When you fit a Ferrari V12 but a 202 with triples sounds better!! Maybe a different exhaust config. Even Harry's garage Jag V12 sounds more V12-y than this currently.
A 202 with triples never makes power past 4000rpm, they just make noise and hiss. The 186 was a better revving motor, and boring them to 202 whilst keeping the 186 head for higher compression was the better way to go. The factory 202 was never as good as a big bore 186. Even then, they didn't make power after a certain rev range, the dyno printouts always showed either a drop off or a flatline.

Sounds weird not having that V8 noise but it just goes to show regardless of what power plant you stick under the bonnet of any car, you end up with a beast if it's done right. Great job guys!
I absolutely love this car, but it's a bit of a shock now hearing it sound like my mum's vacuum cleaner. Especially after the last engine it had in it. 😂
Awesome to finally see this beast on the road. But thought it'd have a few more horses than what its got. Not too worry, it's on the road & it smokes the tyres & that's what matters. Now what do we call it? Is it a Torari or a Ferrana? LOL. Who cares, Great to finally see it on the road.
What an amazing combination !!! damn that Torrie looks tough and the rear tubs needed to fit that rubber in was totally worth it ... Big Respect Man !! There is a shitload of work going into that rare beast ... absolutely well done .. next time im passing through Castlemaine i hope to see it enjoying some time outside.
Congrats on the immense effort, energy.expertise and money poured into this very very unique engine swap .... I hope you enjoy mate for years to come and I'm sure you'll change things along the way. What most counts is your very very happy with the result and that what counts ....👍
Well I have to be honest and say that was the most underwhelming v12 swap video I've seen...it sounded more like a modern day straight 6 with an opf and cats.. definitely needs a high flow cat and better exhaust set up .... but other than that kudos on the unique build
Been waiting to see this. Not sure why people are complaining about the exhaust note in the comments, it’s such a cool thing, and obviously wasn’t easy to pull off.
Sound of the car just don't meet the expactation of 11 000 rpm screaming engine. Don't get me wrong, but that sounded huge blower (bumblebee similar build) at no blow and slow mow.
Piss that power glide off and go t56 magnum, this thing needs to rev. Also would run titanium exhaust with different mufflers, can hardly hear it, Apart from that, I love this thing 👌🏻
Nice job, men! Don’t listen to the folks that didn’t like this or that about it. Change only what you don’t like! You’ve done well at breaking outside the box and then stepping on it! You’ve made it work, made it unique, made it yours and that’s all that matters!
Time for some turbos!! @DDE did it with a similar engine possibly even the same engine but seemed to work great for them they are now building a gymkhana style car with the set up
HELL YEAH BROTHER WHAT A BADAZZ CAR AND WE DEFINITELY MISS WARBIRD AT CLEETUS AND CARS HOPEFULLY ONE DAY YOU CAN COME DOWN TO THE STATES AND DRIVE TOAST AT THE FREEDOM FACTORY THAT WOULD BE BADAZZ ALSO 😂
Love it, perfect street power for a car that weighs nothing. The vid doesn't do the sound justice would be better in person. Wicked build congrats bro👍🇦🇺🍻
Really cool combination, and I'm happy to see it finally running and driving. I'm a bit surprised at the torque numbers being kinda low. I guess I thought the torque would be closer to matching the HP on that v12. Haltech will be beneficial with any future power upgrades in the future...
This is wild mate specially for a small town in Victoria blown away she might not be screaming but it's streetable just needs some rear seats let the family times roll
Thanks for keeping the Castlemaine rod shop at the forefront of excellence in engineering. Rod would be so proud of what you are doing, true blue Aussies.
maybe the video audio might sound different in person, but yeah I think something needs to be done with the exhaust? Maybe titanium straight pipes, could always do some AES cutouts? ........and idk, not my car not my money, but I feel a manual of sorts would have been better? Rowing gears with a V12 would have been cool. Dunno what box would fit or work with it all tho, glides are pretty small no?
Well sounds very different to what I was expecting going to be a cool LC now. You need a Ferrari style rid shop sticker now on the screen the old sticker looks out of place. Love it Heath all the best from xa wagon family in the UK.
You should have straight piped that motor there's nothing like the scream of an NA Ferrari V12 especially considering that motor is a detuned Enzo motor but only by 40hp.
I had an LC. I chased a BMW along the Federation highway and I was catching it. I was at about 105 mph and I was catching him. But I had to drop back because the car started to float, very narly. With that motor and gear box I still think it will still be too light at speeds over 160kph. Wish it was mine though. 😎👍
Great concept, but have do something about that exhaust note. Whats the point of having a V12 powered Torana if it doesn't have the matching sound track.
Using a Powerglide is such an odd choice lol. . Cool swap - unfortunately the only time you'd ever know, that it has a Ferrari V12, is when it's parked up and the hood is popped.
What a cool beast but yer the sound was too muffled and had no scream to it. Ferrari was known for the screaming V12, that sounds like a tractor. Please do the car some justice and update the exhaust on it. Its defiantly a head turner and hopefully should put smiles on many peoples faces including yours.
Blasting! That looks like my dad's Torana, bought new in Melbourne about 1970/71...what year did you buy this as a 14 year-old? Could we check the heritage? Do you know the car's history? The name of the original owner? Love yr work mate!
Ooff! I was expecting the sound of a typical Ferrari V12. What's going on here? Firing order? Equal length headers? Exhaust? It's gotta be those three factors, right?
Funny enough it doesn't sound much different then the six banger it come with from factory or am I trippin tell me that doesn't sound like a 265 Holden worked
Got to be honest, I was expecting a screaming V12 and it wasn't.
And more power...thats like ls1 power 🥺
I know these guys can do as they please and whatever, me personally i liked the 8 that was in it.
that trans is sucking a lot of power out of it
This is the 5.7 litre v12 not the 6 or 6.5 litre. It was never going to sound how people thought it would.
needs a 12 to 1 exhaust then it would scream
Ferrari about to send a cease and desist letter for making their V12 sound like an ecotec 😂 hope to see some nice pipes on it soon

I’m predicting the power glide will eventually go.
A close ratio 5 or 6 speed manual is what a high revving Ferrari V12 is screaming out for.
So good to see that you've finally got the Real Deal Torana moving under its own power finally. . Well done to all involved.
Very nice mate, bhp is not everything if it was you’d have never pulled the 8 I’m guessing. Engineering standpoint alone she’s a 10
