I can't imagine what the rehearsals were like. and i was absolutely blown away at how the french horn sounded like the strings at 2:17. i'm blown away at how well such a complicated piece sounds with only 5 instruments

For me, what makes this arrangement stand out is the way each instrument is implemented. Using a variety of different techniques, ranges, dynamics, and articulations makes for a much more engaging soundscape. It doesn’t feel like listening to only a flute, clarinet, oboe, bassoon, and horn, but rather a whole assortment of wind instruments. I never get bored of the voices because they change often and are written very cleverly.

Wow! This might be the best arrangement that I have ever seen of the Rite (other the Stravinsky's 4-hand piano arrangement). A piece so complex can be very difficult to arrange for such a small ensemble, but this one really made use of what it had, proving that The Rite of Spring can work on an ensemble that only allows for up to 5 notes at once.

Excellent arrangement and performance - musically precise and expressive (no conductor!)
A rewarding listening pleasure, especially for those who know and love this score. 💫

Fantastic!!! Your performances were flawless, and the arrangement is superb!! I recall reading that Stravinsky himself admitted that, upon consideration later, he could have used much more conservative and regular time signatures to notate the piece -- but maybe he didn't realize that he could have eliminated all those annoying strings as well!!

It's mind blowing how well the performers/artist here execute this arrangement. ❤

Sure, it's a skillful extraction of the orchestral score and sound. But is the result good woodwind writing? I'm not convinced it is. It's a challenging showpiece for the players, but the skilled showmanship wears out after a while.

The only problem I see is that they skipped some music. Really jolting for an experienced Rite of Spring listener
