The villagers, in a remarkable feat of engineering and resourcefulness, have constructed the majority of the pathway using bamboo bridges and ladders on the cliff. These sturdy yet slightly swaying structures are what make this trek both exhilarating and a test of courage.
The Mawryngkneng Trek, nestled in the Wahkhen village of East Khasi Hills, is a unique and relatively new addition to Meghalaya's adventure scene. This trek, aptly nicknamed the Bamboo Trek, takes you on a thrilling journey through a network of skillfully constructed bamboo bridges and wooden ladders, all clinging to the steep slopes overlooking the beautiful Wahrew River.
