Treat the rover with hostility upon meeting him, since he is someone unknown, but once they are saved, have more trust towards him, not the way that happened with Chixia, since, once the rover saved them, she pointed a fucking cannon in his face. It's something basic but I think it would have worked better.
i don't know why but I like the pacing in this story more than the final product. simply because I'm tired of the thing where you just show up in a party - even you're a stranger and everybody already hangs out with you. this would have been much better with some adjustments. the overhaul feels like you're an isekai protagonist because you're the prophecized "hero" that could save humanity from the lament.
God I wish they’d kept the CBT story in the final release, the tone feels so much more distinct and realistic and gives you a better peek at what it’s like to live in a world infested by danger than just getting special treatment and awe immediately Like In this version of the story, it actually feels like Chixia and Yangyang are pretty close outside of Rover. And we get more cutscenes of the other characters!!

I personally quite like the middle and end part of the current story but i agree the beginning part of cbt cutscenes is way more fitting maybe they could change a little bit of it like that chixia scene but the cutscenes that we have currently is just a bit underwhelming compared to cbt version but fot the middle to end story chapter i think its great

Well, not only that, after the 1st CBT Tencent received a 50% stakes in Kuro Games, and as all know, they wanted their own genshin, and since they have half the company ... that’s what happened, also most likely it’s their fault that the game came out so unfinished

TLDR; I really wish that Kuro did not completely changed the storyline... Yes, there were some parts of the story where it could have been written differently/improved upon, but the rest is spectacularly done. Current plotline critique: I feel that as someone with a literature background, the new one given to us is lackluster. I do not get enough time to get to know the characters since the pacing is really skimping around and not enough time to process information (even now, I'm having a hard time understanding the plot of the current one). I cannot give direct points to which parts had me reread since it was just the entirety of the story such as the Threnodians, Lament, etc. The rushed the story and if I hadn't known of the rewrite, I would have thought that Kuro is bad at writing plots and loves throwing random plot as long as there is action in the end... And that comes to my next critique- the action. Cutscenes: The cutscenes are... Mediocre at best. NOT the details put into it, no. In fact, I am always amazed at the captured expressions in those cutscenes and other elements from clothes and haur ruffling, the dirt spreading, etc. But it's the overall story aspect given to us. If we compare the CBT of Crownless to the new one, the new one cannot even dream of donning the crown. I have just recently learned of the rewrite so I will say what I had first been thinking when I started the game in- "that was it?" The beginning SHOULD capture the player's attention, much like a hook of every story and as it has been a while now since it released, I have forgotten what the beginning even talked about which is something that's not to be happy about. Of all the stories I've read- from books, visual novels, and games- this one's beginning is easily forgettable. I could even tell you the entire front and back of a novel I've read when I was freshman in high school now, but I cannot tell you or explain to you what happened in the beginning of the game. Looking at the CBT of Crownless, that to me, is so impactful and made me feel hype for the rest of WuWa's story (I am NOT a meta player but rather, one who enjoys the plot of any game, even if it means I will struggle late game because my characters are garbage). Characters: The CBT uses their characters and feel alive and have a reason to exist in the game like Danjin (who I believe we did not see in the final product). She looks like a pretty badass character in the scene and would love to get to know her. The cutscenes of the CBT helped me really grasp the type of person each character was and their morals/what they hold dear. Honestly speaking, I would be so hyped for Scar and Phrolova after seeing the old cutscene and would do anything to get my hands on their character if they ever get to be playable, but seeing the final, I was like 'meh' and went on my merry way... Yeah, the introduction to them wasn't that memorable at all and lost interest on getting them at all. AND JIYAN, my man, he saddened me most. When I saw him, I had my money on the table ready to get him but when I played the story quest... I did not get him. Again, I collect characters based of how they are written and don't care how I'll struggle on the late game as long as I get to enjoy. What even happened during our time with Jiyan?? The only thing I remember clearly is the end where we got Abby... But that's it. I believe that Jiyan wouldn't have so much hate as he does now with the CBT storyline because he had been with the MC through many of the ordeals here rather than nust appearing briefly (I don't know if he even showed up a lot now because his character, to me, was lost). So many character's "person" has died with the final product. End: PLEASE do not misinterpret my critique of WuWa's story as a hate. I love, love, love WuWa and Kuro so much that I'd die protecting them from haters. It has been my only other game that I currently play aside from one or two casual games of a different genre. The character designs are so delicious. I'm always pulling characters because of how much they got me blushing (Changli/Shorekeeper) with the stories. THEY'RE GORGEOUS.

