Aww I love this, people commenting their own translations of the quote. It is a good one, though the word play on gift and present only really works in English unfortunately. As far as I know.
As a chinese person I can’t help to think back to my hometown when I hear this. My great-granddad played the Erhu for me when I was a small child. We would sit next to the fireplace in the chill evenings, he would play erhu and I would watch and listen. Sadly he isn’t with me anymore.

The erhu is such a beautiful instrument. It gives a much more melancholy feel than a violin, but it becomes even more melancholy when the two are mixed.
Legend says the erhu was made from the bones, skin and hair of a faithful white horse that sacrificed itself to protect the owner he loved. When it was played it captured the sadness the owner felt for his horse

I am proud to finally share my rendition for this legendary theme ! I wanted to do Oogway Ascends since the time I picked up the Erhu but I wanted to improve on my skills before trying to really play it. This was extremely hard to play in the end but I'm very happy with the result, I hope you'll like it too.

So I sorely under appreciated this song from the movie, after watching this I went back and found the original song and listened to it. Then listened again to your cover, and I am in awe. I love this cover more then the original, don't get me wrong, Hans Zimmer is the bomb, but this is stunning. Gorgeous stuff Elliott, keep up the hard work, I love it.
