Okay. Hear me out about Hannah Grace. I don’t think I have quite as strong feelings about Icebreaker as you, BUT I didn’t like it enough that I skipped Wildfire. And then when I found out that Daydream was Henry’s story (the only real redeemable quality of Icebreaker), I knew I was going to give her a try again. And Daydream didn’t disappoint! It’s a 5 star for me where Icebreaker is a 2.5. Such a big improvement in terms of content and character complexity/ likability.
Hey Melbourne sis! I had The Tattooist of Auschwitz on my TBR for September and I read it in one day. It’s painful but also full of hope and love. The closing chapter when you learn about the gentleman and where he ended up made me very emotional. I’m also currently 25% through The Thursday Murder Club and it’s fun. The old people banter between the characters is actually hilarious. I think you’ll like it.

Congratulations 🌶️🎉 Concerning your tbr, I've read The Tattooist of Auschwitz about two years ago, and it's a book that I still think about from time to time. There's something about the fact that the events in the book are based on real life that makes the story all the more heartbreaking. And while you're learning about these tragic historical events, there's also this interesting personal layer, as the story is essentially told by the protagonist, Lale Sokolov, himself. Heather Morris, the author, worked closely with him to capture his experiences. By the way, I’m not sure if you knew this, but Heather Morris is actually Australian! So I hope that you'll enjoy the book as much as I did and I wish you the most wonderful month of october! 💛

I’ve actually read so many books based off these TBR videos now. A Thousand Splendid Suns has now become one of my top 3 books. The Tattooist is incredible and also a cult classic, so I am sure you will enjoy that.
Such a good selection!! I’ve only read one Stephen King book, which was Salems Lot. I will say that his writing style is soooo different. It took me 4 attempts to read it after wanting to DNF so badly. I ended up loving it!

On my list I've got The Dead Romantics by Ashley Poston, your suggestion of the first Cormac Reilly series, The Rune!! The Very Secret Society of Irregular Witches (cause Halloween), Between Us by Mhairi McFarlane (also off of a you suggestion), A Good Girl's Guide to Murder by Holly Jackson (but I did not love Five Survive so we'll see how that goes) and Love on the Brain from Ali Hazelwood because my library had it in stock! I also ordered a mystery box of two books from my local bookstore based off of Nicolas Cage's Vampires Kiss for Halloween lol. I'm excited to see what those two are.
I actually think the book thief won't mess you up as much as you think! it's very whimsical, and funny, and deals with what could be a heavy topic in a very humorous, cathartic and delicate way. There are sad parts to it, but it ends on a happy note. This is coming from someone who cannot read WWII novels, they trigger me so much lol. when I watched half of the first episode of We Were The Lucky Ones on Hulu, I almost had a panic attack and stayed up all night crying. But the Book Thief is my favorite book ever. k lol I'mma finish watching
I had to take like an hour to think but I have a suggestion about the blind book tbr- have Ethan pick the books (assuming you’ll choose three to read, have him choose like ten to twelve off of your tbr cart) use reusable grocery bags (or any other bag you have lol) for about eight of them and then he hides the rest that he pulled so you really don’t know what books are in the bags. Also I can’t remember if you’ve done one of these before because I literally just got out of the shower and had the idea but you should do a “my 5 five-star ratings and 5 one-star ratings as of whatever date” video! I’d be intrigued to see your thoughts and ratings as of current time!

The Hodges trilogy, the outsider, if it bleeds and then Holly. Reading order so suggesting if you read Holly go back and read those too. Mr Mercedes is so good 😊

Sooo I picked up Holly from my neighborhood little library only to learn it’s actually part of a series! I believe you can read it without reading the trilogy, but I decided I’d start the series. I just finished book one and it was so good!!!! Also my first SK novel. Check out the Bill Hodges trilogy, Mr Mercedes is first. PS Kristin Hannah is amazinggg and my mum got me on to her books before the TikTok girlies knew she existed 😂😂
Once it gets spooky in Australia you should check out The Shining by Stephen King. Kind of a classic too and one of the few times I actually got jump-scared in a book :)

i also didn’t like icebreaker i honestly don’t get the hype… but i really really liked wildfire!! it’s so much better in my opinion but maybe it’s because i could relate so much to russ and aurora. pls go into it with an open mind, you’ll probably be surprised (i was) :)
The Book Thief is one of my favorite books ever! It's technically YA, but like you, I don't really like YA that much. It's not like most YA. Also, even though it has a lot of pages, it's a fast read just because some of the formatting. But you're right... it will destroy you. Just don't put it off because of the page numbers..
I didn’t Read icebraker but wildfire was such a cute Story that I bought daydream in english because I didn’t want to wait until it’s released in german ☺️ and I Hope it’s such as cute as wildfire…
I think I am maybe one of the few people that didn't like the thursday murder club that much haha. I don't think it was a bad book, just a bit slow pace for me. And I got a bit muddled on the timeline, but a quick re read helped that. I am currently reading the hobbit, which I am liking but becuase I'm dyslexic and the wriiting is older english I have to re-read every page like three times 😢 I have a list of books I want to read but they don't seem to be in the libary and I also go on holiday soon, so maybe an excuse to actually buy some new books to take with me 😅
The Nightingale is so so amazing. It’s what ruins the historical fiction for me because I have not been able to read a book that has beat out the nightingale so good.

The Book Thief is one of my favorite books ever! It's technically YA, but like you, I don't really like YA that much. It's not like most YA. Also, even though it has a lot of pages, it's a fast read just because some of the formatting. But you're right... it will destroy you. Just don't put it off because of the page numbers..

I didn’t Read icebraker but wildfire was such a cute Story that I bought daydream in english because I didn’t want to wait until it’s released in german ☺️ and I Hope it’s such as cute as wildfire…

I think I am maybe one of the few people that didn't like the thursday murder club that much haha. I don't think it was a bad book, just a bit slow pace for me. And I got a bit muddled on the timeline, but a quick re read helped that.
I am currently reading the hobbit, which I am liking but becuase I'm dyslexic and the wriiting is older english I have to re-read every page like three times 😢 I have a list of books I want to read but they don't seem to be in the libary and I also go on holiday soon, so maybe an excuse to actually buy some new books to take with me 😅
i'm really excited to read both those books and see if my thoughts are the same!!

The Nightingale is so so amazing. It’s what ruins the historical fiction for me because I have not been able to read a book that has beat out the nightingale so good.
