Thanks for posting. I wasn't sure what the END would look or feel like. It was a good 8 years, and I'm glad they ended on a good note. Peace & Blessings to ALL.
wow this is heart wrenching, even with all the other cover bands this still feels like the end of an era, we were blessed to have shared the planet with the grateful dead...thanks for sharing...Not fade away ~~~
I felt the same way at night 2 at Citi last month, walking shakedown before the showing started getting choked up I HOPE there is a new configuration next year 🙏 TMNS NFA
Thank you for posting , loved this run of shows thru the 8 years, thank you to the band and the fans that makes it a great experience! Great song to end with!❤
It gives me chills to think of how enriched our lives have been by what appears to be just a rock and roll band. It was an incredible weekend of love and music ❤️⚡💙
I wasnt there this weekend, and didnt live stream either but couldnt help but shed a tear when those bears started marching at the end. What a fun couple years its been, so many great memories. Our love will NOT fade away! Thank you for capturing this❤
Thanks so very much for getting an old guy like me back on the bus! Went to my first show in 81 and went with my son the last two years. It’s really been a great, fun ride. I’m grateful to have been able to do it again! ❤❤❤❤❤❤
So many roads, and theirs has reached a Dead End. 55 years! of being a Dead Head. Thank you Thank you!!! You could always count on The Dead to put you in a good place! End of an Era.
Fun. Thanks for some reason brought a tear to these 67 year old eyes. Sounded pretty good looked pretty good I guess I’m just a sentimental old Deadhead.
John Mayer never , had it , IMO as for the correct vibe . He's a good actor, though. A extremely talented , Julliard graduate. "Guess, His Body is a wonderland, again . " Heard the Dead in 2010 ,first time . " Love seeing folks, in the Bay, however.
I never expected John or Anyone to be anyone other than themselves. That's what Jerry & the fellas wanted - I'm sure. Ya know, sc, these new fellas are from a new era. They never experienced the acid tests or other one-mind sessions that happened in those days. One-mind consciousness rarely comes natural - especially in our modern culture. John loved The Dead long before he met Bobby & Mickey that day at Capitol Records. Don Was chatted with Oteil & Mike on their Comes A Time podcast, and he tells the whole story. Don was the one who introduced John to them. ... I keep thinkin' ... Now, if only Bobby brings John, Oteil & Mickey into his Wolf Bros, All is well and the beat goes on ... with an orchestra, an acoustic And electric bass, & bagpipes 💜
I hadn't seen any of these guys after '95. But my daughter, who was born after that, really wanted me to go. WOW. I had no idea. Low expectations knocked out of the park. I think old Jer would approve. 🎉😅❤
I'm so glad you went! This tour was amazing. I've been able to share many special shows with my daughters since 2015 and my mind was blown every time because the magic was back! It was a great run & I know now this music and this scene will never die
They opened Fridays show with NFA. One person in the chat said and I quote " They will probably end Sundays show with NFA". Now that is some insight. Holy smokes and kudos to that person for one heck of a call !
Gives me chills to watch - thank you for sharing! Must've been so amazing to be there. I hope they do something huge for the 60th/30th & bring back the drones!
Thank You for posting this. I think this tour was Bobby's best year on vocals in a while and he was really on during this show. Great Job Guys, You'll be missed 😢😢❤❤
Thank you for sharing this video! Some of us couldn't make it to the last show and I am glad that you filmed the drone show. Kind of a cool way to put a cap on this version of the band.
Great stuff. So much emotion. Really feels like the end in a way that not even Fare Thee Well did. Good on them for going out strong. Here’s to whatever endeavors they each get into in the future.
I don't think I will hear anyone ecomplain about the Special FX on this Dead Recording, You know our love will not Fade Away... but our cyncism hopefully tails off
I don’t get D&Co. stopping their tours now. This year is the 1st year, of 8, where they actually lifted off & proved that the new members finally are “getting” the oneness of this music. Clearly, Mayer finally gets what his role is, as part of a single sound, as opposed to the hotshot role…. It’s sad that the fresh potential, reached after 8 years of apprenticeship, will not begin. This ending bit (Not Fade Away) was clearly a Bobby’s choice as a fitting ending…. (I would have preferred Black Muddy River after that awesome Trucking) Oh well…..
Feel that. But nothing lasts forever. We got 30 years of Jerry & 8 of DeadCo & everything in between. The old guard deserves to call it whenever they feel called to. Going out on a high note, cant ask for more than that. The music lives on....💀🥀🙏
I’m betting it’s a restructuring of the Dead corporation……..Billy out and a new hired Gun in. Plus, Johnny boy wants to tour on his own so I’d expect some residencies in the future
@@jeff15116 the way I see it, it’s taken eight years for them to actually sound good as the current unit, whether Billie is in there or not. You can’t just stick new people in here and have what they’ve built over eight years. That just cannot happen. John Mayer, if you watch, recent interviews, has only recently realized what his actual role is in this band. Before he was just a hot shot throwing out licks call, but now he finally understands that it’s more a cohesive oneness, which makes the Grateful Dead so amazing. This took him over six years to develop. Only in the last several years has the band really stepped up to the level that is almost respectful in comparison. Good luck with residencies in other such ideas, because the new people are gonna take years to figure out how the game works…… With the age of Bobby, Ed, Mickey, sadly, this truly is the end of the line for D & Co.……
We distributed many of Srila Prabhupada's books and delicious prasadam (pure veg offered to Krsna) to the wonderful deadheads over the years. Great band and followers 🤸🧘
Although I didn't actually go to the concert, my first experience with the Grateful Dead was in Harrisburg, PA when they played City Island. A bunch of us devotees from Gita Nagari traveled down to do sankirtan and book distribution outside the concert. I was probably 11 years old at the time. I didn't realize it at the time. It was many years later before I realized I'd been at a Grateful Dead concert. The Grateful Dead have a history with devotees going back to when Srila Prabhupada chanted at the Mantra Rock Dance in San Francisco with Allen Ginsberg and Moby Grape.
That kit was Billy's and the invitation couldn't have been more clear after that Chicago show where Billy closed the show with NFA. Can't believe he didn't even show up to share the stage. Phil too. Total disappointment at how that all went down. Bobby and Mickey didn't deserve to be alone on that stage this night. They put too much into this along with the rest of us. We deserved better

The Dead have shown me that magic really does exist
It's hard to come by in this world but it is real. NFA 💀🥀🙏
They did...... all the way through '95. From '96 on, the true magic was gone....it left when Captain Trips did.

No this band will not fade away. John Mayer will rise again like a phoenix from the ashes. Love this whole band and him.
I have been saying this for two years...John is going to do like a jgb thing. Play the dead classics and mix in the 60s soul tunes
