    Great intro to a great product to let the rest of us know. I have seen similar ones but never purchased to try. These look like a solid product! \O/

      This is the frist of its kinda i have seen. However it was since pointed out there are a couple other products like it. But I think Rope Rollers is a much better product and quality

    oh but I need a mast! lol on a real note we set up this exact same mast Saturday and it was a 4 person job (more like 7 of us out there messing about) to get it right. Good demo and really nice to have.

    Construction: Brass roller w/ SS springs & shafts. Is the body cast aluminum? Great for guying a mast, if your tie point is reachable to release it. You may need to loop back on itself to locate the cam somewhere in reach. Although not as reflective as other tent guy cordage, is it UV & rot resistant? Aside from the unknowns, looks like a winner.

      I was thinking of this, a high line, I would just invert the line. S carbeiner to the mast mounting point, then the RopeRoller on the stake.

    Frank...Just purchased some of these because of your review. One question....what is the item on the ground that you are anchoring the bottom of the mast with and where can we get one of those. This looks like a great system. As always, thank you for all of the great content on Tank Radio. You are helping Amateur Radio Operators everywhere!

    As a retired Scoutmaster, we have knots that do that. 😀
    Looks like they work much better than those plastic rope toggles.

      Some of us like the things at can make our lives easer so we can just get on the air faster. Plus the Rope Roller is all metal, it will not last that rope and thats including the knot on it.

    i can do that with just the cord. nothing else needed. just do a simple knot.
    in dot rope one man can way over tighten said dot rope to crush the load ( pending what it is made of).
    and the knot undoes it’s self when you undo it.

    'Your' figure 8 knot, is not. A figure 8 knot looks like a number 8, and is used to keep a line / rope from pulling out of a pulley, block, etc. The product replaces a taught-line hitch. I like it. Probably doesn't need adjusted every few days. Also, consider using a bowline for your loop. It does not strain the line like other knots do.

    • @TankRadio
      @TankRadio  5 месяцев назад +1

      Your right, i miss named the knot. Sorry about that. I have used the taughtline hitch before and it always used two hands to make it. I think the RopeRoller, is great for a single mans POTA setup.

    So a rope pulldown with a lock, a roller and a carbine hook - so virtually just another premade rope tensioner. Don't see where this helps setting up a full mast nor how to break the mast down with these on. Plus, these are metal parts which try to avoid on my fiberglass mast.

    It's "guying" not "guiding", "guy rope" not "guide rope".
