okay I don't usually comment, but you're one of my comfort yters I love the direction you took with your channel to make it more book focused! Please, please, please give Maggie O'Farrell and her books a chance. My favourite is her memoir (it doesn't read as memoir) "I am, I am, I am: Seventeen brushes with death", she had me sobbing on page 50
yayyyyy final empire!!! i'd never read anything like it before so the first 100 pages was a lot of learning, but i ended up looooving the entire series. sanderson is a fantastic writer
i’ve finished “piranesi” today and fell in love with this book! i actually learned about it because of your video, so if you haven’t read it already, i highly recommend!! it’s so magical and one of a kind now i started “a certain hunger” and so far it’s great! i can already tell that it’s gonna be one of my favourite books this year
Heir of Fire was really hard for me to read in TOG. BUT all of the slug from the beginning of the series is worth getting through to read the rest. Happy reading!
I don’t really comment on people’s videos but I recently found your channel and love it! I LOVE Throne of Glass series and I am currently on Queen of Shadows! Heir of Fire is SO good!
I read The Final Empire during a reading slump and it completely captured my attention from the first page. I had no issues getting through it at all, and it got me right out of my slump. Highly recommend!
@@scrivspo Imagine doing a 24hr reading challenge. Doesn't need to be straight. Could be timer method. That could get a little chaotic but might help get you out of your slump
I'm currently reading Animal Farm from George Orwell. It's a short story but the meaning of it is so cool. Perfect if your into a history! I love the book😊
If you want a book that is SO worth the hype, the easiest 5 star I've given in ages, Song of Achilles by Madeleine Miller is THAT girl. It has a beautiful, heart-wrenching tragic romance with a backdrop of historical fantasy, truly a story that has stuck with me
Hi fellow Melbourne girly! I just started The Final Empire last week. I’m about 250ish pages in. I got the audiobook to read alongside as I was a little intimidated. I’ve really enjoyed it so far! It’s my first high fantasy book and was a little scared it would go over the top of my head but it hasn’t and I’m enjoying it a lot so far! Perhaps a TAD slow but I am reading it quite slow, just a little bit each night so maybe that’s why haha! Looking forward to see if you get to it this month! 💕
Yaaaaas, almost every book you chose are either books I've read and were 4 ⭐ or higher or are on my tbr! You'll have to tell me how City of Bones is. It sounds great. I think you're going to really enjoy Mistborn 1. It could have been a standalone if Brandon didn't want to continue it but it's ending is so good. Wild Love isn't really up my street personally but if it's good, let us know! Haha
I have yet to read the Daevabad Trilogy (City of Brass), but The Adventures of Amina Al-Sirafi by the same author was my favorite book of last year. Highly recommend!!
omg i commented too quickly, The City of Brass is one of my favourite books (and series) ever. It's honestly incredible. I hope you can get to it soon!

I chose 5 with my Prompt Jar's Help A Book with Lettering on the cover- Wilder Girls by Rory Powers A Male Author- The Psychopathology of Everyday Life by Sigmund Freud Book from Shelf #___: Cotton Town Girls by Leah Fleming A Book Published after 2010- Look for Me by Jessica Barry Number in the Title: 1 True Loves by Taylor Jenkins Reid
just added city of brass to my TBR. also, I just read a phenomenal book, I wonder if you'd like it. It's literary fiction-- and not the literary fiction that a lot of book girlies on here confuse with contemporary fiction. It's actual literary fiction. It's called The Magic Strings Of Frankie Presto by Mitch Albom. It's told mostly from the point of view of music, as it follows a boy named Frankie Presto, found on the shores of a river bank during the Spanish civil war, as he grows up to become a music star in the 60's, and his relationship with music throughout his life. Moved me so much.
@@scrivspo Yes!! So, the beginning was a tiny bit slow but I’m about a third in and it’s started to pick up now that it’s shifted from only Hamnet’s perspective to the other family members. Can’t wait to hear your thoughts later on!
Currently reading Hamnet and I'm half-way through. It's a tough read, I have to force myself to read it a lot of times cause I don't like the structuring (it often shifts perspective between and in the middle of chapters which I'm not a huge fan of). But it's definitely a good read, the writing is fantastically executed and I have a feeling that it's gonna be a very emotional book towards the end. Already have my tissue papers ready 🥹
@scrivspo just finished it and thought I'd let you know it's definitely worth the read! It's beautiful and gut-wrenching all at once. A little after the half-way mark it definitely becomes an easier read which I find happens for me with most books. Good luck on getting through, I'm sure you won't regret it 🤞
The Final Empire is soooo good! Yes it's long but I don't remember there being any point where I was bored. Everything about the story is designed to hold your attention and if you want fantasy where romance is hinted at but kept as only one part of the story then it's the perfect choice. Hope you love it! ☺
the first mist born book is one of the best fantasy books I've ever read. did not like the other 2 in the series as they're way more political based, but this one was excellent and thrilling and slightly romantic
I don't think I have read any of these books, but keen to hear what you think cause I need to branch out😊 it's been a little while since the vlog where the 'jean meltdown' happened. How are you feeling about it all now?
@@scrivspo I don't know if you've tried much sci-fi, but it is really good I promise. It is a little dark though... if you want a less dark sci-fi I would recommend The Hail Mary Project.

I recently read the first two books of the Morgan Le Fay trilogy by Sophie Keetch (I'm a huge sucker for mythological retellings) and I think you'll like them, I can definitely recommend it, especially the 2nd book had me in tears. I was flying through books every month and loved the Acotar series but then read the throne of glass series, got half way through Heir of Fire and fell into a massive reading slump, I don’t think they read as well as the Acotar series. I don’t like starting another book until I’ve finished the one I’m on and I can’t bring myself to walk away from a series I’m half way through so now I’m just not reading at all 😢
Not in Love is not erotic. I'm not sure why it got that rep, but there have been books way spicier, such as Ice Breaker by Hannah Grace. It's just a bit spicier than her usual. Here One Moment was awesome!

I'm sorry you're still kind of in a slump! I hope you are able to get out of it soon. You have a lot of thiccc books in your collection, so I don't know if finding some shorter books would help to fill in the gaps and not feel so overwhelming. I always go for shorter books or comfort reads when I'm in a slump, so maybe that would help? Or maybe you could buy a collection like Edgar Allen Poe and treat each short story as a standalone. :) Let me know if you want a list or something, lol. I hope you're enjoying the spring weather! It's getting cold here, even though the US is a dumpster fire in every other way right now, lmao. 😂
