I took cine film of the school in 1972-73. This is the first in a series of short films that we hope you will enjoy! This is just the school (before it was cleaned!).
1972 we moved into the Old Fort Prescott Street. You can see the Royal being built as I did for 7 years out of my bedroom window. Went to Rathbone then the Collegiate for 1 year 78/79 before we moved. Great video just as I remember it. Thanks for uploading.👍🙌
i love footage like this. i'm american and so it's fascinating to see a slice of everyday life that was unique to that moment only moreso cuz' it's another country. my dad had tons of 8mm film from when we were kids in the 70's that had been transfered to vhs and due to certain circumstances it's gone forever now which really sucks. even if i know nothing about the people in it old footage like this is as close to a time machine as we'll ever get.
My old school 67-73. Happy days. Bill Currie
Oh my word! Brings back memories. I was in 4B in 1973! Thanks for sharing👍
Glad it was good for you!!
What a Wonderful old film. I am from the South End of The City but grew up in this time period. I left school in 1976.

@@michaelgaskell7408 million pound flats now...shame. I reckon the fire was deliberate to get them made.
@@bobwallacejnr6852 What fire? has the collegiate been knocked down ?
@@bobwallacejnr6852 Yes it was started deliberately but by local kids from the area!
