NL plays alt f4 gets through the whole first episode saying how fun it is and liking it. NL in game that simulates something he does on the regular 5:07
Currently I'm learning to drive and using this simulator to practice without a car. Seeing NL having the same experience is really cool. Keep it up NL!
@@Fridalfr Hey, I recently passed an exam and sometimes drive in the city :) You can do it! Practice is the key. First time was really scary for me but each time I gain a little confidence.
I am doing the same thing. Having to put on seatbelts, start engines, shift gears is good practice. But it doesn't give me as wide a peripheral vision as the real thing, (putting it in 3rd person feels like cheating because there's too wide a field of view, but inside the car feels like I am blind in one eye) there's no depth perception (on the 2D mode, maybe it will on VR?) and the mirror is too low res. I am thinking of getting a driving/racing wheel. But they are all bulky, ugly, and expensive and I don't really play many driving games not counting stuff like GTA.
I think the U turn training is bugged, because I'd successfully make a U turn within the parameters, then it'd say that I drove out of the driving area. And I have no idea what it wants me to do to finish the parallel parking part. I parked but now it's telling me to stop in between the start and finish line. What? If I stop in either the "parking spot" or the road nothing happens. If I back out where I came from or drive beyond what's ahead I fail the test.
41:40 oh, this game IS bad. It failed me once because I stopped before a crossing to let a pedestrian cross the road. In fact, this game is so bad that it's actually good. Free driving mode with >50% traffic and emergency situations enabled is the true test. How long can you survive before the janky AI makes you crash?
Yeah, thought the same, especially since you can't use the middle mirror in certain cars (like small delivery caddies) or when you got your trunk loaded and such
also NL: makes a right on red without stopping, doesn't know that you're supposed to signal when entering and exiting a roundabout, stops with half his car past the stop line
@@recurveninja It depends on jurisdiction. In British Columbia the law is to only signal when exiting a roundabout without going straight through (for smaller ones), and never when entering. Part of the game's problem is we have no idea which set of laws it's using. The no stop right on red was bad though.
I've never driven a car in my life and I've been STRUGGLING but now seeing Northernlion struggle on the same things gave me room to breathe because it's not because I suck lord 😂😂
"A J-turn is a driving maneuver in which a reversing vehicle is spun 180 degrees and continues, facing forward, without changing direction of travel." Wait, what kind of driving test did you take?
Yo...as someone who doesn’t exactly drive that safely... I managed to pass my drivers test and earn my license...but... that shit.......it seems impossible
I mean cmon I yell at people on the road constantly for doing stuff wrong and I can’t find a single thing that he’s violating besides maybe driving too slowly or quickly for brief moments....I GET COPS GOING RIGHT BY ME WHILE IM GOING 15 MPH OVER ALL THE DAMN TIME WITH NO CARES, heck the Ai is driving far worse!
This reminds me of the video of Jack Septickeye playing Jump King, and by the end he just screams with agony every time he falls. In both cases, the pain is visceral to the audience.
if you even somehow stall an automatic just never drive again. A Prius was probably parked somehwere in that carpark, whenever there is a prius something bad always happens.
man you guys can do the driving test with and automatic? That's fancy, I'm rocking manual and crying in my shower everyday for screwing the paralel parking everytime
@@umbaupause As someone who drives a manual, it's so much easier imo. You have so much more control of the car if you have good brake and clutch control. Maybe it's because I don't drive automatic very often but it's much harder to control your speed for parallel parking.
It's a million times easier in a manual. Having actual control over how fast the car is actually moving is a huge plus. It's so much easier to feel the clutch than ride the brake to control your speed.
This game would be far more interesting IMO if there were AI traffic and you actually had to like, drive in a city and obey traffic laws with real traffic and hwhatnot EDIT: Turns out this game does indeed have traffic. I apologize to my family for the dishonor my careless and wrongful words have brought upon them.
@@LookingGlass1865 Bc we have the strictest Driving School/Laws on the Planet. Everything NL did wrong he actually did wrong, it wasn't the games fault, the game is actually pretty good (as far as I can tell from watching)
It’s been 9 months… but yup! Isn’t it in some countries you have to pass their driving test to drive if you are on a work visa but if you have a German driving license you don’t have to take any other tests? It’s the gold standard. My opa and oma are from Passau and opa has told me about his driving test around 1950s. Insane, but that’s how it should be. My state’s 3 main cities are always top 5 for worst drivers :(
You are increasingly whiny and antagonistic to anyone you perceive as whiny and antagonistic; yes, yes I’m not reading any more of your comments, I get it
It's interesting that I feel NL has kinda started becoming more hostile lately, BUT to his credit it got to the point where even he realized it - I'm sure he will continue to dial it back. I also get that it's his brand of 'comedy' to an extent, but at some point it turns from funny to just awkward. I think there's value in discussing that.
Everyone knows that the best video games are extremely pedantic
NL arguing with the game is my favorite part.
he didn't leavea da gap!
@@Northernlion "What are you talking about" nice IRL shoulder check tho ngl
He should be on that Worst Driver in Canada show.

too real, NL, too real 😂
I watched this episode first then went back to watch the other. Fucking laughed so hard how excited he was at first then became so tilted in this one.
Every time he says "squeeb" it makes me uncomfortable but I can't stop watching
Squeeb me Eggdaddy UwU
37:20 the cop appears perfectly in the mirror as NL is taking up 2 lanes
Just slides into frame so perfectly
This game seems harder than ALT F4
This segment would have been more highly pogged with Deadly Premonition music in the background
Oh, that jazzy bluegrass I don't know what going on while people are talking about a murder or something.
This was...pretty accurate to how I learned how to drive
This game really needs better feedback for the player, something like a killcam where it flags your violation or something

To be honest, it's extremely annoying that the game insta-yeets you whenever you hit the line, on a minutes long test...
Yeah it would be more sensible if it just tells you and deducts points or something, when you violate some rule instead of having you restart
It does come to wonder......WHO HAS THIS SMALL OF A ROAD?? Even parking spaces are larger than this

A lot of driving instructors teach to reverse using only side mirrors , and it is indeed easier

I've always done it at the start by looking behind, it's just easier, but then when I get halfway in I switch to the mirrors.

Isn’t a J turn that thing everyone does in GTA to transition from driving backwards to driving forwards? Do they call U turns J turns in Canada?
The game calls it a u turn he keeps saying j turn in America it’s a K turn
