George Strait is the absolute KING of country and biggest country star alive. The chair was his first real hit. He had several before that but that one was huge. He has OVER 60 number one hits. He's also known by the name King George . He is one of the most humble and caring people you'll ever meet. He hasn't changed one bit because of his fame. He definitely earned the name King George .
I completely agree, Shirley D! His chord structure in this song, as simple as it seems, is absolutely incredible and fun to play, as a musician. Love this song and love playing it!
I will agree that George Strait is a great singer has has alot of great song but the king of country is George Jones he may have not had the hits that George Strait has had but George Jones is still the King of Country and if you ask George Strait we will even tell you that Jones is the man
One GREAT thing about George Straight is that he had done a movie called Pure Country. In that movie he fell in love but he refused as an actor to kiss the love interest as he felt it was disrespectful to his real life wife. Complete gentleman! I have seen him in concert and he sang for 3 hours straight without speaking. He had that man songs and he stuck to real music. Wonderful reaction!
I can never hear that song without hearing the voice of my teenage brother singing all my ex's change their sexes when I was in elementary school. Funniest part of that story, to me, is that my brother is mid40s now, has lived in Texas all his life so all his exes are there, and he now has a vacation property in Tennessee... so he's the embodiment of this song 😂😂
King George does it again!!! Brings back fond memories especially since he sang at our Rodeo several times. Amarillo by morning since that’s where I still live!!!Thanks RM!
I first heard this song in 2005 when I bought his 50 # 1s CD. Now he has 60 # 1s!! Mr. Strait is a great singer, vocalist, and lyricist, as well as a decent gentleman and family man. And that's rare in the entertainment industry. God gave him a quiet, humble charm and good looks, too. You should do more reactions of George Strait music. It's family friendly and pleasing to the ear...and eyes for us ladies. Lol.
George was the epitome of class. From his time in Ace in the Hole Band to his last album Honkytonk Time Machine, the dude slays with the cleanest, family friendly, radio friendly songs that talk about L. O. V. E. Absolutely one of my favorite country artists. And I agree, the new stuff nowadays doesn't capture the purity of courtship. Easton Corbin really has a lot of that "classic" country flavor that our parents loved listening to and it helps that he sounds JUST LIKE GEORGE STRAIT. Josh Turner, a Christian country singer, is another good, clean country boy that respects and loves women and doesn't sing about hook ups and other "new love" concepts. No trunk throwing, as you put it 😉 Great react Ty...
His band is still The Ace in The Hole band... the only band he has ever had.... even before he got famous in 1980. Like the garage band that made it big.
George Strait is so gorgeous 😍 I love this song 💚 I miss the 80s 😢 oh Ty you silly young man 😂 love your reactions 👍 and your comments ,George was slick wasn't he?
I first heard this song at a friend’s house when we were singing karaoke. I was just getting into Country music and he sang some George Strait songs which made me wanna dig deeper into George’s music and now I love it!
Been wondering how long it would be till you played this. This song is so smooth, and I loved it as a kid because it was sorta funny in its own way, but when I got older I realized King George was a straight up player! George Strait is one of rare few, if not the only, person to have #1 hits or in the top 10 pretty much every year since his career took off. That is nearly 40 years of hits! All his songs are memory joggers, particularly "Amarillio By Morning", "Foolhearted Memory", "Ocean Front Property", "Can Still Make Cheyanne", "Famous Last Words Of A Fool", "The Fireman", and so many more. I hear those songs and I'm back in the 80's on a road trip with my folks, either going to my relatives or a family reunion, or going somewhere out of state. One point of contention I have though, Gary Allan sang "A Showman's Life" and later George Strait sang the same song. A lot of people think King George's version is better, and I have to disagree. Gary does it with a little more soul and a little more ache to it, seeming more like he's singing it after a long, tiresome day full of heartache. King George sings it with a bit less. That's just my opinion, and maybe my bias, but still King George is one of THE best in country music, even other country stars refer to him as King George or refer to him with the highest of respect. And seeing the way he lives his life, being with the same wife for over 40 years, losing a daughter n the 80's, and staying true himself, he deserves all the respect in the world.
I think I actually asked a while back to react to this. This is the song I sang to my daddy after he lost the ability to speak (about 3 days before he passed). This is one of the songs he & I sang together. I started singing, holding his hand and he started smiling and crying all at the same time. It wasn’t long before the whole family came in and we had our own time with him. Talking about our special times with him. That was such a beautiful, special evening.
George Strait was big when my husband and I got married and in the church I had the song 'I cross my heart' play. You must do it. When our daughter was pregnant with her first child I drove her to the hospital at 4am and stayed with her. I was at the hospital until 11pm the next day after she had her daughter. I came home exhausted because I was in the delivery room with her the whole time. I got home and turned on the music channel and this song came on and I never heard it before. It was George Strait and it is "I saw God today". you NEED to listen to it. I couldn't believe what I was hearing because I just lived it!
its hard to believe by the way he carries himself.....but he had a daughter that passed away in a car crash. as a parent now, i commend him for still moving forward and making great songs. i would never be able to move on if i lost a child
One of the great songs co-written by Hank Cochran and Dean Dillon. I'm a big fan of Dean Dillon. I think my favorite part of this video was your facial expressions. Good stuff. Enjoying your channel.
Love me some george! Believe me ,i have been plsying and singing this song since the mid eighties..it worked just like you say.lol try josh turner ,brad paisley, even blake shelton now and then can throw an old country style song once in a while.you are aeesome.
I read somewhere here about this being the song that took Straight to the limelight (or actually it being his first real hit....🤔) and I don't want you (or anyone else) to be misled...... It was 1981 and I was 19 (that makes me 210 lol); a little truck stop where I waitressed at in Casper Wyoming played Straight on the jukebox ----- "Unwound" was everywhere! 💞 Then there was "Down and Out"; then another great-Straight "If You're Thinking You Want a Stranger, there's One Coming Home"....... And the neverending list goes on. But this song was not the one that made him....this one was A LOT of hits later. Sorry...like I said, I don't want anyone to be misled. G.S. is gold --- fell in love with his music many years ago at that truck stop.💖
You're so right. People do get so butthurt over nothing. George straight is awesome. He just stands there and sings- no running around on stage or dancing or anything. And he looks dang good doing just that.
Love this song. I danced a lot to it in my younger days. If your looking for a recent song with a great message try Take a drunk girl home by Chris Janson.
1991? Wow, can't believe it was that recent. I did not see the video but the song makes us (women) melt. Love his music and his gentle nature. He is one of the artists that helped me believe that good men were out there.
It went down from around 1985. It was even better in the 50s-70s. As a matter of fact it was nice, with good melodies and a clear message in the first decades of the 20th century.
I paid $2000’to see him in Vegas... Worth every penny and then some🙌🙌.. I would pay more.. and I’m sure I will in the near future!! That man could hum “twinkle twinkle little star” once and it would be worth $2000!!! I love King George!
I tell ya another that puts out good music Country Artist Jeff Bates His 1st was Called Long Slow Kisses Another Is I wanna Make You Cry Another is The Love Song
can you do From Whence Came the Cowboy by The Sons of the San Joaquin? I am from there in California...used to hear Jack Hannah and the Sons sing a jingle advertising a feed store in the area on the way to high school in the morning! Such great voices. It’d mean the world if you would give them any attention.
My favorite George Strait song. He is just a romantic guy and love the white hat. I was in college when this came out and dreamed of someone being this sweet to me.

