Hi Stephen,I live in London. When I was six years old I moved to Reorando beach and I also lived in Manhattan beach in California. I lived in the state's for 11in half years.Loving your RUclips channel. Keep going you're doing great talking about schizophrenia which I suffer with.Thank you for all your kindness and support love you and send my love to all your family.❤❤❤❤❤❤
That was a great walk I'm glad you took us along, that view is spectacular! I hope you bring a drink of water or a Gatorade on those long walks, stay hydrated! 👍
Really enjoyed this video Stephen. I think it showcases how natural of a RUclipsr you are to be able to have a content filled 35 min video. Hope you keep pushing yourself with these walks. I'm a little concerned about your high heart rate, but if you keep exercising you should be able to bring it down eventually. Thanks for the journey! Looking forward to the next one 🙂✌️
It was beautiful up on the hill seing the city and the yellow horizon in the distant. Congratulations also to the photo being admitted to the arts exhibition!
Wow, Stephen...so nice to join you for your walk today.... I'm so, so proud of you for taking the challenge. You have a beautiful neighborhood to walk in. Congrats on your art win!
Wow Steven! I feel like I'm there. I can almost feel the sunshine on my shoulder It's nice and flat on top of that cliff too. Nice for a cycle I expect. You know you can now look at the bluff as the place where you conquered fear and dispair. Where you chose to suffer the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune for the greater good and that has made such a difference to so many. On a separate note.., we discovered that there is an organisation here that helps people with disabilities like schizophrenia to get employment. The employers are understanding about disabilities and let you work as little or as much as you want ( they are mostly companies that have shift work). They are very flexible too about everything, even start times if you are tired in the mornings due to medication, you can have a late start. You are assigned a case worker to liaise with the employer on your behalf as needed. You can work full time too when and if you feel like it. You start with a 12 hour week and build up as you want. You can rotate between jobs to find which you like best. Aren't some companies great to offer this opportunity. It gets people out there and mixing which is great. The company we are looking at is a high tech logistic firm. So there will be loads to learn at your own pace. Maybe there is a similar organisation there?
Hi Noreen! Thank you for this great comment and encouragement! Employment will be essential for success in Stephen's life (i.e., fulfillment and meaning).
I do long so!itary..strolls, too..I started in high-profile school..I was bullied at school...my adopted parents couldn't or wouldn't understand the crisis..I was devopling..horrible depresion, mood swings..I thought I was spiritually gift with ESP..(Extra..sensory..perceptiin..) Like seeing/ hearing spirits..at. That I thought I was getting possed..by demons..I had no friends at school..just. Bullied..my parents..couldn't understand I was developing a severe mental- illness...and I had no insight then, either..my delusions I understood it was because that I had telepathy, and I saw/ heard..angels/demons..my long walks I took in a peace-ful forest not far from my house..where I say by a lake..and talked to God, the spirits, and the animals of the forest..I was about 16...it took 20 years to get my diagnosis..my parents didn't understand me, I was just "eccentric"..when I moved out of my parents house when I was 20.. I was still able to work...yet I had no health insurance..when I had severe episodes of asthma..attacks..( Which I could have died from( I had no rescue inhaler..I would walk in the cold weather, sometimes even snow/ ice..I was forced to walk 2 ..miles from my apartment..to the emergency room..hospital..and walked home, too..long solitary strolls by myself..in nature...helped me to cope..the only habit I had, that brought me peace- of mind..I still love to walk, but now I am 57 years old, with a bad knee..severe asthma..and COPD( emphasema..from smoking too many cigarettes...I quit smoking until I got a bad case of pnemonia..then I was forced to quit..I couldn't breath!..keep doing those long, peace- ful walks..doing that really helps.🤗🤗
I love to walk in the woods. But I walk slowly. It is called 'forest bathing', a Japanese concept. Just sitting on a log, picking up a leaf, or a branch. It is my medication against stress.
Congratulations on the photo contest Stephen! I hope you continue to succeed and give hope to others through your RUclips channel. I just wanted to add that it seems as though there are new emerging treatments for schizophrenia, including treatment resistant schizophrenia, such as KarXT which will most likely gain FDA approval by 2024. Hopefully you won’t have to get your blood drawn anymore!
It’s amazing how exercise really clears this all up isn’t it. If you stay consistent with it it only gets better and better I understand that’s difficult with clozapine
Hello Steven I hope you are doing good, I would like to know do you have goals in fitness I know the important is to having fun. But since you started have you seen progress? Dealing with extreme fatigue is really challenging but I m sure with mental strength you can do great. I remember this video you were doing squats. Talking about plank and push ups, how many can you do now I would be curious. Have a great day my friend.
@@SurvivingSchizophrenia sorry for all the questions, when your out walking how do you keep the video so level are you using a selfie stick or what way do you do that part 😀
