hey old friend, it's been too long. I'm glad i came back to see you're still as bright as ever. if you're back here with me, look how far we've managed to come in such a beautiful way. for those just finding this, i hope you find the beauty in every note as we did when we fell in love too this.
my boyfriend was obsessed with this song as a teen and he sat me down and had me listen to this song. he said he always wanted to share this song with someone he really loved and cared about and it is now an incredibly special song to me.
I havent listened to this in forever... I'm 23 now Its almost been 10 years. crazy how time flies. I have recently gotten back to my emo/scene kid music... it's amazing
35 years old. Jack's Mannequin was the soundtrack to a very...unique time in my life during college with a girl I shared a very fun year with. No idea where she's at or what she's doing, but I'm sure whatever it is, she's having fun.
I'm 28 and this band makes me feel like I'm a child again sitting with my older brother loving every second of this album. Thanks bro for showing me beautiful music
Jesus, come on Anzi this was our song. Chicago summer 06. You didn't fall out of love you just forgot how we felt back then, all you have to do is remember x
I adore Andrew so much, that when I see anything about his illness I get upset to the point where I break down in tears. He is such a strong man, being able to overcome such a huge barrier to make music, and to help people through charity work. Nobody is more deserving than Andrew McMahon. I hope to see an even brighter future for him.
I heard this for the first time in years at the panic at the disco/weezer concert where Andrew's new band opened. My friends and I were freaking out because we recognized and used to love this song. Ah nostalgia
It has been more than 3 years since I first heard this song, and the lyrics "Dark blue dark blue, have you ever been alone in a crowded room?" are still some of the most touching lines I've ever heard. I love it. It's the perfect description of a feeling only some people have had, and everyone who has had it will recognise it in these lyrics. And recognising it comes with this overwhelming sense of relief. "I'm not alone. Other people have felt like this." And it connects those lonely people to each other through the music.
You should check out Bright Eyes. All of it, but specifically Hit The Switch, which has the line “I’m completely alone at a table of friends…..I feel nothing for them. NOTHING.”
2:21-3:09 is my favorite part. I'm 15 and was obviously pretty young when this song came out. I remember hearing it back then. I have no idea why this type of music doesn't get played on the radio.
+Vince Palmieri The answer is easy, this music isn't mindless beats that the low IQ society we live in can dance to in an effort to pick up an equally stupid mate like an animal.
WOW wow 10 years ago I was going through a major depression as a 16 year old. I remember walking to some field and laid down listening to this over and over. 😱😩🥳 This song just opened the door to some crazy memories 😪🤯
This is when music was good. When music meant something and made you truely feel something. When music touched your soul in a way no music could today. Nothing compares i dare you to challenge me on this. Something corporate gave us andrew mcmahon... i loved them before but then andrew showed me what music can really do to you. He is and always will be my favorite. His music has inspired me throughout many times in my life. I truely wish there was more music like this... or more people who understood. His music reaches in and tickles your insides... in the best way. This is how you should always feel when listening to music.
For those who don't get the video, it pays homage to the Jane Fonda classic "They Shoot Horses, Don't They?". Quick plot: set in Depression era 30's, people join a dance contest with a chance to win money (hard to come by during the Depression). What ensues is a grueling, inhumane contest, with people dying of exhaustion, etc. In the movie, Fonda's character is so distraught by the contest, she asks her partner to kill her. Hence, why the couple at the end kill themselves for not winning.
What are the lyrics at 2:48? Like, there's something said between "And it was me and you" and "and the whole town underwater" but I just can't make it out! I've been wondering this for YEARS
I got to see these guys open for The Fray back when I was a teenager. I honestly had no idea who they were at the time. But I've loved this song ever since.
This song and band are just amazing. Jack's Mannequin makes truly amazing music, and Andrew McMahon has a truly amazing voice. it all goes together perfectly. :)
I love a guy who can rock a piano! Andrew McMahon and Ben Folds pretty much take the cake. Who else is stoked Ben Folds is getting together with The Five to make a new album?? It's coming out on Tuesday! I'm going to be allllll over that.
Such a beautiful song and sang so beautifully 😍. I can totally relate to the lyrics; how you can be a crowded room and still feel alone until you feel connected to that one other person that maybe is going through something similar to you. Thanks for this one Andrew. ❤
Brings me back to high school cruising around with my friends at midnight with everyone in the car screaming this at the top of their lungs, the nostalgia is real lol
wow, i'm currently a high school freshman and after years of listening to nicki minaj and all that other stuff, i am so glad i came across this band. will definitely be on my playlist, this is perfection.
Haha - Born in 1992 and I am proud of your music selection. Avoid the emo word, go for "Scene phase" instead. ;) -- "It is a style, not an emotion guys! god!". lol
Was a fan of Something Corporate as a teen (and still am) but never knew about Jack's Mannequin until I was listening to a first season episode of the Man of The Hour podcast. Off-topic but great podcast to discover more great tunes like these.

