An updated version of the classic "D. Lee Braun: Fundamentals of Trapshooting" video....Well done guys!
This is the best video you’ve ever done. Quick informative guidance. Very nice.
Wow, thanks!
There aren’t a lot of trap shooting instructional videos that are readily available. There are DVD’s out there and there are clinics to pay for but, your average younger person wants something like this. Quick, to the point, and right in front of their face. I know it takes time and being compensated would be ideal but this is it.
If we can get pros like you guys to keep this sort of thing going it will greatly impact the younger trap shooter or someone who knows nothing about American Trap.
Excellent video boys!!! I’ve been searching for the last 2 days for a videos similar to this from either one of you guys. No cigar but today I look and here it is. You gentlemen are top of the line. Great podcast keep it going!!!!!!!!!!
Great video guys! Looking forward to seeing more videos.
Awesome! Thank you!
Good video guys . If you planing to do more shooting videos, how about a shotkam ? Very informative at the post but down range we are in the “dark”. A picture is worth a thousand words ! Nonetheless my favorite podcast ,keep up the good work!!
YES! It will be the Shot Tracker!
👍,even better !!
I’d like to see more Shot Tracker video.
Great video. Thanks for sharing your hold points it is always interesting to see what works for some of the best shooters
Thanks for watching!
Great video Gentleman!
I like the informative videos the best.
Thanks 👍
Beautiful guns. Love the wood!!!!!
Very informative, liked it.
Glad to hear!
Great stuff gentlemen!
Thank you kindly!
Absolutely brilliant, top class
The information Ricky and Zach shared really helped, especially the toes grabbing the floor! .
How you use your body to , drive to the Target! And through it would be appreciated!
Regards Jp
Another great video 👍
Glad you enjoyed it
Great video. Always a good time watching how the top pro's shoot. It would be good to see this while using a shotkam so we can get a better idea on where you hold for how long, move to the target and what your actual sight picture looks like when you pull the trigger. I use a shotkam a lot when I practice and find it amazingly helpful seeing hold points , gun movement and best for seeing sight picture. Although I will say because of the excellent camera and editing work there is a ton of information in this video. I will watch it before going shooting, over and over. Thanks for sharing.
We are on it!
What's your reason for making a sound instead of just saying pull when calling for a bird?
To not move the head off the gun when calling for the bird. If you move your mouth to pronounce letters like the P in pull in changes your connection on the stock.
I agree. I call pull without the P.
Nice work! I’d be curious to know how much you guys tweak your custom stock compared to the factory stock. Grip and toe-out changes seem pretty common, but I’m interested in hearing about other changes.
We will get out some content for it.
Question for Ricky, what’s up with the double thumb tab before calling for the target?
Thanks for sharing
You bet!
Hi guys cool video
that helped a lot
Z & R, I always hear stay at home, don’t move, wait until you see the bird and lastly don’t anticipate the pull. I think we can all agree that it is a fine line between waiting to see the bird and getting beat badly. When I get beat I’m forced to come in from behind ultimately making a 30+ yard shot. Is there something in between? For example, stay home but move on the flash instead of waiting to see a full clay? Thank you for your time. By the way your show is great!

Thanks again for the program. Please need some help if is possible.Question is sometimes I see blurred when put the gun on hold point.what do you guy think about it or if I should hold on tap of the house.please if is possible any suggestions is and be appreciated.thanks
How hard are you pressing the gun to your cheek? Is this causing your eye to blur? If it is a hard focus area play with where you are looking out over the gun.
I know you guys have talked about holding on the house, but I have been too different clubs where the trap houses all look different in height. Then what do you do? Or all Trap houses supposed to be a certain height.
Tall or short hold on the house. Ricky never changes it no matter how tall the house is.
Guys, great video as usual. How about covering how to get used to a new gun quicker? I’m fairly new to trap (4 years) and started with a Remington 1100 Sporting. I recently picked up an older Daly SBT and getting back to my previous average has been slower than I expected. What are your thoughts on focused practice methods to get used to a new or different gun more quickly? TIA!

Absolutely loving these videos!
Just for clarification: when yall say front of the house. You mean this open side as in the farthest away?
On post 2 Ricky says he holds on the back corner inside a little. I always assumed from the podcast he holds right on the front of the house. But it’s actually inside the house. Am I correct?
Yep you got it on both counts!
Ricky, and Zach------- whats the POI on your K-80's ?? I am curious how high your guns shoot. Great video guys- Thanks !!!!!!!!
about 80/20 - 90/10
great video are you going to do one simliar to this but for doubles (feet positioning 1- 5)?
We are planning on doing it in Vernal at the Western Grand with Sean Hawley!
What chokes are you two using? Great Content!
Any choke as long as it is FULL
What choke do you recommend for ( singles ) when you break the bird at 35 yds from the muzzle ? Thanks. Btw what’s your favorite shot size for singles , shot size for HDCP ?
Full Full Full FULL
8's or 7.5's work just fine
Most commonly using 8s for singles and 7.5 for handicap.
@@traptalk27 Thanks !……
What are you shooting for loads? I like factory 3 dram,1 1/8 8s 1200 fps.I shoot them up front and for handicap.
Ricky - 1250fps (1 1/8) 7.5 Fiocchi White Rhino
Zach - 1235 fps (1 1/8) 7.5 Nitro 27s Remington
Shoot what is working for you!
From the time you get a solid mount til the time you call pull is about 2 seconds. Your thoughts on that.
Call for the bird when you are ready!
That really doesn’t answer the question.
Are you waiting to get the barrel still?
Can you elaborate on what is “ready “
I also noticed that you keep the mic on the right if you. How come?
Added to the Ask Us list!
What POI set up do you guys use ?👍
80/20
@@traptalk27 thank you that’s the same I use on my trap special 😉👍💥💥
Why does holding slightly inside, like Zach, promote a whippy gun swing?
For some shooters they feel the hard angles beats them and they throw the gun at it.
How about if your left handed?
Reverse everything you just saw.
Better eyes than me. I can’t see the gun moving.