MC had to won that trust which actually he does chixia and baizhi was angry at us cuz her friend got hurt saving a random stranger its the most human like behavior dude but later on when chixia was in pinch in Qichi village MC helps her and she also apologizes for her mistakes, this is called character growth. in baizhi's case when she completes her investigation of spirit of gorges after crownless battle she comes to find out it was somehow manipulated fight which she puts out infront of Jiyan at Knell square and that MC had no involvement in crownless appearing out of nowhere after it was defeated 13 years ago. They were worried because of the fact that they had to fight this feaful enemy again which threatened Jinzhou once. this is called backstory which gives proper weight to every thing happening in the story. there's actual flow in the story. The PLOT IS BEING DRIVEN BY THE MC and HIS MOTIVES. HE IS NOT A MERE PLOT DEVICE. ..... what u are trying to say he needs to get his harem right from the start where every one is bootlickers of MC for no reason. he is prophesized to be the jesus messiah of Jinzhou for no fking reason because a literal magical being told some one in that person's fkin dream.... ever saw any character in the current story cut destroyed to pieces until no existence is remaining. there were proper flashbacks in CBT 1 which showed MC as the warrior of some past battle highlighting that he needs to do it again but doesn't know how? here in the launch version we got a fking look into future for one second into dreamless echo for what? why is she there? did current plot explained that? no She was just there for because PLOT NEEDS TO BE THERE. MC has to fight that dreamless BECAUSE THE PLOT NEEDS HIM TO FIGHT DREAMLESS. no because there's a goal or motivation. WuWa is created/based wartime situation, so it automatically shifts the tone of the game to dark themes, The game did portray it perfectly in CBT 1 but people like u who want to be worshipped by pretty cute girls ruined it all. There is no hint struggle or actual will power of MC shown anywhere in the game. The characters speaks like robots programmed to stay in one tone forever.

this is 1000 x better than the released ver. because how everyone reacts to rover since rover in an outsider, made scar look 100x scarier and badass than the original, crownless very badass, very realistic, more violent, very awesome, not kiddie kiddie or friendly friendly like the original and feel like post apocalyptic but there are some part in the released version that are good especially the final arc.

most CN player that join CBT only played Genshin and hoyogames. They don't like stories and vibes that are different with Genshin. They know nothing about apocalypse vibe like Nier, Death Stranding. They prefer colorful and bright fairytales. So they complain everything about wuwa in CBT including the story, the color, the atmosphere, the design and the characters. Saying the tone makes them feel depressed and uncomfortable. They even made up rumors about all the characters in wuwa. Literally taking ONE dialog to represent the whole character and saying they're shit and a**hole. Every character got their own rumors like WTF even Encore has been called "wife of Aalto"?? who will say things like that to a child character. Although all the complain has been changed to fulfil what they want, they don't play wuwa after released because "boo it's a Genshin copy". Now is wuwa players' turn to feel sad when they find out the old story is not bad.

Tbh, the CN should've never had a choice to even change one bit of the story. It was already perfect the way it is until they changed it into a game that seemingly looked like it could be a Harem Game at the Start of the story. The Story could've been A LOT MORE LONGER, AND WE COULD'VE MET MORE CHARACTERS WITH JUST ONLY ONE PATCH! What the hell, there are actually cutscenes introducing all the characters? It felt especially weird when Taoqqi and the others just suddenly showed up during the last battle in the global release. At least here the most of the cast have some sort of intro

No the people that runs the CN gaming industry, if the girls getting beat up, characters literally getting demolished by an enemy is "too dark" to them then I think they don't understand that a game is a game, I mean the world in Wuwa is literally a post apocalyptic world, imagine it if you were in that world would you trust someone like Rover who is a complete stranger and you witness her literally absorbing crownless, something that can hurt or kill people into her body? I think this CBT version is much larger game size due to pre render motion that it show in this video ( the motion is so good, no way that is real time render motion). Imagine like two time size every patch if it gonna use this way, yeah it is good but it is gonna be bloated size game
Honestly, I think people make too much of a big deal out of the changes and overpraise the older one. Both the CBT and release have different bad and good points about the story. Jiyan's introduction and story are way better now for example. Encore/Aalto introductions too. Jihnsi feels like a better character, as does Yinlin. CBT story kinda went nowhere as it progressed. Danjin and Calcharo stories were meh, so much they cut it from release. However, CBT had a more serious and interesting tone. Crownless fight was more epic. I wish they kept the short midfight cutscenes from the Tech Test, the dramatic feel of the CBT(even if altered) and the polishing of the release. Also, there was no need to remove Scar's cutscene showing his psycho side. I guess the trade-off for better characters, via rewriting, made the story less daring, not only for commercial purposes, but because the prototype was also lacking. When something strives to be edgy, it can be very cool if done right as long as it's unique and avoids going too far so it's not lame or cringy, it's a thin line. It could be darker, but the new one isn't that bad either. One thing everyone can agree though is that Lingyang fucking sucks in any iteration.

