  • How to make pineapple jam for business
    One way to lengthen the shelflife of the fruits is to make them into fruit jams.
    Fruit jams are crushed or chopped fruit that is cooked with sugar until it gels which is less firm than fruit jelly.
    Fruit jams has a longer shelflife for up to 6 months in room temperature even without preservatives because sugar act as natural preservatives- it lowers down the water activity, drawing out water making it unavailable for microorganisms.
    In this video, I'm going to show you the process in making pineapple jam for home consumption or business.
    These pineapple jams are processed in the Food Processing Innovation Center-Davao, Philippine Women's College of Davao, Davao City.

      Depende sa ripeness ng pineapple. If small Scale ka pa lng start with 45% sugar 55% pinya ( not overripe)

      Hello po thanks for watching. If ifollow ninyo po ang required sugar at procesomatagal po xa mapanis kasi ang sugar ang ngact as preservative. Mga around 6-8 months po khit sa room temp bsta wag direct sunlight istore

      Wala po. Kasi mataas ang sugar content ng jam. Ang sugar ang nkakapreserve neto.

      Depende po sa ripeness or acidity ng fruits, usually 1:1 ratio ng sugar at fruits, pero since matamis na ang pinya, wag mo i 1:1,bawasan mo konti sugar.
      Matagal magluto ng jam lalo na if walang "pectin" haluhaluin mo lng until thick usually 45 minutes -1 hour.

      Mataas ang sugar ng pineapple jam Kaya matagal xa mapanis. No need preservatives, sugar acts as natural preservative

      If it's for commercial purposes, possible na meticulous sa recipe but if you're asking for home consumption.
      40% sugar, 60% fruit then lil amount of calamansi or lemon juice

      No. Because it contains high amount of sugar, sugar acts as preservative. Also hot filling it in the glass jar makes it sterile .

      After filling the jam inside and closing it , I boil ang bottle for 20 to 30 minutes. If you're asking sterilizing before filling the jam, no need, just wash it with soap and water, kc mainit naman ang jam, more than 100°C
