    Hi Mitch. Your neighbor again. Just wanted to say something about your videos. I am a retired airline pilot that flew all around the world many times and I wish I had you to give me a weather briefing. Your briefings are far better than any weather briefing I ever received. Probably better than any commercial pilot ever received.I know they are the best I’ve ever seen. You can also communicate to the general public and put it in layman’s terms. You are a very good teacher. Keep it up. God Bless

    Mitch, I am glued to your channel. Thank you for what you do. After 20 years in the AF and 20 years as a city cop, I bought my dream home in Lynn Haven Florida, which is next to Panama City. Please say a prayer for us. I am very concerned. This area as you know got hit by Michael and I thought it would not happen again in my life time. Again, thank you and prayers for us.

    I live between Tampa and Orlando, closer to Tampa. If Tampa Bay gets the dirty side, it could be catastrophic like Katrina catastrophic. The streets of downtown Tampa flood with a hard heavy afternoon rain..... praying it misses us. Praying for everyone in the line of the storm.

    • @coolinwithlaura4114
      @coolinwithlaura4114 Месяц назад +4

      I've been in this state for over 30 years and it seems quite disrespectful that you would say Katrina type catastrophic results they are literally trapped in a bowl we are a plate with no sides it might cause a significant unrepairable amount of damage to us but it will never cause the kind of damage it caused to those poor people in Louisiana

    • @jessjess23brooks89
      @jessjess23brooks89 Месяц назад +3

      @@coolinwithlaura4114I think the one way both areas are similar is the New Orleans back then and Tampa now does not have the proper infrastructure to deal with direct hurricane impacts. A direct hit to Tampa would completely change the coast.
      However, the largest and most important difference is that Florida's government and disaster relief would never abandon its residents in the way LA did. So it really isn't all that comparable. That was a worst case scenario meeting glaring incompetence that I hope we never see in this country again.

    Hi Mitch. I am in Winter Haven FL between Tampa and Orlando. Looks like I will get a LOT of wind and rain, maybe tornadoes. That is always the danger for us. The actual storms are not usually horrible for us, but it is the tornadoes from the outer bands that damage all the mobile homes. After surviving IAN in a mobile home by myself, I am actually glad I am in a rehab. If I was at home, I would already be at the special needs shelter. I need power to run my oxygen and I am on hospice so I need extra help. The special needs shelters take really good care of everyone. Nursing and doctor care 24/7 during the storm. They are amazing.

    I've studied the weather as a hobby for decades and one thing I've realized how favorable the environment is is only part of the equation. We also need to get radar images of the system as intensifying tropical storm and analyze its structure. Storms have underperformed this year because even though the environment was favorable the storms core was unorganized with pockets of dry wrapping into the center. I see all these predictions of a really strong storm but I don't think we should be making these predictions until the radar shows a healthy intensifying cat 1. I think a really strong storm is possible but we can't say its likely until we have a quickly intensifying storm.

      Wondered the same thing for awhile, maybe it's factored into future models but I kind of doubt it. With the new AI modeling I'd bet there will be some of that taken into account but it may take awhile for those to get really good. Sadly AI will outpace humans soon in so many science fields but it won't be as entertaining as Mitch!!

    You have to explain the Atlantic BIGHT Hilton Head/ Beaufort area very, very strong Jetstream while it's not fully studied yet, I have worked there for years and chances of it significantly impacting the area with seriousness are very slim. Savannah is close to it as well. Even hurricanes that come directly from the Atlantic toward East Coast are rare even if they do they won't have enough strength to fully go through, they usually only skim the coast directly or stay off shore. They always go through Florida first and take the Brunt. Savannah, Beaufort always gets missed that's why Jim always skips to Charleston

    I’m telling ya. There is someone on TikTok that posted a video a couple years ago about THIS hurricane hitting the east cost this year this month calling for a catastrophic hurricane like never before! The same person had a previous video about the volcanic eruption at Yellowstone and was only one day off. Weirdest mess I’ve ever seen. I was waiting to see how this panned out but I’m kinda worried now because that video said east coast, September. They called it something like a super hurricane or something I can’t recall. I’d have to look for the video. I know I saved it. They only posted two. That and the one about Yellowstone like two years ago.

    Hurricane John did a ri and went from a ts to a cat 3 in 24hrs. The models didnot handle John well There the water is cooler than where poss Helene is or will be where extreme warm water with the gulf loop is. Johns strengthening outflow has sinking air sw of poss. Helene but on its east side rapid updrafts continue. 11pm update..1002mb no center of circulation yet. It had a tick west hopefully that will lessen the surge into Tampa bay and nearby cities. ( model track will wobble a bit like usuall) Its forcast to be large so many hours of water push into the bay. Its moving n/ nw at 6 and should increase speed and may leave that sinking air to the sw from John. Which should allow storm development on its west side tomorrow or later...im interested to see if dry air gets injested into it...the enviroment is better than what john had. With very warm water gulf loop..thankyou Mitch for all the details!..its 130 am lol😴

    • @scott2726
      @scott2726 Месяц назад

      Yeah Tampa the large population and very vulnerable to surge we like that latest tick west to lessen the surge..but the forcast is a large storm with that angle many hours of water pushing into the bay. There will be slight wobbles but stays in the cone.
