    I have a Add-A-Grapple for my John Deere 950, and when I ordered it I got the smallest size not properly measuring my bucket. The side brackets were too short to fit into the center section. I contacted Customer Service and asked to purchase 2 more side brackets 10 inches longer each. Customer Service was OUTSTANDING and added my request to Production. They arrived and it worked PERFECT. I kept the shorter brackets in case I ever move the Add-A-Grapple to a smaller bucket. The Star in this purchase was Customer Service... NO --- We can't do that.... They worked with me and the results were outstanding.

    Highly considering buying my first tractor and I'm impressed with what I've read and seen on Summit Tractors. The add a grapple I find intriguing. Only thing holding me back is I'm unsure about 3 pt pull behind mower. My yard is sloped and hilly and I think, but don't know for certain, if a belly mower would be better. I know that Summit doesn't have a belly mount at this time. Please enlighten me on this matter thanks.

    I love my Frontier grapple, use it as much as the forks, the bucket and it’s a close tie to the MMM. But I see a whole lot of advantages with the dual heads and their ability to come down and grab independent of each other. I’ve rarely been able to grab a load of branches that was even and it can throw the balance off a bit, seems Summit has taken care of that which is an added safety feature IMHO. I am curious as to where Summit sources it’s steel, is the steel itself made here in the U.S.A., or is it sourced from China?

    • @GoodWorksTractors
      @GoodWorksTractors  Год назад +1

      As far as Summit Tractors goes, the tractors themselves are made in India, but not sure if the steel comes from there. Wheels are Made in the USA, backhoes are Made in the USA, not sure on loaders, but don't believe it's China or India.

    Free idea for you, EA laughed at it. But I think since you've already proven to be able to design an manufacture smaller items, I'll ask you why aren't there more modular type solutions like the Artillian grapple?
    I would like to see either a weld it yourself kit or something modular like the add a grapple but put multiple mounting tabs along it spaced so you could use anywhere from 1-3 grapple lids, 1 works if you're just moving logs and you want the weight savings, 3 would work really well for fine material like pine needles, leaves, small branches/combination, etc.
    Make them quick release at the hinge so if you want to remove them or even move them to another implement, in my case I'd like to move the grapple lids between the bucket and silage bucket, and I'd maybe even get forks some day where it might be useful to toss a lid or 2 on there. I think if you used high strength steel and lazer or water cut the pieces you could ship a couple UPS or fedex packages out pretty cheap for those looking to save a few more dollars or willing to learn to weld. Then add an option to add more mounting tabs if someone has a use for them on other equipment.
    Custom kits like I'm thinking of are really common in the Jeep world where they provide a generic amount of material and just utilize the bulk metal prices and high dollar CNC equipment to give you parts/options that you can tailor to your own specific vehicle. Adding in some indexing holes/tabs and the construction is really easy as well.

    • @GoodWorksTractors
      @GoodWorksTractors  Год назад +1

      I tried a modular version of our stump bucket to mount on forks. Problem is there's so many fork frames with different designs that it just kept having compatibility issues. Artillian's only works because it's proprietary with their own frame. I don't really believe in doing that, but we could. I've not found a way to make it work universally on all the fork frames out there...at least, not yet.

    • @rcguymike
      @rcguymike Год назад

      @@GoodWorksTractors any way to do it like how they add a grapple to a bucket? Drill some holes in the outer part of the fork frame to add another subframe that the lid hinges could mount too? Make it like they make universal trailer hitches where the center section is bolted into the middle of the 2 outer frame pieces and then the hinges are either welded or bolted to that? Just spit balling😁

Trust me, it'll be worth the wait. It's a really nicely made, well thought out piece of equipment that works really well..

      Smaller brand tractors have been sold for decades. They are usually sold on a similar formula, get more metal for your money.
      The issues are many but come down to the fact no one will criticise you if your Kubota or JD tractor breaks down but everyone will think you are at fault if your off brand tractor breaks.
      This thinking comes on the other end. A name brand tractor is easy to sell while something else has to take time to sell.