In fact, I am always amazed at the captured expressions in those cutscenes and other elements from clothes and haur ruffling, the dirt spreading, etc. But it's the overall story aspect given to us. If we compare the CBT of Crownless to the new one, the new one cannot even dream of donning the crown. I have just recently learned of the rewrite so I will say what I had first been thinking when I started the game in- "that was it?" The beginning SHOULD capture the player's attention, much like a hook of every story and as it has been a while now since it released, I have forgotten what the beginning even talked about which is something that's not to be happy about. Of all the stories I've read- from books, visual novels, and games- this one's beginning is easily forgettable. I could even tell you the entire front and back of a novel I've read when I was freshman in high school now, but I cannot tell you or explain to you what happened in the beginning of the game. Looking at the CBT of Crownless, that to me, is so impactful and made me feel hype for the rest of WuWa's story (I am NOT a meta player but rather, one who enjoys the plot of any game, even if it means I will struggle late game because my characters are garbage).
Characters:
The CBT uses their characters and feel alive and have a reason to exist in the game like Danjin (who I believe we did not see in the final product). She looks like a pretty badass character in the scene and would love to get to know her. The cutscenes of the CBT helped me really grasp the type of person each character was and their morals/what they hold dear. Honestly speaking, I would be so hyped for Scar and Phrolova after seeing the old cutscene and would do anything to get my hands on their character if they ever get to be playable, but seeing the final, I was like 'meh' and went on my merry way... Yeah, the introduction to them wasn't that memorable at all and lost interest on getting them at all.
AND JIYAN, my man, he saddened me most. When I saw him, I had my money on the table ready to get him but when I played the story quest... I did not get him. Again, I collect characters based of how they are written and don't care how I'll struggle on the late game as long as I get to enjoy. What even happened during our time with Jiyan?? The only thing I remember clearly is the end where we got Abby... But that's it. I believe that Jiyan wouldn't have so much hate as he does now with the CBT storyline because he had been with the MC through many of the ordeals here rather than nust appearing briefly (I don't know if he even showed up a lot now because his character, to me, was lost).
So many character's "person" has died with the final product.

PLEASE do not misinterpret my critique of WuWa's story as a hate. I love, love, love WuWa and Kuro so much that I'd die protecting them from haters. It has been my only other game that I currently play aside from one or two casual games of a different genre. The character designs are so delicious. I'm always pulling characters because of how much they got me blushing (Changli/Shorekeeper) with the stories. THEY'RE GORGEOUS.

Sticking to one's vision is crucial and it earns respect. Dark Souls didn't become a genre defining franchise by listening to casuals for fk sake. Hell even Genshin lowkey shows the middle finger to most feedback because miHoyo has their own vision for what the game is supposed to be. That’s why they succeeded in the gacha gaming industry.
MC had to won that trust which actually he does chixia and baizhi was angry at us cuz her friend got hurt saving a random stranger its the most human like behavior dude but later on when chixia was in pinch in Qichi village MC helps her and she also apologizes for her mistakes, this is called character growth. in baizhi's case when she completes her investigation of spirit of gorges after crownless battle she comes to find out it was somehow manipulated fight which she puts out infront of Jiyan at Knell square and that MC had no involvement in crownless appearing out of nowhere after it was defeated 13 years ago. They were worried because of the fact that they had to fight this feaful enemy again which threatened Jinzhou once. this is called backstory which gives proper weight to every thing happening in the story. there's actual flow in the story. The PLOT IS BEING DRIVEN BY THE MC and HIS MOTIVES. HE IS NOT A MERE PLOT DEVICE.

