You teach me about a huge variety of plants that I did not even know I could grow in my zone. So thank you Jim Putnam.

Mine struggled its first year in full sun, zone 7a, but this second year it’s a beast!

Thank you for covering this one. It's one of my favorites, especially in standard form.

I LOVE that you trained it into a tree! I've been looking for something for a back corner of my property and this is perfect! Does this need two to produce the berries or is it self-pollinating/self-fertile (excuse my newbie question if you answered it in the video) like the Tea Viburnum??

We know your neighbor by their Maple tree 😂
Sure wish I could get my family on board with a landscape plan & to understand how it would make our property easier to maintain & improve it's value. I've got a vision & a spot for one of these. Always a solid plant for my area north of Atlanta.

I’d like a double file Mariesi vibernum and want to know if ok to uplimb that as well . I’m in zone 5 Chicago . I’d like the double file as a neighbor screen in front of a fence so it’s even higher privacy . Plenty of sun . You are saying Shasta goes big like 10 plus but many say they are 6 ft ?? . Which is the larger double file . Want to put it in a corner fence area . Want to uplimb 5 ft or more so I can underplant flowers . Is that ok . Thanks

We planted one of these a couple of years ago. Full sun, Atlanta GA zone 8? The leaves tend to be droopy so maybe we are not watering enough, but we have never had any blooms on at all. Ideas?

I live in rural Arkansas. Basically out in the country with large oak trees. How resistant to insect damage are they, specifically grasshopper’s? I would love to plant one.

Anyone watching this know if it is ever too young to start limbing up? My bushes have been in the ground for about 2 seasons now and are maybe 4-5 feet tall. I can't seem to find a video letting me know if I should wait for them to be a certain size before I start.

Confused - Shasta viburnum/double file viburnum - same plant? You lost me.

Same plant. 'Shasta' is the variety. Doublefile Viburnum is the common name. Viburnum plicatum f. tomentosum is the botanical name.
