(SPOILER) At 9:22 jack, btw there is a tv screen. We got held there, and were made to watch the screen, it played "the news" and it slowly got darker and super disturbing. They had the weather, a news reporter, an american news reporter. All played by the supposed "angelis mortus". There was one prominant word aswell "Believe/Believer". Not sure why you werent stopped there, it was a little long but it was extremely good and very creepy. They talked a lot about death, chapel station and "Lucy"
Did you notice the Easter eggs on the time table in the que zone? 👀 I absolutely love how they changed everything. Not sure how they'll keep this theme going given it solely relying on live actors but we shall see. Also was awesome to meet you today!🎉🎉🎉
Unfortunately Thorpe park has a shocking history when it comes to actor lead attractions. So I am willing to bet that this will be closed within a few years
@@wickedmanwoman if they remove the actors they will need to update the ride for something else. As Jack said, it heavily relies on the actors to take you through the journey/attraction.
They pay their actors minimum wage if not then a bit over and put too much pressure on them :( This isn’t a normal wage for actors. I work at a tiny entertainments venue about an hour away and even further outside of London and we pay our actors £14.50 an hour and they do less shows. If they looked after their actors properly I bet they’d have amazing results! 🥲💜
Just did the ride today and it was honestly rlly good. It’s clear to see how much money and effort was put into this and it payed off. My only complaint is with the finale as I feel the fake gift shop doesn’t work as well as it used to with the old theme but the whole experience was still so fun. Can’t wait to go back during the summer to get back on it
Great video Jack! Just making my way back home from Thorpe Park as I type this. I gave the Ghost Train 2 rides today, one as soon as the queue opened and then last ride of the day before queues were closed off. Overall...... I think it's just okay. I will say it's DEFO an improvement over Derren Brown IMHO (purely 'cause the VR was always faulty when I went on it in past few years), but felt like some parts were lacking story and experience-wise. That it just needed a bit more. Plus, I personally didn't find it all that "scary", it was defo entertaining though thanks to the actors and combine that with those who get very easily scared and it's kinda fun! 😂 But yeah, hopefully they'll make some minor tweaks, adjustments and improvements and overtime it'll become a stronger and better attraction as it's still early regardless. 😊👍
rode this yesterday, definitely an improvement from derren. my favourite part was in the pre show when the shutters closed by themselves. I’m watching this after i rode it and i found that i did not see a demon fly across the ceiling. maybe i wasn’t paying attention but i do not remember the live action section being that spectacular. Hoping that it was just my experience and next time I ride i get to witness it
I really hope I get chance to ride it soon. Thorpe isn’t local to us so I’m not sure if we’ll get to do it this year but it looks really good! I really liked Derren Brown’s but it needed a lot of work so I really hope they’ve improved it!
As someone with Autism, I like to know what to expect. That way, I can decide if I should ride it or not. So I had to stay for the spoilers. Great video as always!
@@mamunkhan9398 it has a LOT to do with it. I’m Autistic also and some of us really struggle with unknown situations, people and new experiences so we like to get as much info as possible to help with that
Thank you so much for giving a detailed review and description of the new ride! I’m Autistic and have Anxiety disorder and I’m so apprehensive to go on the new ghost train because it’s actor-led but hearing it described has made me feel calmer and a bit more ready to experience this, so honestly thank you
glad to hear that the ride is living up to expectations! Very excited to give it a go when I get back to the park!! I'm still worried that on off peak days the ride wont be open or there won't be as many actors throughout the layout though... Seems to be the Thorpe way to go all out on media days and peak times but not run things properly the rest of the year =\
Went to Thorpe Park last week Ghost Train was the last ride I went to before I left. It was worth the 40 minute wait. Acting, story, scares, the whole ride YES Made me scream like a girl 😂 My favourite attraction next to water slide and Walking Dead. (also love the Weeping Angel remark 😄😂)
There is a brand new, ghost train at Thorpe park, somebody leaked it derren brown is gone! *to the tune of the “there is a sonic level in fall guys” song.
Going tomorrow I am not sure what time the ride will be open but its going to be busy! Skipped the video although I may regret it. Taking a 12 year old hope she is not too freaked out😅
The staff are really good there. Let the staff at the entrance know that you need the scare actors to not come too close. I always make myself known if there are scare actors. I love the thrill but due to my neurospicy brain I can't have them up in my face. The team are great and always relay the message to the peeps inside.
Sounds like a great theatrical experience. Personally, I would count it as an 'immersive theatrical experience' rather than a dark ride. Will any offical POV's be released as me and many others are probably not going to be going soon. I feel like those 'vloggers' at the opening ceremony where meant to be railway fan's, sinpired by a certain couple...
The ride is more like a theatre performance. The actors aren’t that scary and don’t touch you. The scary part lasts like 20 seconds. In my opinion Darren’s brown ghost train was better when it was working right as it was actually scary and they actually touched u.
So I stopped at the start of the spoiler intro. I'll be heading to Thorp in a few weeks so I'll give it a go. First thoughts are I'm worried about staffing. I've never seen these type of attractions work well for tested periods of time. I never enjoyed Thorp till the last few years it's come a long way from the bad experience I felt back in the days. I'm really hoping this will continue to be a positive experience on what I've seen in the last year. Comment Paused...
Was very underwhelming today, operations were just as bad as DBGT and the experience was even worse, I dont get all the hype, the acting is cringe as hell and gave me second hand embarrassment for the actors. Defiantly not worth the 60 minuet wait, not even worth a 20 minuet wait either.
That young couple that stated they started their channel because of this one 🤮 going uuurrrrrrrrrr when the female actor approached them? How horrible! Zero self awareness
This ride is rubbish… they should have just removed it when DB’s Ghost Train was a failure… Come on TP… just remove it and put a proper ghost train in the building
I found the ride quite disappointing. In all there is probably about 1-2mins of action sandwiched between lots of sitting around. It doesn't help that it broke down with me on it, adding another 15 mins of sitting around before the train left chapel station. The theming is very good, but the scares lacked depth and impact. Then at the fake ending the actor was not in any kind of costume, it was just a ride operator in a blue polo. There are also some pretty bad audio imperfections, where loops don't match up and you can hear the audio repeating. It sounds picky but it ruins the immersion completely. The theming and lighting design is amazing and I don't want to take away from that but I'd hesitate to call it a better ride than Derren Brown.
Yeah there are some lows but personally I think it will improve as it has only been open for one and a bit days (at time of writing). I think the actor in the fake shop was probably meant to be in a normal staff uniform as 'normal but not' seems to be the theme of the entire ride, but it would be better if it was one of the other 'scary' characters.
This vlog is spoiler free until 7:37! 🚂🎢
I may be going after school today!!

I'd have rather seen a Resident Evil themed attraction in its place
This ride would not work without actors it purely wouldn't make sense

I wish I can go to Thorpe Park right now!
Looking forward to to trying it tho I will only come off peak so probs no actors like always
Wow just wow I can't wait to go on this !!!! Now
Dropping off to not see spoilers. Will be taking a trip to thorpe very soon so wanna experience the ride without knowing anything
