This was such a creative idea! I loved it! The way you started Beartown like “Oh, the author is so funny” and getting to the end you couldn’t stop crying 🥹🥹
Girlie, that coffee with your white robe had me anxious the entire time 😂 I am also so brutal with my ratings. I can be even more precise with StoryGraph so I give so many books like .25, .5, or .75. Like your 3 ⭐ would have probably been like a 3.25 ⭐ or something like that. I literally only have had 2 5 ⭐ reads in the last 3 years I've been rating but tons of 4.75 ⭐, haha You literally convinced me to loan Beartown from Libby. It's longer so I've been weary of doing so! Thanks for the recommendation!!! I think you would like Big Little Lies. It's a TV show on HBO as well. The ending had me 😲 but I might also be dumb, lol. I gave it 4.5 ⭐
Oh, also, I did like Eleanor but I only gave it 4 ⭐ because the part where your jaw dropped really made my upset actually. As the child of a narcissist, I feel like it took away from the story and it made it more about that instead of the growth. Idk how to describe it. Also, it was also really triggering which isn't any fault of the author, in fact it made it even better. The author clearly knows what being the child of a narcissist is like for sure. Eleanor's character growth really warmed my heart but that one thing made it lose a whole star 🙃 I'm so harsh as well, lol
Hahaha I totally get you with that twist - I can absolutely see how that dropped your rating!! Also I’ve seen big little lies and loved it SO MUCH but I haven’t read it. Liana moriarty is great though I’ve read the husband’s secret by her and loved it!!
@@scrivspo I'll put it on hold from Libby! Any other thrillers that you'd recommend? I've been in a reading slump for anything that isn't a thriller. Also, Emily Henry's new book Funny Story was really cute. Not as good as Book Lovers but maybe her 2nd best? I go back and forth 😊
I agree! Book lovers then funny story for me!! I loved the ruin by Dervla McTeirnan which is a crime focused thriller, a bit more police case focused but still thrilling!
I absolutely loved Eleanor Oliphant is completely fine, definitely one of my favourite reads! If you like that you should also try the dog of the north by Elizabeth McKenzie You also definitely need to read under the whispering door, absolutely incredible book
eleanor oliphant is completely fine is one of my favourite books ever, i’ve read it a couple of years ago and i’m still thinking about it to this day!! i was really curious about your opinion of the book 🙏🏻 and i wanna read something by fredrik backman sooo bad but i’m scared that it’s gonna break my heart 😢
Absolutely loved this video! Discovered you early pandemic and have loved seeing your content change but so proud you're doing something true to you! Your little insta book club also motivated me to get back into reading so thank you! Almost finished The First Wing and already picked up the second... so excited to finish up and move on to the next book:) I've also noted down some of your other recommendations too and plan to start my own book club with my best friend (all because of how much I've loved your new content/hoe motivating it is) xx thank you for helping me find the spark in an old hobby that fizzled out over the years
If you loved Elinor Oliphant, I can truly recommend Hotel Silence by Auður Ava Ólafsdóttir. I'm reading it for a project about Icelandic fiction, but in the English translation, and it's very good.
Um ma’am I’m gonna need you to read faster so that we get these videos more often kthx 😘 loved every minute and I have no suggestions but I love your creativity alwaays!
Dude I just found your channel from a declutter video and gasped when you showed your books bc I did not know you also posted book content! I’m a huge reader. I read the bear town series this year, I read the first book in January and couldn’t get it out of my head so I picked up the next 2 in April and finished them both. 5 ⭐️ series!! Would love to hear your thoughts once you finish them!
Beartown sounds really good. A man called Ove is one of my fav books, so I'm excited to read another book by the same author. Thanks for the rec! 💜 Also, glad you liked Eleanor Oliphant Is Completely Fine. I read it like two years ago and remember really enjoying it as well ☺️
I used to translate books and the excerpt you read from Beartown sounds like the humor might be the author's. You can take some liberties when translating but a good translator will always try to stay close to the original vibe 😊 (It sounds like a great book. I have put it on my wishlist thanks to your vlog 😊)
I just finished Us against you, the sequel to Beartown, and it WRECKED me! I’m so attached to these characters and the town, need to finish it asap, but those blurbs of “laugh out loud book” etc. are INSANE lmao
What you said about Whisper really reminded me of the start of the Shatter Me series! And you might want to check out Olivie Blake, she writes amazing adult fantasy/sci-fi books. It can be a bit more difficult to get through because she uses science to explain the magic, but that's what made it so awesome for me. I loved The Atlas Six by her and I am about to start One For My Enemy, so excited!
Love love LOVED this video! Such a creative and inspiring idea on one of the ways to use AI! I appreciate the real-time reactions and such great recommendations 🫶🏼 can’t wait for more reading content!
The cat thing is so real! I have had cats and they always come cuddle when you’re sad, even if you aren’t actually crying tears 😭 I read my first book in a while thanks to you helping me overcome my reading burnout. It was a Fate Inked in Blood, a random fantasy read that was on my local library app. It had a little spice to it, which seems to be the norm with fantasy books, but I really liked it and look forward to reading some of your book recs 😊
every time you picked up and put back hamnet made me want to read hamnet lol. Ive been on a romcom kick but Its time for me to get some literary fiction in.
I mainly started following you from the vlogs, closet cleanouts, etc. But I have been loving the book content lately, you are making me want to start reading again!
I don't often watch book related Yt videos but this was fun 😊 Question. What do you do with all the books you buy and have read? Do you keep them and reread, sell, donate, throw out? I love a physical book but these days books seem to be really hard to get rid off. People don't like owning books anymore, many don't even have bookshelves. Also charity shops etc often don't want to receive books anymore because no one wants them and they take a lot of space. So books become (paper) waste which is really sad. Would like to hear your thoughts! Maybe this isn't a problem in Australia?
I keep them as I’d like to have a reading room one day! But we can donate them to our libraries, charity shops etc, I don’t think it’s a huge problem here from what I know 🥰
This was such a creative idea! I loved it!

Honestly my favourite books make me laugh and also cry!!! So happy you liked the video concept!
As I was watching, I checked my local library for beartown! Thanks for the rec, Chad!
YAY I’m so glad!!!
you really sold me with reading beartown omg
It’s… so good
Have never been interested in Beartown at all but you really convinced me I need to read it. Just saved it on Libby.
I hope you love it!!!

Start with a man called ove!!! It has its sad moments but I would say it’s a lot more heartwarming and less sad than Beartown!
