I'm amazed that a mind can memorize and play all of that. I am amazed that a group of minds can memorize and play all of that. I am amazed that a group of minds can memorize and play all of that perfectly. Incredible.
You're thinking the wrong person. That's the blonde one. She aged out with the Blue Devils in 2011. This person on THIS line is marching in the Blue Devils in 2012, though. And a bunch of other places in WGI.
Incrível, sensacional, espetacular, para quem gosta de instrumento e esplendoroso, isso requer muito tempo de trino fiquei admirado. Parabéns a todo o grupo.
the 4 in the center all got them for their Age out. It's Japanese for "Blue" The guy next to them, the center snare for 2012, just happened to have a half-sleeve started.
This is a great video with great and clean snares, but I wonder are the basses new players for this year? It seems like they're playing a lot of unisons compared to other lines I've seen. I'm just curious.
no not my high school, me and a friend started a local drumline, and we do some street performences, not much more, trying to get enough to become part of the dci.
I'm not 100% sure, but I'm fairly certain that Joel (the super blonde guy that's not the center) makes the screaming noise, and he does it every rep. Same with the guy who shakes is head, he does a bass drum run sound. I couldn't help but laugh if I was in the snareline hearing the crowds reaction and stuff. I'd try not to but I'd smile :P this is why I love the Bluecoats. They're just a fun drum corps.
well damn. I wish my school had this kind of focus. My school tries to be too fancy and groovy with dance moves. They need to just stand and focus.lol.
Back in my day, 1982 and 83, the goal was to keep your sticks low/close to the snare head. Nowadays they see how high they can get and stike hit the head. Interesting evolution of the art of drumming. Is that an African influence on DCI?
That girl is a fucking tank at snare. Shes already been to so many groups and shes basically like what...2 years out of high school (in guessing) and shes already in the Blue Devs? She's probably become a big time tech after her DCI/WGI career is over
Hello Everyone. I am the trumpet section leader for my high school marching band. I have just been curios to know when do drummers know when to play with their left or right hand. I know you drummers use drum rudiments and I have seen snare, tenor, and bass drum music. Sometimes I notice that the music says RLRLRLRLRLRL or RLRRLRLL. I know a few rudiments. But how do you guys know what are the rudiments there are if no right or left hand below the notes?
At 1:43, the random scream. Does the snare second from the right end shake his head and make that weird noise at the guy who screamed? And the snare at the end laughs...
not quite. only reason nicole marched coats was because eric asked if she could fill in a spot. reason she marched BD this year was because she wanted to try something new
I'm amazed that a mind can memorize and play all of that. I am amazed that a group of minds can memorize and play all of that. I am amazed that a group of minds can memorize and play all of that perfectly. Incredible.
Memorizing it isn’t that amazing when you consider how much time they spend playing it. It’s all muscle memory
That scream at 1:43. I freaking love this line. These guys were hilarious and amazing all at the same time. THIS is why I want to be a Bluecoat.
Did you do it?
I hear twitch and moeller in their book
Yes she is the center snare this year, and was also the center for pulse at wgi this year.
and then she marched center snare for blue devils ;-)
Terry P Dennison I think she did.
lmfao just find you around the internet man.
that must mean ive watched this 120,000 times.
You're thinking the wrong person. That's the blonde one. She aged out with the Blue Devils in 2011. This person on THIS line is marching in the Blue Devils in 2012, though. And a bunch of other places in WGI.
i saw these guys in dallas that same year. that girl on the end was a BOSS! one of my favorite lines at that show!
i wish bluecoats still played like they did back in 08....fast and hard licks...those were the days none the less theyre sill one of my favorite lines
is it me or those snares cranked? still clean though!
That's the reason.........they have fun while they play and don't care what place they come in..
3:33 Bass 5!!! love it!
Why is Mickey from Doctor Who playing snare
Great show. I hope we adopt this in Norway soon too. :)
VERY TALENTED LINE!!!
when my rock band is famous I want to incorporate this drumline into a song live. Man I miss my drum corp days.
Is it famous yet?
@@rfisty well played, sir... lol
@@stevew311 You'll make it some day
Band name?
@jacobisamazing123 its the bluecoats tattoo that a lot of the guys get ... i imagine that's a big reason why they rock the 1 sleeve, to show it off
phenomenal
a line that knows restraint is a good line
Incrível, sensacional, espetacular, para quem gosta de instrumento e esplendoroso, isso requer muito tempo de trino fiquei admirado. Parabéns a todo o grupo.
English please
Drew and his chilli bowl cut.
the 4 in the center all got them for their Age out. It's Japanese for "Blue"
The guy next to them, the center snare for 2012, just happened to have a half-sleeve started.
The guy who screamed was on the other end of the line, 3rd from the end.
She was this past summer. This is from 2011.
CLEAN CUTS
This is a great video with great and clean snares, but I wonder are the basses new players for this year? It seems like they're playing a lot of unisons compared to other lines I've seen. I'm just curious.