I just found out that it was the frontman from Something Corporate.. I loved Something Corporate! Now that I found Jack's Mannequin, the excitement has returned..
Jack's Mannequin always seems to make me feel better and Andrew McMahon has been my inspiration for many years, my son's name is Jack Andrew because of this band and Andrew McMahon himself.
If you like Jack's Mannequin you should totally watch his documentary on hulu about his cancer. It is very good to watch and learn what he went through.
I just saw them last night too, @BTStorque! Was my first concert! Glad my friend convinced me to go. I loved Jack's Mannequin before, but even more now!
This was the song I listened to almost every night before I went to sleep, I did that for 7 years and then I got into Screamo. This is the only song I can listen to other than metal. This song can captivate anyone's attention... My #num. 1 song (:

Easily one of the best songs ever written. The whole album is a work of art.
my boyfriend was obsessed with this song as a teen and he sat me down and had me listen to this song. he said he always wanted to share this song with someone he really loved and cared about and it is now an incredibly special song to me.
That's a sweet story.
Everything In Transit is the best album ever written. It's that simple.
I started listening in 2008 and I feel like I relate to this music more now than ever before. Easily the most underrated band of my youth.
Am 40 and haven’t listen to this song in over 10 years. Takes me back to a time when life was less complicated.
So thankful to have been introduced to Jack's Mannequin in 2006. Glad to see others in the comments that we all share the same humbling history
I havent listened to this in forever... I'm 23 now Its almost been 10 years. crazy how time flies. I have recently gotten back to my emo/scene kid music... it's amazing

I met this man. He is simply one of the nicest and down to earth people I've ever met.
That's great! I like hearing stories about celebrities being nice.
This video low-key tugs at the heart strings
Jesus, come on Anzi this was our song. Chicago summer 06. You didn't fall out of love you just forgot how we felt back then, all you have to do is remember x

2022
2023 and seeing Andrew McMahon in December! Been waiting 20 years to even see a piece of Something Corporate!!
Jack's Mannequin is such an amazing, inspirational band. That's why I love them so much.
I adore Andrew so much, that when I see anything about his illness I get upset to the point where I break down in tears. He is such a strong man, being able to overcome such a huge barrier to make music, and to help people through charity work. Nobody is more deserving than Andrew McMahon. Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness. I wanted to see that tour sooooo bad!
I had the same experience!!

+Danielle Herz Just out of curiosity, do you listen to any of John Mayer's songs?
+Danielle Herz You may have heard Waiting On the World to Change by him. That's a good song if you're interested in checking it out
+Danielle Herz If only these kinds of songs were still played on the radio :/
+Vince Palmieri The answer is easy, this music isn't mindless beats that the low IQ society we live in can dance to in an effort to pick up an equally stupid mate like an animal.
You must think you're very intelligent.
Every time I miss being young and carefree I always come back to this song. Definitely my comfort song ❤

Its a shame this is the last night of Jacks. Thank you for all the great times Andrew and Co.
this is probably one of the addicting songs of all time
I got to see these guys open for The Fray back when I was a teenager. I honestly had no idea who they were at the time. But I've loved this song ever since.
This song carries some real wounds because of the one I got this from and another I gave it to. It's too good to not let them heal.
