Yes you will need a 3/8 fuel line disconnect tool such as this amzn.to/3sBev4b

How do you know if it's the fuel filter

Fuel filter could show multiple issues from not starting, lack of power, misfire etc. it’s just good maintenance to swap it out once in awhile.

Could this be the cause of the like chugging I have especially in lower rpm’s? Like I see that needle jumping a bit and sometimes it feels like the gas isn’t coming through all the way

I have the same problem when I'm stopped at a red light. I'm hoping this will fix the problem.

Fuel filter does not typically cause a performance issue.

@@mistya59 Car manufacturer's have 'Scheduled Maintenance" for each car. Fuel filters are typically changed at ~50k miles. As it gets restricted the fuel pump and fuel pump relay work "harder" to compensate. This can lead to diminished life for these components.

Hey... Got a 2010 Cobalt.... Could a clogged filter set a P0171 code?. I changed mine about 3 years ago but now I'm out of ideas....

Supposedly, I have the same code, but on an 05, changing mine currently, I’ll let you know if it fixed it