Ever wondered why the overlord bosses exist? nope they are just there for the sake of farming. What a joke. the CBT version gave them a background, lampylumen mydriad was connected to the feeding on the souls of deadpeople. Morning aix was connected to Yinlin. and the list goes on and on.
dude u really need to play some games before make this of statement. WuWa is created/based wartime situation, so it automatically shifts the tone of the game to dark themes, The game did portray it perfectly in CBT 1 but people like u who want to be worshipped by pretty cute girls ruined it all. There is no hint struggle or actual will power of MC shown anywhere in the game. The characters speaks like robots programmed to stay in one tone forever.

this is 1000 x better than the released ver. because how everyone reacts to rover since rover in an outsider, made scar look 100x scarier and badass than the original, crownless very badass, very realistic, more violent, very awesome, not kiddie kiddie or friendly friendly like the original and feel like post apocalyptic but there are some part in the released version that are good especially the final arc.

most CN player that join CBT only played Genshin and hoyogames. They don't like stories and vibes that are different with Genshin. They know nothing about apocalypse vibe like Nier, Death Stranding. They prefer colorful and bright fairytales.
So they complain everything about wuwa in CBT including the story, the color, the atmosphere, the design and the characters. Saying the tone makes them feel depressed and uncomfortable.
They even made up rumors about all the characters in wuwa. Literally taking ONE dialog to represent the whole character and saying they're shit and a**hole.
Every character got their own rumors like WTF even Encore has been called "wife of Aalto"?? who will say things like that to a child character.
Although all the complain has been changed to fulfil what they want, they don't play wuwa after released because "boo it's a Genshin copy".
Now is wuwa players' turn to feel sad when they find out the old story is not bad.

Tbh, the CN should've never had a choice to even change one bit of the story. It was already perfect the way it is until they changed it into a game that seemingly looked like it could be a Harem Game at the Start of the story.

And the Story letting us know the fact that anyone could die at anytime and the Distrust of Chixia was the best thing I could've asked for. It could make Rover seem like more of a Game Changer if everyone almost dies fighting an Elite Boss while we're fighting them without a Struggle. It would amplify the reason why different factions are desperate to have us as their companion, or a pawn

Nonsensical Feadbacks?
Most of CN's feedbacks are valid. The characters still treat the MC like garbage even after providing themselves they can be trusted, it creates a situation where the player doesn't care about the characters because of that.
So there are four characters that will be soon be added to be playable like Chun, Kakarot, Awu and Jinxi

What the hell, there are actually cutscenes introducing all the characters? It felt especially weird when Taoqqi and the others just suddenly showed up during the last battle in the global release. At least here the most of the cast have some sort of intro

The characters feel more alive here specially Chixia her being more hostile towards us is more realistic, ngl I kinda like that version of Chixia instead of her cheerful ver😏 but all jokes aside I hate the CN players. No the people that runs the CN gaming industry, if the girls getting beat up, characters literally getting demolished by an enemy is "too dark" to them then I think they don't understand that a game is a game, I mean the world in Wuwa is literally a post apocalyptic world, imagine it if you were in that world would you trust someone like Rover who is a complete stranger and you witness her literally absorbing crownless, something that can hurt or kill people into her body? Hell nah. But oh well I still enjoy the game but still Kuro must realize that CN players aren't the only players that play their games.
Some points of the current story are better, but other points of the old story look fresh.

DAmn Chixia is actually likable in the CBT...
I think this CBT version is much larger game size due to pre render motion that it show in this video ( the motion is so good, no way that is real time render motion). Imagine like two time size every patch if it gonna use this way, yeah it is good but it is gonna be bloated size game

Honestly, I think people make too much of a big deal out of the changes and overpraise the older one. Both the CBT and release have different bad and good points about the story.
Jiyan's introduction and story are way better now for example. Encore/Aalto introductions too. Jihnsi feels like a better character, as does Yinlin. CBT story kinda went nowhere as it progressed. Danjin and Calcharo stories were meh, so much they cut it from release.
However, CBT had a more serious and interesting tone. Crownless fight was more epic. I wish they kept the short midfight cutscenes from the Tech Test, the dramatic feel of the CBT(even if altered) and the polishing of the release. Also, there was no need to remove Scar's cutscene showing his psycho side.
I guess the trade-off for better characters, via rewriting, made the story less daring, not only for commercial purposes, but because the prototype was also lacking. When something strives to be edgy, it can be very cool if done right as long as it's unique and avoids going too far so it's not lame or cringy, it's a thin line. It could be darker, but the new one isn't that bad either.
One thing everyone can agree though is that Lingyang fucking sucks in any iteration.
dude Aalto literally appeared outta nowhere in the main story quest unlike the Cbt scene where he actually had a rendezvous planned
