The same cinematographer behind Interstellar, Let the Right One In, and Dunkirk? Visually, this is going to be fantastic. Can’t wait.

The beauty of this film is something else. The main character Roy doesn’t realize he’s just like his father obsessing over the unknown, obsessing over something he couldn’t see when he should be accepting that whats important is what you have right now in this moment, what made you feel alive, the unknown is the unknown, our future is unknown, what we do there is unknown. Obsession is what blinds you to see the beauty of what is known, that you have a life and you have a home and it’s the thing we can’t lose. Our trauma, our work, our obsessions they all pull us from what’s really right there in front of us the things that’s there to give us life.
Absolutely right
Yeah... right.... #FLATEARTH!!!
@@c0nstantin86 You aren't serious. Are you?
Sure, but on the other hand we would still be marvelling at the flames of our campfire. Humans have to break new ground, it's what we do.
Beautifully said. Most of us are like Roy. Obsessing over unknown without seeing what is right in front of us.
My favorite type of movie. A high production sci-fi that’s not based on a comic book.
We really don't have enough of these movies (which makes them even more valuable)

@Matthew Alkman yeah but I don't think a movie is gonna set up the new world order...

Such an underrated movie. I watched it today and to be honest….out of many sci-fi movies….this is the only movie that has taken me to the “edge of our” solar system. So simple yet so beautiful…
What about interstellar?
This is not Sci fi movie this is our near future in next 200 to 250 years. Look how far we came from 1800 to 2025 similarly how far we go from 2025 to 2250.
@@starship3812 agreed
It’s not really “simple”. The movie is great because the director decided to rely on CGI as little as humanly possible. Look it up, man is a genius.
Shame the movie failed at the box office, I’d love to see more cinema like this.
saw the single image of Brad Pitt in his space suit many months ago, i’ve been waiting for this film since then. oh this is gonna be an interesting ride

Brad Pitt + an astronaut film. I'm there opening day. It's just great how Pitt continues to star in interesting films year after year. The man is a workhorse and a brilliant actor. Long may he continue.
him and cruise imo. mission impossible is still getting A scores every time a new one comes out.
I dig Brad Pitt and A LOT of his movies but I wouldn't call him a brilliant actor. He makes great choices on which projects he works on, especially of late, but he lacks the versatility, range and emotional depth to be called a brilliant actor. Just my opinion :o)
@@LAlindquist Should check out Curious Case of Benjamin Button. He was pretty amazing in that and I personally think it's one of his best acted roles ever.
Fury was also amazing!
@@Who-Uhm-Cares don't forget Snatch!
Just finished watching Ad Astra, what a fantastic movie that was. Don't pay attention to the negative reviews. It's not the space movie I thought it would be, it was better. Not a ton of action but a fantastic psychological and emotional story that was very well acted. This film will eventually get the attention it deserves.
Ad Astra..
I believe the space and worlds destruction was the plot.... But the real underlying and poignant message was the relationship of the son, brad Pitts character and the father, Tommy lee jones.
How the son got through life by working hard pushing hurt, anger abandonment feelings to one side. Finally through a leading up to a world disaster he has a chance to confront and deal with all this by finally finding his father.
By meeting, talking and seeing what the father has done and become. The son was still able to reach down and forgive the father and telling him that he loved him. Then through the final powerful scene the father tussled with the son and telling him to let go, "let me go Roy"....The son with sadness did !....this set him free brought inner healing, love and reconciliation with life and wife.
I hope so.
the amount of material in this trailer that's not included in the final movie is interesting

Sci-fi fans: it wasn't necessary to shot such a bad movie: no scientific accuracy at all, together with a silly plot.
@@antonioluismarcoburgos8117 A. No scientific accuracy at all? Wrong. Granted its basic astrophysics is a little off but and I make this case in point B. Why does it even matter if its scientifically accurate? It's artistic merit far outshines its lack of desire to be a documentary. Also you must have hated the later acts of films like Interstellar and 2001 if it means so much to you that they're "scientifically accurate"

Saw it today. The negative reviews are total bullshit the film was great. Original captivating and immersive. Only thing I dont get 1- why/how are there 'space pirates' on the moon?? Did they build their own separate bases, where do they live? Who funds them? How did they get there a d maintain their presence in the first place? 2- Brad got billions of miles directly to earth off the push of one nuclear explosion??
Moon is now civilized so its just like earth. Like they said its like the wild west on the moon. The ship still had power so i dont think the blast fully pushed him to earth.

Fun Fact: Ad Astra means " to the stars" in Latin
Which is funny in this case because he's not really going to the stars but rather tot he edge of the Solar system, which is farther away from any star (including our own) than just remaining on Earth.
Latin makes sense, since it's the Catholic Church secret societies that control fake space travel.
