Rs3 is the worst game ever.
You OS player? Both great games. I really dont understand the animosity between both communities..

@RSstorm os players hate rs3 because they spent 10000+ hours and many years playing runescape then in 2011 were forced over to rs3 which is much different.
They wouldn't have hated it if there was a choice, most likely.
@@Atlanick More likely it was because eoc wasn't good on release. It's nothing like how it is today. First impressions are pretty big after all, but I'm sure there's a lot of oldschool elitists that have never even played rs3. They ride the bandwagon to avoid becoming a social outcast since hating rs3 is 'in'.

I had an account for over 6 years and when forced to move to eoc I quit for a long time and was very upset.

It's so refreshing to see an OSRS player approach RS3 with an open mind and try to enjoy themselves. Very pleasantly surprised by the positive attitude and the fun you're having shows through. Subscribing and looking forward to more content, both RS3 and OSRS.
I started rs3 from a maxed osrs account and it's fun finding new things to mess with and figure out
i agree, its great to see rs3 played - not compared as what went wrong, because both games play to their own strengths.
I know this video is a year old now, but I just came across it. I'm so glad to watch someone who has very limited RS3 experience. RS3 and OSRS have been huge parts of my life. I still play RS3 and want to get back into OSRS and watching you has been a joy. Love the video so far
I'm super impressed you did a lot of this on your own (and some RUclips comments) without getting overwhelmed. I think content like this is great for people like me, who want to get into the game but need/want someone along the journey to explain things when it gets overwhelming!
As someone who quit RS3 to go to OSRS, watching this series is great to have a fresh perspective on RS3. I'm 4h in and am having a lot of fun through you. Thanks a lot

I've never watched you before I started watching this video. About a week and a half after I started, I just finished all 12 hours of it. I watched as you learned the game more and more and eventually surpassed my own ironman. I stopped watching for about 2 days cause i was jealous you had surpassed mine but I couldn't stay away. I soaked up all my salt and continued watching and just finished it up. It was a great series and i'll now be free to check out some of your other videos!

as a fulltime rs3 player it was great to see someone new jump in n just enjoying everything i take for granted n am so accustomed to
I recently had the thought of watching this again. It's so much fun seeing someone who hasn't played RS3 (but played OSRS) have fun in this game. This must be how it feels to watch a friend play a game you have a lot of hours in. Too bad recent events made Waydot move away from Jagex games.

I am 100% shelving this video for when I finish FF14 Danwtrail, Trails through Daybreak, and FF9 on the Switch. I want to actually sit down and play through RS3 as a member for the first time in my life. I've always played RS as a f2p player, but now it's time to really see where this game goes and this video will make the perfect companion piece as I game away, especially with the video on loop.
wow man. as a long term RS3 player it is amazing to see your progression and learning experience through the game. You are picking up on stuff really fast! :)
Took me a day or 3 but I've watched it from start to finish and I must say... you are one lucky son of a muggle.
obviously there are parts where you struggled but jeeeeeeezus I felt jealous of your droprates like 90% of the time!
Thank you for putting all of these episodes together, they made for an amazing watch during my grind for masterwork on my ironman.

Thank you for making this series Waydot! I had stopped playing Runescape for a couple of years. After watching this video, I started playing again. Its been fun figuring out the new stuff so far.

I also recently started playing RS3 as a long time but casual OSRS player. Really enjoying it so far, while the combat takes some getting used to and I still don't fully have my head wrapped around it I don't think it's as bad as most make it out to be. Really enjoy the new skills in the game and the amount of PvM content is staggering.
the best thing you can do if you actually enjoy it is play osrs and trade gp.
100m osrs to 720m rs3 from the first site i found.
If you don't really know what to do with abilities, then I'd advice to use revolution (automatically uses abilities from left to right). On the wiki you can find set-ups. I'd advice to use different bars for single target and multi target.
If you want to make your own set-up, then you can do something like this (from left to right): +/- 4 ultimate & threshold abilities, 5-6 basic abilities. For the ultimate and threshold order look at the average ability damage/ adrenaline. For the basic abilities just go for raw damage (don't bother with combo damage as you don't do manual). Weave in stuns against tougher enemies. For aoe prioritise aoe abilities.
Also put surge (mage ability) in every ability bar, but outside the auto-cast thing). So you can manually get out of sticky situations or just want to get somewhere faster.
Never seen your content before and only play RS3 but have never gave Ironman or really Questing a thought. This is really making me want to jump back in after a year long break and try Ironman for the first time. Glad I subbed!

