- Recorded in StepMania 5 using Risk's DDR 2014 theme and official Zenius-I-Vanisher simfiles. Every single song featured in DDR 2014 as of 02/17/2016 (the day "Kyun kyun bakkyun LOVE" was added) is in this video. However, they are sorted alphabetically per folder, whereas in the official arcade game, songs with Japanese characters are listed after the songs with Roman characters, and Licensed music is listed before the Konami Originals (per folder). All japanese songs are romanized. I decided to divide the DDR 2014 folder into DDR 2014, DDR 2015 and DDR 2016 folders. All songs released after December 2014 are in the DDR 2015 folder, and all songs released after December 2015 are in the DDR 2016 folder. There's some hiccups throughout the video, but I made sure to showcase 4 seconds of every single song. Please note that Groove Radar data does not directly reflect that of the arcade games, due to the video being recorded from StepMania.

Wow, I love that there is a lot of original music from the early days. It has changed a lot.
All songs in my DDR 2016 folder have since been transplanted to the DDR A folder. The songs I have in the DDR 2015 folder are still combined with the rest of the 2014 songs.

Max Gamer This is the song list for the arcade game DDR 2014. I whipped this up on Stepmania with a DDR 2014 theme by downloading the packs for all the games and removing the songs not present in that game.

Does this theme work with any version of StepMania 5?
Was developed for Stepmania5 beta4. It should work with later versions of 5.0 though, but probably not on 5.1 and up
Nicholas NRG just tested it with my SM 5.0.12 and it didn’t work. Sad but at least there’s other themes to go with
Sooo the original Dynamite Rave was replaced by the new version? Weak! DDR Extreme Arcade was the best mix...
Some issues with the original vocalists apparently caused Dynamite Rave to be replaced with its Hottest Party 3 remake, and for all its remixes and End of the Century to be removed from american DDR X onward. Sad...

Except Extreme even back then had a lot of content from previous mixes removed from it too. I remember wondering why Make Your Move was not revived with all the other Good Cool songs on there. Couldn't have been vocalist issues, JP Miles had several other songs in the game at that time, and even these days Don't Stop is STILL in the 4th mix folder of DDR on current releases.
Great compilation, but a DDR without "Boom Boom Dollar KOG G3 Mix", "Rhythm and Police" and "So Deep", can't be considered a real DDR game.
Those are Licensed songs, which were added to promote Toshiba-EMI's line of Dancemania compilation albums. They can't be in the games forever as the rights to use them expire eventually. They've been missing since 2006, removed from DDR SuperNOVA. Toshiba-EMI is also no longer around, so licensing rights are now scattered across different labels. The last effort to have these in the game was in DDR X3 vs 2ndMIX, which revived all Dancemania licenses featured in 2ndMIX besides STRICTLY BUSINESS and had a different cut version of HERO. Many iconic Konami Original songs are still around though, which I feel define DDR just as much if not more than the licenses, since they are provided by DDR's own music team. Many early DDR releases in America and Europe lacked these licenses as well. Nevertheless, Dancemania songs will always be among the most iconic songs to be featured in the franchise, and was a big factor in its popularity.
Fun Fact: The original cut of Butterfly was never featured in any american release of DDR! (Besides one Xbox game)

That’s honestly a very narrow minded opinion. Imagine to hold that much nostalgia that if 3 freaking old songs are not there it ruins what the game is to you. You must be one of those boomers that won’t touch anything after SuperNOVA 2.

it's mostly the jumps. A lot of people have trouble with jumps, especially in Japan. That's why they rerated SUMIDAGAWA KARENKA from 15 in X3 to 16. It is a pretty slow song, but if you were to speed it up it would start to feel a lot more like a 13.