They guys have amazing ping shots
It's actually pretty common to have an even number. Normally in DCI it's 8 or 9, but sometimes it can be more or less.
I agree. The snare's are ten time cleaner up front
no not my high school, me and a friend started a local drumline, and we do some street performences, not much more, trying to get enough to become part of the dci.
Is the snare nearest to the cam from chino hills?
OMG is that Nicole from BD 13 snare captain!?
it does kinda look at now that you mention it
It is! :D
Nicole is so lucky!! She gets to march with the two best drumlines in DCI!! I can only dream! And now she's center snare!
That’s not luck it’s skill
Any idea what the snares are using to cover their backbars?
this side view doesn't really do them justice, they are so much cleaner than it sounds in this video
these guys are sick
Is this at your high school? My high school marches the same, but DCI, like I said, is normally 8 or 9.
I love how drew duts.
nah he is right. that end snare is on the 2012 BD snareline...
Aah, right. I took it as him saying Vasilakis was on Bluecoats as 2011.
They've done the left sleeve up since 08, but they all may have gotten on the left arm for that reason
Holy crap that snare line
I'm not 100% sure, but I'm fairly certain that Joel (the super blonde guy that's not the center) makes the screaming noise, and he does it every rep. Same with the guy who shakes is head, he does a bass drum run sound. I couldn't help but laugh if I was in the snareline hearing the crowds reaction and stuff. SO CLEAN!!! Also, does anyone know where Nicole went for the 2012 season??
BD
no he's shaking his head making the purring noise and she laughs
The video description reads "no description available," when it should actually read "no description needed."
Anybody have any idea why three of the snares have the same tattoo on their left arms?
Back in my day, 1982 and 83, the goal was to keep your sticks low/close to the snare head. Nowadays they see how high they can get and stike hit the head. Interesting evolution of the art of drumming. Is that an African influence on DCI?
the second snare in from this angle looks extremely tense compared to everyone else...
holy shit, theres an even number of snares 10! its supposed to be an odd number so that there can be a center, not 2 center.
สุดยอด
IMO, Bluecoats will never be the same without Drew Guy )-:
I thought, "I should go watch some porn." Then i said,
"Wait! I already am."
Awsome
yes its in another video too.
i'm pretty sure i'm standing right next to you as this video is being recorded. lol! i have my own version of this video in my videos.
Which one is the one that yells at 1:42? I can't figure it out and it's driving me crazy!
awsome
Horns running opner in the background
Homie 3 from the right on the snare line reminds me of Brick from Borderlands
That girl is a fucking tank at snare. Shes already been to so many groups and shes basically like what...2 years out of high school (in guessing) and shes already in the Blue Devs? She's probably become a big time tech after her DCI/WGI career is over
Cleeaaaaan.

Didn't that girl at the very end play for the Blue Devils, too? Or am I confused?
You do realize that she marched in 2010 Bluecoats then 2011 BD.
thats nuts
Aw cmon bloo I almost heard popcorn on the long triplet roll :(
At 1:43, the random scream. Does the snare second from the right end shake his head and make that weird noise at the guy who screamed? And the snare at the end laughs...
sweet
how do u have a snare sectional with 10 snares???!!!?!?
Yeah she went to BD in 2012. She's from California, I think.
Whoa, where is the other blonde drummer girl at? I think she didnt do it that year.
She was better off in a bluecoats uniform
meanwhile you were built for crown
huh
Do you recognize sacowsci? He is the one with the blue denim and blond buzz. I’m in 7th grade and he’s my purcussion teacher!
wow
ahahahahahaha Im laughing at how sick they sound.....fawking amazing!
3rd snare from the right.. cadets 2010?
@breakdance1441 She went to BD for 2011. (:
@Scurano2 yup
holy shit! thats alot of people in the very begining!
1:43... The reason why I watch this video. lol
i just noticed that 5 snares all have tattoos on their left arm.
wow, how many years does Drew Guy have left before he ages out?
OH LAWD
yea, shes from California, so that would make a lot of sense
At 0:06 I thought the guy on closest to the camera in the front line threw his stick to the snare next to him.
I only watch this video for the scream.
@juliooooooo95 Drew doesnt age out because his name is Drew Guy
well i stand corrected.
That's what I thought too.
way cool
1:43 gets me all the time. l..o..l
1:36 EPIC FACEPALM!!!!
IT'S THE SNARE GIRL FROM CHINO HILLS HIGH SCHOOL!!!1
Came back for the scream @1:43 😎
not quite. only reason nicole marched coats was because eric asked if she could fill in a spot. reason she marched BD this year was because she wanted to try something new
Yup thats her.
I've always wondered this. Why is their shirt sleeveless on one side, but not the other?
o0DraastiK for swag. Pretty sure they just roll the sleeve up. The quads roll both sides up
the drumline at my highschool has all girl snare players :D
