Hey man is there a way to change the odometer reading from miles to km and change the mpg to l/100 km and change the ambient and oil temps from fahrenheit to celsius?
Hi, there is a problem with the wipers on my car when i press it down its keep moving continuously, and the time adjustment didn't work, what is your suggestions, grateful.
sadly not, i havent been much around mk4s to know much about them to be fair they share the same platform as seat leon and audi s3/tt so it wouldnt be suprising if brakes suspension engine etc can all swap over
The service interval hack doesn't work for me.. maybe coz I have a us spec cluster?? Pushing the trip reset and and the minute counter together doesn't do anything
@@Project7YT no it does not. When you do the other method and get the rev counter and other settings, I get that. Just nothing to do with ino or oel. That method doesn't work. Tried with ignition on and key out. Dunno?
Make sure you press down first then up to neutral and count the time you want it on for and back down? If it still doesn't work check you have the 99 fuse in your car
@@Project7YT ah it appears I do not have relay 99. I have a few open spots for relays. Would you happen to know which relay port relay 99 would go into? Edit. Got relay 99. This confirm works 👍
@@jackhogan2077 think it is yeah, sure they can be bought for around £30, been a while since I looked at them. Or if your good with DIY, use the lupo or mk4 cupholder setup but that involves cutting the dash or not having a stereo
The absolute best thing you can do with a MK3 Golf (excluding the VR6) is to scrap it. Put the money towards buying a MK2 or MK1, or MK5 upwards. MK3 and MK4 were dog shit. Heavy and slow.
What does it matter, you like what you like. Funny really because a lot of mk3s get scrapped for there engines and running gear and other parts and placed into older Volkswagens so they can't be that bad. The mk3s got a lot of refinements that older generations didn't get.
Actually, MK3 is the one to have. Real easy to work on and cheap. MK4 was already built a lot more superficially and user-non-friendly. Just try changing door locking mechanisms mk3 vs mk4, for example and you'll see.
I have a 1.6 '97 mk3 wagon and thanks for the facts, i'll be checking them out!

Does the OEL setting get lost with a löss of battery ?
I'm not sure I don't think so
Hey , that video helped me a lot , I wondered if there's any way to find out the fuel consumption because mines consumes way too much these days
Thanks
Yes gti and above (maybe tdi) have MFA which displays oil temp, mpg etc.
@@Project7YT mine is 1.6 GL it does shows everything what is shown in the video but I can't find any way about fuel consumption
That's because it's not a gti. See above comment about MFA

Hey man is there a way to change the odometer reading from miles to km and change the mpg to l/100 km and change the ambient and oil temps from fahrenheit to celsius?
I'm sure there's specialist tools you can use but I don't think you can change them in settings.
I would've said use European clocks
When you select the digital rev counter, the fuel gauge starts to interact too. What is it measuring man?
Does it? Mine was OK, wondering if you have wiring issues or a faulty sender
@@Project7YT Possibly. Doesn't do it whilst idling but if you pull away and drive, the gauge goes mad. Could just be my golf that does that??
@@bendavies8744 no that could be a loose connection
@@Project7YT Okay dude, thanks. Was hoping it was a feature :D

Check you have a "99" relay on the fuse box
@@Project7YT Thanks for the reply, yes there is one, actually there is an extra one, and the two of them have the same problem.

If you have a button on the left stalk (for the wipers)
