    I've enjoyed flying with Naviter's Oudie N for a few months now, but is it worth the money? Find out for yourself ; )

    firstly I thank Joanna for another review again.. Very good clear english and very well introduced the unit it self. I do not like using a phone as my vario, i prefer to have a separate unit to fly. In case you have an accident or you drop the unit or land badly , your phone is always protected, you can use it for emergency., lately a friend had an accident a month ago just below the take off, he crashed and broke the vario. it stoped working of course. it took him a few hours to get out from the land scape. But he had his phone all good to call some one that he is ok and needs some one to help him.. we spend lots of money in this sport , so a bit more for safety is in need . Joanna what you can show one day is a video how to use some of the features , ok you have the see you Navigator video but maybe some more things about it. for example what you can use on task and airspaces. if you get a side view for cylinders, if you can trigger pages to one to another and more of these features. a bit more detailed. Thanks again

      Thanks for the feedback David and for the ideas. I'm going to take your suggestion on doing other videos about how to use some features 😀.

    Great video. I am considering buying one. Do you use the background that has the thermal maps? Is it useful for XC flights or comps?

      Hey Paulo. I don't use that layer but it could be useful if you fly in an area you're not familiar with.

    Great video Joanna 🤗
    I have just purchased one and registered. Free subscription for one year.
    My question is what will happen when subscription finished ? Can I still use this unit without renewing ?

    • @joannadigrigoli
      @joannadigrigoli  Год назад +1

      Thanks! I'm glad you liked it. Once the subscription is finished, you can still use your instrument. The thing that changes is the cloud services that will be more basic once the subscription expires.

      @@joannadigrigoli Thank you Joanna.
      Just to confirm that I still can use the logbook once subscription finished and if I decided not to extend ? Cheers.

    Hi Joanna.
    I've got a new Oudie N device and notice it does not beep at all when loosing altitude (for example, when you lose the thermal descending with -2-3m/s) you can't hear anything. Is that alright for this device?

    • @joannadigrigoli
      @joannadigrigoli  Год назад

      Hi! Go to Menu > Settings > Vario, and play with the Sink alarm threshold. Maybe you have it set too high. I hope this fixes it!

      La verdad es que no he probado el Air3, así que no podría compararlos. Espero poder probarlo algún día

    Hi Joanna, thanks for the great review. I have a question about airspaces. Does it have them updated? Now Imagine you have an airspace that begins at 2000m and you fly at 1500m, so you haven't entered that airspace yet. But now you gain altitude and you hit 2000m, what happens then? How does it warn you?
    And last question: how do you deal with the screens when you have thick warm gloves?
    Thank you again!

    • @joannadigrigoli
      @joannadigrigoli  2 месяца назад +1

      Hi! Airspaces get updated when you connect your device to Wifi, but it's always good to check local NOTAMs, temporary restrictions, and things like that because things can change everyday. All the airspaces available should be in the instrument, so, you shouldn't need to enter airspaces manually, unless they differ from the database Naviter gets its airspaces from. If the airspace is in the database, it should warn you. I've noticed there's no airspace information from some countries, and that must be because the country's aviation authorities don't make it publicly available. In that case, you'd need to upload an openair file to your cloud. I hope this helps!

      @@joannadigrigoli Thank you so much Joanna. Most importantly I needed to know if it deals with airspaces in 3D or only in 2D on the map. Naviter gave me a response (it does 3D). See you somewhere in the air!

    if you fly multiple aircraft (sailplanes in my case) can you easily program the flight characteristics of the different aircraft? Thanx.

    • @joannadigrigoli
      @joannadigrigoli  10 месяцев назад

      Yes you can! The instrument has the polar for each glider, so whenever you choose one, the info it displays adapts to that glider.

    Joanna
    Just received my oudie n igc.
    Seem to be stuck connecting my new oudie n to my home wifi network. I sweep down and touched on the wifi symbol (fan) but my oudie does not ask for the wifi password.
    Any suggestions?

      Hi. That's very weird. Have you tried to connect it to another network? Maybe your phone's hotspot, or just a different network? Let me know if it works.

    Hello Joanna, what books on thermal flight would you recommend? I am a beginner and has signed up for the next level training. However, I would like to do some reading on XC flights, namely site analysis, weather analysis, thermaling etc.

    • @joannadigrigoli
      @joannadigrigoli  Год назад +1

      Hi! I'd recommend the Beginner's Guide, as we all Mastering Paragliding and Understanding the Sky. Read them in that order as you progress and they will be very helpful. There's a link in all of my videos that take you straight to a shop where you can buy them (and it helps support the channel too! 😇). Take care!

    Novice question; Can it be linked to use my phone simcard to enable live tracking?

    • @joannadigrigoli
      @joannadigrigoli  Год назад

      You can use your phone as a hotspot and connect it via wifi for live tracking or you can just insert your sim card in the instrument to use your data.

    Hello,
    I would like to buy this for the thermal assistant, to see where stronger lifts are. What alternatives are there?
    Thank you

    • @joannadigrigoli
      @joannadigrigoli  Год назад +2

      Hi Andrei. The Oudie N has a thermal assistant that works really well and the Navigator app for your phone has the same feature :) I haven't flown instruments from other brands in a while, so unfortunately, I don't know how the thermal assistant works on other instruments, unfortunately.
