Made my year! First the New Zealand three-Test series success, in New Zealand: now this great 2023 Six Nations Grand-Slam victory, at home in Ireland. Perfection! To think how many young Irish youngsters will wish to mirror these heroes leaves little doubt in my mind. This is Legacy stuff in it's truest form. Youngsters need their Heroes; they need their dreams of being Heroes, they need the knowledge that, with dedication to a cause, all things are possible..I watched this victory with my fouryear-old Grandson, who also watched 'spell-bound'. All he said at the finish was, "Pappy, Ireland are great".. 'Out of the mouths'...eh... There's another wee Hero, maybe 😉..... "Whiskey!"
So deserved !! A magnificent 2023 tournament for a great Irish Team, big respect !! I've been a French fan of the Green Army for more than 20 years ! I was in Dublin, Temple Bar, to watch the match and the Grand Slam ceremony ! A great souvenir, thanks a lot guys for that gift !!!
the feeling around the country, the buzz, its just amazing, still buzzing, people everywhere on every corner can relate, its just so amazing, its like Italia 90 just watch the thronged streets.
Well done Ireland, deserved game and 6 Nations winners . They look really strong, England played well especially after their previous game, but Ireland were excellent. I liked how the teams mingled after the game, there seem to be several friendship groups between the teams which is nice to see.
Delighted this team won a Grand Slam. Would have been interesting if it had stayed 15 v 15, still think Ireland would just about have got it done though. Not at their best which might not be a bad thing ahead of the World Cup, might lowered expectations a little bit. Looking forward to what should be a competitive, open World Cup.
I have been a proud Irish man and supporter of every Irish team down through the years, but team is by far the best I have ever watched, something I have noticed is the way the can switch direction, before Irish teams would struggle to get the ball out, way too slow, not this team, I really do believe that we are we with the biggest fighting chance in the world cup, aslong as we can avoid serious injuries
Thought the red card was too harsh. The incident with Antonio in the France game was much more deserving of red, yet only got a yellow. It somehow makes the victory less satisfying. England certainly stepped up to the mark today in comparison to last week while Ireland were not as polished as before. Overall, you'd have to say that they deserved the Slam though.
Refs are told that once there is direct contact to the head made by the tackler that comes with high degree of danger the defender is off. They are trying to change behaviour I guess in the long term but it does make some games a bit of a lottery. In any case with a GS in the bag nobody will remember the circumstances down the road. Just what the record books say.
What about sexton getting the shoulder to the back of the head, should have been another card. England are devoid of any creativity, Ireland made hard work of it by uncharacteristic handling errors etc. Ireland deserved to win.
Yes for sure the history of world cups tell us, you will see how one of the much vaunted teams will implode miserably. At that level everything depends on the day who gets on of their day. How many times all blacks were hot favourites and fell?
That try from Ireland at the 32 minute mark was class , no 2 throws into the line out, then hides himself briefly and then drops the pedal to hit the line at speed to take the pass and runs through a gaping gap created by a dummy. Even the English were smiling at the cunning of the job.
Don’t bank on that a lot can happen in six months cum the World Cup Ireland will choke like they always do at world cups they won today if it was 15 vs 15 second half i think they could have beaten Ireland luck of the Irish eh against 13
La série d'invincibilité des irlandais se terminera un jour ... pendant le mondial ? The streak of invincibility of the Irish will end one day ... during the world?
Well we will lose eventually. Everybody does. France were on a 14 game winning streak until they lost in Dublin. Ireland are now on a 10 game streak. With WC warmup games and the tournament itself we would need to break the world record unbeaten streak to have no defeats and win the tournament. We’ll see how it goes.
@@karlosdeevs I think it’s pretty safe to say that we will not go unbeaten forever and ever from here on out. That’s the only prediction that I have made.
Well done Ireland , a great tournament. Please remember to give up and coming Irish talent a chance, you dont always have to rely on Kiwis or SAFAS to bolster the team. Well done and heres to the World Cup.

He has to ref to the laws he braced for the impact the red card was correct it’s unfortunate but once it’s head you get a red it’s really that simple these have been the rules for years.
Sure mistakes can happen but the tackle being reduced from a red to a yellow is too little too late. Jaco Peyper got this major decision wrong. At the time this incident happened the game was finely balanced and France might have won the 6 Nations. What is more worrying is that VAR asked the ref to take a second look when in real time no-one in the studio thought anything untoward had taken place. This is not Ireland's fault, but it slightly takes away from their achievement and the real loser here is rugby, as fans all over the world lose some faith in their sport!!!

Ireland will have to play way better than that at the rwc 2023 , because France and England will be better at the rwc Ireland could possibly face either France or new Zealand in the quarter finals
Ireland's critical weakness in previous world cups was the inability to grind out results in the face of any form of adversity like injuries, cards etc. This team absolutely can do that.
England came to spoil and that's what they did. They never looked like scoring for most of the match. If you set out to stop the other team you will affect the quality of the oppositions performance but you will rarely win. Such was the extent of England's ambitions. The result is all that mattered to Ireland.

Red card was extremely harsh and ruined a good game.
Not harsh, he could have played the ball or tackled the man, he did neither but tucked his arm and shoulder while turning in midair instead.
You might think it was harsh but Ireland lost Hugo Keenan for the rest of the game because of Stewards elbow, there has to be consequences
Use your arms to tackle or …change angle and get out of the way…
Been applied consistently across the game over the last few years
Not harsh, simple application of the head contact rules. English player jumped into contact with his shoulder.