@@MrBobpii Agree, that Possum is a Country Legend but George Strait in the King 👑.
One of the smoothest pick-ups you will ever hear.

Great reaction, I love George Strait. One of his funny ones is 'All My Exes Live In Texas'. But he has a boatload of great songs.
I can never hear that song without hearing the voice of my teenage brother singing all my ex's change their sexes when I was in elementary school.

No flash, smoke or wild circus, just smooth pure country gold. Awesome entertainer.
You are spot on about the music.
George Strait, King of Country!!
As George Strait, I can confirm this is smooth

Love George Strait. It’s a love without end Amen!
He is truly the King of Country! This song is soo awesome! They don't make 'em like him anymore!
This has always been my favorite song and he's my favorite singer always has been. Lofe the little smirk at the end.

GREAT pick up line. My favorite of his songs.
Ever the gentleman, even when trolling for chicks, George had a way of being classy. 😜😉
I can see now why my mom was so infatuated with him when I was a child. He's quite charming and handsome.
Back then, you still wanted to make the play, but you held a level of respect that is missing today.
You are hilarious. That is one of those good ole bar song's when they use to have good ole beer joints
I remember I always listened to it on the radio and thought what a wonderful love story...aaaaannnd then I saw the video LOL Best pick up line ever!
Me too. I seriously thought it was just a love story. Never saw the video before. Now....I still love the song but feel a little betrayed.

Very sweet song, I was 25 yrs old in 1991, never heard this before, really enjoyed it.
Loved your reaction to my favorite George Strait song. Country music still has amazing love songs.
That George Strait was one cool dude. Such a charmer. Love this song.
Cool song, great pick up line, talented singer and great reaction
I saw this video earlier than that. Back in the '80s. He's all mine 😆...
MRM I gotta tell you. I fell in love with George before this song, but he is still an ember in my heart. 35 years (Heavy sigh) love love love
Older music was so good! I love music you can sing along with, and story telling!
Simple, but very effective. He glides and makes it look effortless. It went strait to her heart. [Pun intended.]
George Straight "Maina del Rey"
One of my favs. Lots of two stepping to this. Oozing charm.
He need's to do selena Q song's
This is my song! Love King George, and this one is my absolute favorite from him.
I seen him in concert years ago and he sounds the same in person. He stood on stage with his guitar and microphone. Glam was not needed!!
Loved this, Brother. Yea, that was a smooth way to break the ice. 🤣🤣

An amazing voice!
Thank you so much for the song and your reaction. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Can’t go wrong with King George. Always good music. Gotta a listen to Baby Blue by him.

George Strait💚 Saw him in Tulsa in the 80s. I got past a giant security gaurd to get as close to him as possible. Love him still.
How did this not go viral .. way cute I don't blame her I feel the same about George Strait
Kid ain’t lying, seeing King George was one of my best concerts ever!
Only George Strait can have a #1 hit from a song that’s one side of a conversation of a guy picking up a woman at a bar.
I read somewhere here about this being the song that took Straight to the limelight (or actually it being his first real hit....🤔) and I don't want you (or anyone else) to be misled......

Good ol'tune.
