I saw him in concert this past Sunday night here in Evansville Indiana. He was great as usual. It was a sold out concert , done in the round. There was about 10,000 people there. Loved it and yes he sang The Chair. 💕💕

I was expecting maybe Earth, Wind and Fire, Chaka Khan or The Isley Brothers but never country. That was well over 30 years ago , and I remember that stellar concert as if it were yesterday. I’m so glad I went and I still rave to my friends, who are starting to appreciate country music, about this great American genre. I still love Kenny Rogers, r.I.p., but I have to admit George reigns supreme!

The very year he was going to hang up his guitar, he got a solo contract with MCA and grew to become the King of Country music. Many people think that Garth Brooks deserved that title, but Garth put a bit of pop in his music and was also not respected so much when he was busted cheating on his wife of many years who stuck with him when he was working his way up. George Strait is a respectable modest man. As a matter of fact, as I recall from when I live in San Antone back the late 1980s, George live in a subdivision, I think it was called The Dominion. This was a subdividion with some multi million dollar houses in it. George had what was a modest house of around $500,000 at the time. This was after he could have afforded a couple of milion dollar house. So in spite of his success, he has remained a modest man and I think that is why he is so well loved by his fans.
