All I could think of once seeing this story is how her poor sister is out there alone now…the rescue people should’ve used her to lure her sister to trap her somehow. I worked for an animal shelter for 14 years and it breaks my heart to know the other dog is alone. I’m happy for this dog…but so sad for the other. I hope they can save her too.😢

@@Madronaxyz Unfortunately, her friend/sister was too smart to go in a trap. The rescuer monitors the area with cameras and when she is spotted, another trap will be set for her. We check the intakes at Chicago ACC daily to see if someone else has caught her and turned her in. We want nothing more than to find her.

It is sad that so many animal shelters put down shut down animals or put them in a category in which people are discouraged from adopting them.
An adult that has love in their heart and who has a bundle of patience will be able to help a dog that is suffering from some kind of abuse or trauma.
I have two of them currently. Best dogs I've ever had in my 47 years of life. I've had abuse and trauma, so I feel like I get them, and I feel like that makes me extremely patient and understanding of them. They are such sweet, loving souls. They are about 14 and 15 years old right now. My kids and I adopted them in 2010 and 2013. One had been used for breeding (or at least had puppies) and had her ears cropped with scissors. She was afraid of birds flying overhead when we first adopted her. I don't think she had been outside much. The other was confiscated from his previous "owner", and because of the circumstances, I believe he was a drug dealer's dog whose possessions all got confiscated, him included. They are both big babies who just needed safety and peace. And boy do they love us for simply providing safety and peace!

100% Bull Terrier and you cannot find a more loving dog, even after all she went through. The breed has a bad name not because they are inherently aggressive, but because they are raised to be aggressive.

Eh, wrong, her owner & you. There's no such thing as an American Pit Bull Terrier, and, she's not a Bull Terrier. She's, more than likely an American Staffordshire Terrier. If anyone says they have a "Pit" anything, they're using a nickname. There's pit fighting Rottweilers, Doberman Pinchers, Bulldogs, etc...hell, any dog can be trained to be a pit fighting dog! 😏

She's beautiful. I rescued a pittie mix pup 2 years ago. I sent her DNA to wisdom panel and thought to myself well that was probably a waste of money. Well was I wrong. I got an email they found Josie's brother. We connected and they were 100% siblings. They spent time at the same foster mom's house in PA before they were put up for adoption. They were formally known as the Taco Bell trio (nacho, gordito, Chalupa)
That is so cool! I adopted a pittie mix several years ago. Her DNA came back pit/ ridgeback/boxer. I had hoped to connect with a sibling at point. So far no luck
That MOMENT when a fearful animal shows complete trust in you is so moving. There are few experiences in life that overwhelm you with such emotion!

I've had rescues for the last 30 years. There is no way to describe the feeling when a rescue hits their own milestones, and starts to come out of their shell. It's amazing to watch them grow and they are still capable of loving unconditionally.
She takes care of your other baby,grooming him just like a mama dog would do! I made a promise to my self i have 1 dog and 6 cats, i want to adopt a senior dog a dog that needs extra care and extra love im right here!
