Such an elegant clean car design. I remember I was counting them on the other side of the highway in the late 70s, mostly they were orange or green I believe. Probably I was in the back of a Kadett C ;) Glad this one is preserved so well.

Still missing my B-Ascona 2.0/SR. Great car, superb acceleration and a decent fuel consumption (1:12 when driving normal).

My father had the 2.0S 2 door Opel Ascona Berlina here in the UK in 1979 - it was special order RHD from the GM/Vauxhall dealer - I was very upset when he replaced it after a few years with the bland mainstream 4 door 1.6 Cavalier(Vectra) that followed - the Ascona was a much nicer car and more like BMW 3 series than a GM/Opel/Vauxhall . Nice video and nice to see another 2 door in action

Meine Eltern hatten damals auch einen gelben Ascona B als 2 Türer, aber mit weniger Leistung.
Leider hat der Rost ihn geholt.

So sah mein 2. Ascona aus. Selbe schöne Farbe nur mit 2.0l N und 90 PS. Einziger Minuspunkt war die Startautomatik mit der Bimetallfeder...

1984 hat mein Bruder einen Ascona B 1.6 S in der gleichen Farbe für 500 DM als sein erstes Auto gekauft, der Wagen war Bj. 1975 und völlig Durchgerostet, ich habe ihn geschweißt, mein anderer Bruder hat ihn neu lackiert und mein Bruder hat ihn 3 Jahre lang gefahren und ihn dann für 2500 DM bei einem Opel Händler in Zahlung gegeben, billiger hat er nie wieder ein Auto gefahren.
