Again, even as a sighted person this is a big part of the way I clean, anything less isn’t clean enough

I think its so funny. While im sighted, i barely use my eyes to determine clean. I can feel when the floors need a vacuum or mop, i can feel when the counter is actually clean. If you just use your eyes youll miss so many clear, but sticky messes like the residual adhesive from tape, that gather dirt really quickly and become harder to clean with time.

I like what you said about using consistent patterns like paining the surface may make me motivated to clean because of the imagination, setting reminders for things I don't remember to clean, and keeping surfaces clutter-free so that it makes it easier to clean the next time. Thank you this is all helpful to me, because I have trouble keeping tidy from my mental health and was never taught how to clean.

Yes!!! I always get frustrated when someone else cleans something, and it "looks" clean, but you can still feel that it's not! And my mom taught me the same thing about sweeping in a patten, to make sure i didn't miss spots!

I can definitely feel that dirt. Touch does a lot more for cleaning than sight when cleaning anything in the kitchen.

Since you use your hands for so much stuff like this, do you end up doing a ton of handwashing, or do you just not worry about it until you actually need your hands clean?

I wash my hands fairly often. But especially when they feel grimy or I want them clean for food prep