I'm definitely hardcore OSRS, but I was always curious about RS3. Logged in a couple times but it's clear that it's not runescape how it was AT ALL. It's a completely different game. And I'm hesitant to put in the time and effort to learn a game the size of runescape all over again. And I think that's the sentiment for a lot of people who aren't just mad it exists in the first place

I'm glad you mentioned Burthorpe and Taverly being a lot closer than you remember in OSRS, when I came back from one of the times I "quit" RS I had the same experience

To add onto other comments - I get that you don't want to continue the series as-is, but I think there's room for a low-frequency series that continues with this same account, but you set whichever goals you want that you would actually enjoy playing for casually

I’ve played on and off for 21 years now and I’m still not 100% sure how rs3 works I just play it like I used to with legacy combat. Really cool channel man I recently started osrs and thought it was so sweet I could get steel (g). Made me wonder what an osrs player would think of rs3, glad I found you!

I watched this while doing DXP in RS3 after returning after 6 years. Very enjoyable, hope to see more. Trying to get Archeology to 99 because I got kicked out of the max guild on it's release and I got sad as through the video you surpassed my level in it, lol.

Both pronunciations are technically correct, it just depends on dialect.

@@HoHhoch Right, but it's a French word. That's like saying the British are correct for pronouncing 'Fillet' as 'Fill-et' when that's just not true. Taking a word from it's native language and changing the pronunciation isn't correct. like when someone says 'Axe' instead of 'ask' it's an incorrect pronunciation/annunciation.
Not that there's an inherently big deal about saying a word wrong, the comment was meant in good fun as it seems Waydot took it as well.
20:40 I think because we run a little faster and have way more run energy, it feels like the game is smaller

New Sub here, once osrs came out i played it for the first 4 months and went back to rs3 becaue im a slow player. Not at all efficient at the game but ive always had fun.
With thay being said i didnt want to redo all those quest and achievements i had sixnr i started playing in 2004. (WHEN I SAY IM A SLOW PLAYER OM VERY SLOW ) fast-forward to 2019 and im CB lvl 138 with base 80 stats coming up on my 20 year cape. I recently stopped playing but aftwr watching this im going to get back in and pick up where i left off.

Nothing wrong with taking the game slower man, I have the freedom to play a lot more hours in a day than most people and sometimes that can be both a blessing and a curse haha. enjoy it at your own pace bro.

im at hour 7 right now its fun to see whats to come as someone who started RS3 less than a week ago during off work hour. moving slowly but surely. last time I played runescape oldschool was the only live game like 15 years ago.

I have a 124 combat in OSRS. I’ve played since 2006. I quit when ECO came out.
I finally gave rs3 a chance in 2024, and wow. Not bad, anymore. lol.
Being in me 30s with a career and a life. I LOVE the quality of life of rs3. I don’t have months and months to offer for just 1 skill anymore. Nor do I want to anymore. lmao.
Rs3 is surprisingly bad ass. I love the new range rework, same with magic, necro, etc. smithing, mining and so many other skills are just so much more enjoyable AND FASTER. again… most of us are in our 30s… we have other responsibilities…
if you dont let the activity bar drain all the way you continue to mine faster/more efficiently. you can continuously click, to keep that bar full.
it was meant to make rs3 a little more afk, but more rewarding if you didnt afk and were actually active while skilling
I just started a couple weeks ago and my reactions were practically the same as yours coming from osrs lol a lot of it has been very refreshing so far and i'm having fun again

Welp, much like settled and Tileman got me back into a crippling OSRS addiction, this video finally got me to actually get into RS3 without feeling lost, overwhelmed and guilty
The game's very detached from the Runescape I loved, but honestly, it could be worse. I'm not having a bad time and looking forward to giving bossing a try
You can tell that the devs put a lot of love into the game.. it’s a shame that it has such insane microtransactions

I played RS2 and OSRS since its release, said I would never try RS3 as I hated EOC but gave it a go 3 years ago and now im maxed, play daily and haven’t played osrs in over a year.
I literally sat and watching this in 1 sitting while playing Runescape....i don't think i have a problem.

always hated the stiga OSRS players have for RS3 I've played for 15 or so years too and love them jsut as much as each other for different reasons, hopefully more creators start doing this too
I haven't looked at rs3 since divination came out. I got to where I did dailies then logged out. This is kinda nostalgic, but also, holy cow has this game changed a lot.

Came back after not playing rs since 2012. Played osrs for 3 weeks. Satisfied all my nostalgia needs and immediately switched to rs3 which I ended up finding way more entertaining. Much more to do, more interactive skilling and way less need to afk grind. But I understand why someone might prefer osrs.
Update: 3 hours in... might take a nappy nap soon. Going to no life it
