With the object import, you will be able to import you own blocks (any 3D object) So you can basically play with anything the community will create. The're is already a sizeable collection of community made objects available on maniapark.
I used to play Trackmania Nations Forever and loved it. I bought Trackmania 2 Stadium about a week ago and I am enjoying it as much as I used to. What I miss is being able to use the Volvo 240 that you could download from the old Carpark and I hope that someone converts it for Trackmania 2. I grew up in the 240 series Volvo's(240, 242, 244 and 245) and they are close to my heart.
Now I can finally buy TM2. After years of playing all the games a trackmania with only 1 envroment kinda killed my mood but now Holy crap it's back and better!!
I'm not an Ubisoft fan. Their DRM approach is way too aggressive, but I think Nadeo are one of the few software houses out there who are capturing the essence of gaming and pushing it forward: 1. User generated experiences. 2. Competitive, skill-based gameplay. 3. An evolving graphics engine to rival anyone elses out there.
stadium in maniaplanet will have a new game engine, obviously focusing on graphics only, but this also means that the chance of having less or no bugs is quite high, so i'm looking forward to it! :)
If this game really will be free then that's a great idea, I mean it will make Maniaplanet a lot more popular and there will be way more players on it, it would probably inspire them to buy TM2 Canyon and Valley too

Great considering the state of Nations, I'm glad Ubisoft stepped in when they did, but still let Nadeo do there own thing. On the Nations side of things, Is been in slow decline ever since the freezone was introduced, even though Nadeo had to implement something due to financial situations and certain sponsor companies backing out. This will not only introduce Nations players to Maniaplanet, but will also attracts completely new players due to it being a free to play.
I'm glad Trackmania and Nadeo understand that Drum 'n' Bass was the best choice for a racing/driving game. Dubstep is not built for high speed racing...or any other fast paced action. When will the rest of the gaming industry get that...
Bought this game on steam . This game can't be downloaded properly . When try to download it says that it downloaded 108mb. When i launch the game it leaves my in white and orange moving ditch and does nothing. Redownloading the game does nothing. THERE ARE 0 TUTORIALS HOW TO FIX THIS .
At release there will be new blocks and perhaps you will see more advantage in buying it. That having been said, there will also be a free version at release. So you don't have to buy it, unless you want some of the extra things that ManiaPlanet has to offer.
I think you can import them because the System how tracks are saved is same as in TMF I think.. When you try to open a Canyon-Track in TMNU/TMNF it only says that it doesn't have the environment and when the environment has the same name and same blocks it can be imported
This was made by a "fan" who was hired by Nadeo. And he was making videos at this quality and editing skill before he got hired, thus why he caught the attention of Nadeo. Do a youtube search for "Ride On! TrackMania" by sprintmovies. You won't be disappointed. :)

Stadium will join the ManiaPlanet family and benefit from all the ManiaPlanet features such as: Title Pack creation, custom gamemodes, 3D object import, ManiaPub, etc. Besides these, TrackMania² Stadium will also benefit from the improved game engine used in TrackMania² Canyon and ShootMania Storm, meaning a better management of light and shadows, among other goodies.

I started playing Nations when it launched in 2006 and now after playing a bit of Stadium beta I can say the great game is back! Works in Linux through Wine just fine.
Considering that Maniaplanet is a pretty different game engine with lots of changes to support SM and QM just to say one thing, the most that could happen is that Nadeo releases a converter for TMN-TMUF stadium tracks to comvert them to something maniaplanet can play (and in fact I heard that they are doing this). Anything beyond that would be pretty much impossible I think.

Hi Dread I've been joyfully stadium racing on TM1 for at least 5 years (mostly laps) The racing is very competitive and exciting. To me TM2 is a drag. These endless 'best time' runs are just tedious. Nobody races. I've given it 1 1/2 years to sort itself out, but I'm giving up and going back to TM1. I was expecting so much more from TM2

track mania is a very competive game i like it

Honestly, I hovered around top 100 for 6 months, only a couple of days top 10. But I was there, 8th or 9th. :D

This installement of TM2 will be free. It's just Stadium bumped up the new engine. But people love it so much they had to put it in TM2.

They can handle Trackmania. I have a horrible PC and it runs incredibly smooth on max settings, an Xbox 360 could probably do the same.

Hey there will be more TM2 Enviroments of course! TM2 Stadium doesn't count because it's just TMNF on ManiaPlanet
Currently you can play it completely free because it's still in beta. At release there will be a free version with some limitations.
