- Shenington and Alkerton lie just beyond the north-eastern tip of the Cotswolds, falling into the remit of our travel guide Herbert Evans, who wrote the Highways and Byways in Oxford and the Cotswolds in 1905.
Both villages are picturesque, with a tradition in Shenington of whitsuntide, whilst Alkerton has a lovely church.

Interesting to hear the history of Whitsuntide, reed and grass spreading inside the church.
This video was worth the wait. Excellent work good Sir! ❤❤❤😊
❤❤❤
I enjoyed the tour of the church and the history of the Rector. It always fils me with awe and reverence for the sheer age of these villages. In America we have no buildings older than early Colonial times.
So glad this was written about so long ago.I agree, freshly cut grass in England..nothing like it.
Good morning everyone
Good morning,,,how are you? It's a cloudy start today. Care for a cup of coffee? I'll go make some ☺️🦋
@@shaline2792 that's awesome. My morning covered with think smoke from the forest fires two provinces over. Caffeine? Actually I'm enjoying strawberry rhubarb pie with a cup of ice wine tea ☕ have a wonderful day bye for now
Thank you very much.
Thank you Robin! Reminds me of home!
What an interesting - enlightening - contrast between the interior's of the two churches. Most enjoyable. Thank you.
'Strewing' is a word I have never come across... but now I know...thanks Robin and Ross.
That is interesting, as sports' commentators and all sorts of critics use the term error-srtewn or strewn with errors about a bad performance.
Fabulous video Robin thank you always for what you do...
Thank you very much, Robin... This video - interesting... This place - beautiful ❗

Great video and lovely to explore the Cotswolds with you!
Great show 👍
What a beautiful place, would love to visit! Except through the grass time xD I'm allergic to newly cut grass, it would be horrible, haha.
Robin, it seems of late that the videos are more and more focusing on the village church. Could you show a bit more of the village itself? Thank you!
Sometime Robin, could you show your crew who works with you on your videos? That would be interesting.
Man, some of his reviews of these quaint, cuddly, old churches are scathing😮 None of the churches in the Cotswolds would compare to the house of worship in my hometown- but each place has its own unique charm and I thought the first church was particularly well-rounded and interesting.
Darn! I wanted to see the grass on the floor! I am sure the dogs did too!❤
