspells are always on check, but casting spells to remove him makes the owner draw cards which would likely be something that can protect him...
There's a few other cards that you could have listed here. Anything with Embalm, encore, etc. that return a creature as a token would be annoying to deal with. Anything that dies and leaves behind a token of itself. One of my favorite combos is Soul Foundry and Progenitor Mimic (PM). Every turn (or more, depending), for 6 mana you get a clone that makes clones of itself. If you don't deal with PM right away, it will slowly create an army. And with Soul Foundry, you can put a new PM into play every turn. And PM can copy something that is indestructible or has protection or hex proof (because it doesn't target). Now, combine that with Doubling Season...
My boy Norin! He's such a powerful commander and one of his best friends Purphoros is also on the list. It's hilarious when new players see Norin, look at me, and ask, "How is this supposed to be good?" Then the blinking starts and the hurt follows soon after.
When you mentioned turbo fog I thought of a thantis deck made up of a ton of these tough creatures (and more like spear breaker behemoth) with as many board wipes as possible. That's a war weaver.
My playgroup has an alternate name for the Reassembling Skeleton : the "IKEA" skeleton (because you're putting it back together much like how you would put back a shelf). I've been meaning of making a voltron deck tech list for Rayami, actually. With boardwipes, this could be quite hard to deal with.
i was hoping you'd go over the Food Chain combo as everything that deals with Food Chain exploits the exiled creatures ability to be cast from exile and there's a creature that has an ability cost (like reasembling skeleton) to put it back on the battlefield from exile though this doesn't work with Food Chain. Sad to had not heard about Oathsworn Vampire, it's an amazing vampire card. I can understand why you didn't mention Gutterbones. No mention of Sanitariam skeleton or Coiling pillbug?
Hey Mitch! I'm a big fan of you from Italy. I would have included Uril, the Miststalker in this list. He has hexproof, plus in an aura deck it gets incredible hard to kill, with totem armour, indestructibile, ecc..😉
Best answer for these are cyclonic rift and scour from existence. Also helpful if you have cards that reduce the cost of those instants like Mizzix of the Izmagnus so you aren't paying 7.
@@MrBe56 Try tuck effects like Condemn. In most games, it is going to be a VERY long time before they get it back. Bonus, Condemn is absolutely brutal on Commanders for the same reason. There are some other cards that have the same effect, but not usually as efficiently.
I'm honestly surprised that he didn't show Blightsteel Colossus. It's a really good example of "Impossible to Kill," especially with what it does. That said, this was an awesome video! Maybe one day we'll see a 5 color "You can't kill me!" deck.
I have a green/white spirit deck. While my friends find a couple of of the legendary spirits annoying, they despise the Blinking Spirit. They have to either counter it or force me to discard it in order to stop it from recurring. And, let's be honest, who wants to waste a counter on what is otherwise a 2/2 vanilla creature and a random discard might not get it on a single attempt.
In the "I'm out of here" category you really should've mentioned cards like Master Transmuter that return (potentially) itself to your hand as part of a cost. They are in some cases even harder to deal with than, say, an aetherling because whereas you could theoretically run the controller of an aetherling out of mana by continually casting removal spells in response to the Aetherling's blink, Master Transmuter, provided she does not have summoning sickness, will react to your first attempt and be off the battlefield before you get a chance to respond again.
I would have mentionned Mirage Mirror... its not a creature but it can become one for 2 mana and its a card that is hard to get rid off. Still, nice video, very helpful!
Hmm, have the Feeling he kinda hooked us with using the most Broken ones up front. Progenitus at 3 Min. mark? Got to watch this. And than he comes with Cards like Selesnia... which bounces herself. Yes you can say she is kinda immortal coming back, but most people would argue if you make your oppoment pay 5 Mana again, you did kind of deal with it.
Finding out phasing does not operate like flickering was a weird conversation. You don’t get exit the battlefield or ETB effects, it just...doesn’t exist for bit.
Ive only been playing commader for a few months and never seen a card like Norin the Wary. How exactly do you use a card that exiles itself when anyone does litterlly ANYTHING?? Is this even worth making a commander? Love your vids mitch!
I'm no expert; but with him you'd want cards that basically say 'when (creature) enters play put X ability' [IE whenever a creature enters, put a +1/+1 on all creatures.]
I had a Norin the Wary deck that had stuff like that dealt damage when the creature ETBs. Actually really funny one game I cast Norin on turn one and then attacked with it turn two and the guy just kinda stopped and was dumbfounded for like 5 minutes. He couldn't wrap his head around what just happened and why I would play it. After I got several Pandemonium out with a few power increasers to trigger Where Ancients Tread when Norin came in he got the picture and dead.
I want to see a new version of Norin the Wary where they include for game mechanics that he is considered a coward. It would not only be great flavor, but it could be a good excuse to include in a upcoming set that has cowards in it.
Great topic but you definatly missed a couple Gravecrawler, is the exact same thing as Reassembling skeleton plus it goes infinite with phyrexian altar Yuriko, no point on commander tax with NinJutsu since it will keep coming back no matter how you kill her as the commander SpearBreaker Behemoth is a real pain in the neck it's indestructible and can give any other creature with 5 power or greater indestructible till the end of turn for just one single dang mana and it can be any color Genesis its gonna stick around in the graveyard but the reason I'm mentioning it is because if it's in the yard...ALL THE CREATURES BECOME VERY HARD TO GET RID OF! Batterskull, It's not a creature but this equipment can bounce itself back to hand for just 3 mana so they try to remove it its gonna bounce one last card Will-o'-the-Mist it's one black regenerate pretty typical but the reason I'm mention this card is I want to remind you of the mechanic ikoria brought which is mutate and Otrimi a 6/6 with regenerate for just one black is just beyond nasty
black cat may not be hard to kill, but play that thing in a multiplayer game and see how many turns it sits there, alive, functionally deterring people from attacking you at all. The psychological effect of maybe losing your best card coupled with the option to just attack someone else in multiplayer means that thing sticks around a lot longer than it has any right to lol

Damn I'd happily pay that little for a card. Come to Australia, Wayfarers Bauble is $6.44/$5usd regardless of Version.
I have more appreciation for all Mitch does after hearing that he edits all his videos.
We could actually count in the same way Yuriko, since it just always comeback only for 2 mana

Mitch, please make a deck vid for this 🙏
Nanomana, son, it regenerates me in response to taking damage... face it, you can't hurt me, Jayce!

Love the list! But I think Koma, the cosmos serpent should have made it. It’s so difficult to deal With
Yeah, I've seen gameknights episode with that.
Pretty nasty, not gonna lie.
My friend made a Koma deck. Our playgroup has learned to play the enchantments that remove effects now instead of all spot removal.
Exile? Minuses? Forced sacrifice? Split second?

Thrun was my first commander. I really enjoyed the heck out of playing him. Had him built as a equipment strategy so I would win by commander damage.
My longest played commander was Varolz. I also usually won through commander damage
