In my opinion, Jurassic World does the theme of "playing God" better than the OG Jurassic Park. The dinos in JP got out because an employee sabotaged the power, but in JW, the thing the created was simply so deadly that it OUTSMARTED the smartest species on the planet
In case you missed said detail, the dino clawed at the wall to make it seem like it had escaped so the humans would open the door to check the cage out, and when the humans did, it started its escapade of death. They decided to use them to hunt down the indo-rex because raptors are highly intelligent pack hunters , but because that thing was part raptor it was able to communicate with them and take his place as their alpha causing the raptors to turn on them and attack. Also in a side note the program Owen was apart of was running so they could figure pit how to “tame” and “train” raptors for war , which implies they had the same intentions for the indo-rex

Here, it wasn’t about how accurate they were, it was about how terrifying they could make them. So Hammond “played God” for scientific accuracy, and Claire “played God” for the fear aspect. Which is what makes Jurassic World so much more terrifying than Jurassic Park.
It wasn't really Claire that did it, though. She was part of it, but she was far more concerned with actually running the park, which was her job, than she was with the dinosaurs. To her they were simply assets to the park. Part of her character development is *understanding* that these "assets" are actual intelligent living beings. I mean, logically, she knows they are, but remember when she said "Hold on, we are talking about an animal!"? You can tell she doesn't think of them as animals the same way Owen does, for example. It's part of why she goes so hard in the sequels to save them all. Because she was partly responsible for doing this and for not considering them properly. You don't get to work with animals for years, not even truly viewing them as intelligent living beings, unless you're so far removed from the situation that, while yes, you're still responsible, they're basically just an exhibition. No different to a theme park ride. But it was mostly Henry Wu, Owen's boss and Masrani. Masrani permitted too much. Too few limitations. Directly requested assets for the fear aspect, as you accurately put it. Owen's boss saw them as potential weapons to be wielded. Henry Wu could so he did. It was a combination of all of their individual choices, including Claire's, yes, but it seems odd to single her out for this when she was likely the least involved with this particular aspect of the park.

Say all you want about Jurassic world vs Jurassic park, but there’s a reason why this movie is No. 4 on the highest grossing movies of the 2010’s. Whoever it was that decided to redo the Jurassic park series as Jurassic world was a genius and did it the perfect and right way.
I knew this movie went for nostalgic flare over an honourable homage, but I genuinely think they were onto something with the Indominus Rex here. The way Owen is genuinely terrified of the thing and desperately tries to get everyone to understand what he's seeing is spectacular. Unfortunately, things got completely muddled jn the execution and Claire isn't presented as the villain she actually is while the Indominus Rex never goes on a killing spree of civilians like it should've.
Why would the indo waste time with things she already knows she's superior to? Killing dinos who could pose a challenge would have her blood pumping way more

It's based on the pair of carnotaurus in the books. Their camouflage is so good they're almost impossible to see even while moving

The thing I like about this is the way they switched up the theme from the original Jurassic Park movie. In Jurassic Park, the goal was to make dinosaurs as accurate as possible. Here, it wasn’t about how accurate they were, it was about making the most terrifying creature. So while Hammond “played God” for scientific accuracy, Claire “played God” purely for the fear aspect. Which is what makes Jurassic World so much more terrifying than Jurassic Park. Don’t get me wrong, they are both amazing films, but if I had to choose which one was the most fear inducing, Jurassic World would be it.
