- Hello friends! Today we are going to explore 'City of Destiny' Visakhapatnam and admire its beauty! Visakhapatnam is a coastal, port city in Andhra Pradesh. It is often called "The Jewel of the East Coast", located on the Eastern coast of India. It is situated among the hills of the Eastern Ghats and facing the Bay of Bengal to the East. It is the administrative headquarters of Visakhapatnam District and is also home of the Eastern Naval Command of the Indian Navy. Historically, the city was named after the God of valour Vishakha. It was a part of the Kalinga Kingdom, under Ashoka the Great's rule in ancient India. Later on it was ruled by Vengi. After Vengi Pallava, Chola and Ganga dynasties ruled the city in different historical periods. In 15th Century it became a part of Vijayanagar Empire. It is often called the best tourism destination in Andhra Pradesh. From Lakes to cool Beaches, from beautiful Hill Ranges to Caves and Valleys, Visakhapatnam has them all. The district has many tourism spots that represent the Culture and Heritage of the true India. Visakhapatnam (also known locally as Vizag) is the largest city in Andhra Pradesh. It is primarily an industrial city, but also attracts tourists due to its unspoiled sandy beaches, well built and maintained parks, Buddhist Remnant sites and nearby scenic areas, such as the Araku Valley. The city has a population of about 2 million. VUDA park water pond, Visakhapatnam Vizag is sometimes called The Goa of the East. Just like its west coast counterpart, it has beautiful virgin beaches, laterite hillocks, smooth roads and stunning landscape. Health-tourism is a fast developing industry. Visakhapatnam is variously called Jewel on the Coramandel Coast, Steel city, and the City of Destiny. The local language is Telugu. There is considerable concentration of Marwaris, Odia, Bengalis, Punjabis, Tamil and Malayalees. In addition, there is a large population of migrant workers from other parts of India who have been drawn to the area by the abundance of work at locally based companies, such as Vizag Steel Plant and Hindustan Shipyard. Vizag is connected by air to Hyderabad, Bangalore, Chennai, Tirupati, Delhi, Mumbai, Bhubaneswar, Kochi, Dubai, Kuala Lumpur and Singapore through its customs airport, an airport with restricted access, by Air India, SpiceJet and IndiGo. Singapore Airlines' subsidiary Silkair is the first non-Indian airline to operate at the city. AirAsia and Malindo Air from Malaysia operate scheduled flights from Kuala Lumpur.

Vizag is the best place but . this City faces cyclones every year . Next 30 years vizag and Chennai will mix in the bay of bangal. Amaravati is not a bad plan already vijayavada city conned amaravati ex hydrabad connected with sikindrabad. If there are many small big towns in amaravati. Mangalagiri uddandarayundi pale etc . Already many international and national educational institutions came for amaravati. But currently the government has changed and all is stopped. Finally I am not against vizag but I am against 3 capitals . Ex South Africa has 3 capitals with natural resources but South Africa is not developed. egypt has one big city kairo city it jenarates more g.d.p than total South Africa egypt not have any natural resources and other advantage still one big city helping total country.

Visakhapatnam is Reo de Janeiro (Brazil) of India! Two cities are almost same. Only difference is Reo de Janeiro has more highrise buildings on beach than Vizag.

Vizag shall, would and will be the capital of AP... It should have been made the capital of AP in 2014 only, but a blunder mistake was done then... Anyhow it's better late than never..... After split of Telangana, Vizag should have been declared Capital of Andra.
Vizag has natural harbor, Ship building, Steel plant, Tourist attraction, & resource rich states Chhattisgarh & Orissa.
Andra Govt should have enabled MSME cluster for Ship building, Heavy equipment fabrication etc in Vizag in 2014.
Instead, Chandra Babu Naidu wanted to develop new City , Amravati, near Vijayawada which is purely an Agricultural trading Center.
Amravati can't compete & grow as it doesn't have Port, Raw material, MSMEs and is surrounded by Chennai, Bangalore & Hyderabad .
Chandra Babu Naidu has no vision.

Visakhapatnam of Andhra Pradesh best coastal city beacuause of worst politics central government stepmother policy and state caste based politics effected the City of not reached it's prefect destination it's one the important City for IT development but in india everything is politically motivated instead of worth now atleast state educated and visanory personas come forward to concentrate the city to reach it's highest level.
As a citizen of vizag we don't need capital. As of now it's enough of inflation.
