You really did your research on this one, Sue .. More fun facts and stories than you could poke a stick at ! 😄.. You haven't left me much to say about this fantastic song or Boney M, except that they had a suitcase full of catchy / dancey / sing-a-long songs that still sound great today .. And "Sunny" is one of my very favourites by them .. I also loved Bobby Hebb's original too.

PS - Although it's slightly before the main years of the disco era, a fun song to check out at some point would be "Heartbeat ( It's A Lovebeat )" from 1973 by Canadian group The DeFranco Family" .. As you would probably know, they were like The Osmonds and The Jackson Five, having a very young lead singer .. This song was only a minor hit here in Australia, but it still sticks in my memory .. Boney M. was a disco band produced by Frank Farian that had international success, especially in the 1970s, with songs such as Daddy Cool, Rivers of Babylon and Ma Baker. Boney M. has sold over 150 million records worldwide, including more than 60 million singles. If I'm not mistaken, the contract with the group was limited to a certain period of time. If I'm not mistaken, after the group dissolved, they tried to found a new one, but that was banned because of copyright. The group was brought from Jamaica. Everything else was history. Imagine Frank Faraian went to Jamaica and got some unknown group and signed a temporary record deal with them like Boney M

In fact, the four of them had been living in Europe for some time then. Bobby from Aruba was living in Netherlands. Liz and Maizie were living in England and Marcia was living in Germany at the time.
