I know right. I been shooting a long time and purty good but when you're too good to not learn anymore, ur bad, this guy will remind even the highest pedestaled person(to themselves) they ALWAYS GOT MORE TO LEARN, in ten min iv got a new little modification to one of my drills that will compliment it well, NONE OF US ARE BETTER THAN ALL OF US
@@joegibson5715 I knew many people in the navy who did nuclear power for 18 years. That doesn’t mean they could make it interesting and relatable nor did they have the passion nor interest that he has for the people on the receiving end.
I appreciate you so much. I’ve always been around firearms but last year when I saw you on the Vigilance Elite podcast, I started following you, the Fieldcraft crew, and AMCON. This last year I have learned so much from your crew. I have been putting in work and I hope next year I can actually come train with your crew and not hold the class back. Thats pretty much what I look forward to daily while I’m training locally!
Just finished an amazing 3 hour interview on Jocko podcast with Mike G and now Mike drops a quick another great instructional video. Tis a great Friday.
One of the, if not THE, best videos I’ve seen on real world immediate threat shooting. Bottom line you can not wait for a sight picture when the threat is immediate. You must go and then pick up the sights later.
This why visualization is an important training tool. Reaction will always be behind action you already behind the power curve. Ad to that tunnel vision and all that comes with fight flight and realistic training is vital. Great video
Love the fact the you're evolving the content a bit deeper with each segment. I've watched all of your shot process videos and they get more concise yet more detailed each time.
Nicely done. The logic of making the first shot at or near the pump house is spot on. From there use the guns natural tendency to rise, therefore increasing speed(decreasing time) for the next shot. Well done.
Bother I saw one of your videos a long time ago which detailed single man CQB in a house you own or rent. It seems that I have missed most of your stuff since then and stumbled upon this video and I have to say, WELL PUT, FACTUAL,ARTICULATE and entertaining to say the least. Nice to hear and see someone be able to direct and instruct without all the filler. KEEP UP THE AWESOME WORK thank you for the awesome content I will be looking for your feed.
Thank you for this Mike. I'm teaching my wife to shoot, and explaining to her that getting shots on center mass quickly is more important than taking your time and shooting their eyeball out. Very well presented and concise. Great atuff.
Not just Horner, but most of the best competition shooters in the world shoot with a target focus and see their sights peripherally. Shooting with a dot is a great way to train this. One thing that Mike didn't mention that also applies is the concept of natural point of aim and index. Natural point of aim is where the gun naturally points if you are standing square, close your eyes, then draw/extend the gun. Index is the same thing, except it is when you are aligned anywhere other than where your feet pointed. The goal is to try to have the sights aligned (peripherally with a target focus) the instant the gun hits the target. Being able to snap a gun to the target and rattle off 4 or 5 .12 splits is a formidable tool to have access to. Good stuff Mike.
Mike is one of the few instructors who explain the why and how, pros and cons, excellent explanation of the full shooting continium from reactive, to point, to threat and front sight focus, the full spectrum. Thank you Sir. With Zipper you can train that perfectly, a staple also with Roger Phillips.. 👍👌❤️🙏✌️🇺🇸
And through repetitive training you will build the muscle memory necessary to become proficient in these techniques. Mike is one of the best instructors I have heard, be able to articulate how to perform a given technique. This is a rare talent. I've been a LEO Firearms Instructor for over 30 years and have known many highly skilled and knowledgeable Instructors who just can't transfer the information via the spoken word. In Mike you can easily both understand what he is saying and demonstrating.
Awesome vid. I do appreciate addressing how to “turn them off.” A police vet in my handgun safety course gave me a reality check that a person will still operate for about 6sec after you’ve successfully shut down their heart or lungs. When someone can travel an average of about 6ft/sec, they’ve still got 3sec of kill time on you. Shooting up was the method he said was most effective as well.
Did a Class here in Fort Worth..Loved the attention to detail and the explanations in the shot process..reinstilling those instructions..would love to do another class
Thanks man, that was amazing advise. Everything you put out on video is priceless. Thank you for being so selfless. I need to get to one of your classes.
Great video Mike! Makes perfect sense to me, stop or slow the threat as fast and, "Effectively" as possible. I've heard so many times first shot front sight focus! Front sight focus! But training with your process I'm much more consistent, more accurate and faster running your drills at the range, awesome! Thank you so much for your efforts.
Bro, I/we (my family and I) watch your vids, break them down, go slow and practice what you show. Thank you for taking the time and effort to make a difference
Thank you for being able to articulate clear and concise information. I deal with people constantly that can not do this. They teach something they read in an FM or TM with no So What! Behind it.
I never even got good training in the army and I was infantry. I've gotten more training and better training from watching sgm glover from tactical rifleman from all these amazing green berets delta and seals then I ever could have got from the army thank you all for what you do and have done for all of us!
I was thinking about this the other day, that if an imminent threat is about to make contact one should fire before they truly have a good aim on target to get more shots down range to stop it quicker. Thanks for the breakdown and explanation.
I normally don't read all the comments but when Mike says some people accuse him of something,I'm like ,are you serious. I watch a lot of different people's videos and I been shooting since I was 7 ( I'm 70 now) and no one come close to Mike's presentation. Just do it like that and you'll be fine. 😎👍
I remember like it was yesterday, the first time I rolled in on target seeing bullets coming back my way. EVERYTHING changed. Nice video Mike. Thumbs up.
Nice video as usual Mike! "I wear a size 13 shoe" that comment was priceless. Also, spread the love to from sternum to the credit card box. Mad props Mike for sharing your knowledge. Thank you!
This is a great practice round will do this thanks for this always learn from you something small sometimes big always thankful going to get out to goldendale with you soon need to learn and trust in you thanks man
Some guys I've served with that haven't gone to classes, haven't done more dynamic training are still practicing just simple marksmanship, which is good. Know your fundamentals but in the real world, you're not gonna be shooting 1 round a second at paper regardless of range. This is also why I advocate red dots even starting on pistols because in a kinetic situation like in self defense, reading a red dot is much faster for your mind to process than lining up a front and rear sight. They'll say "Oh, at that point, you don't need to aim, just point shoot". To that I say, that's an excuse for poor marksmanship. You need to be aware of things. Even firing your handgun from retention requires a degree of knowing what you're aiming at. That's why more people need to go to a real class and get training on movements, drawing under stress and shooting vs simply at an in door range. Because you can be the best shooter hitting center at 25 but if that target is moving is where your skills will really show or you're moving.
Great info! The trouble I have is now that I’m in my late 40s I need glasses or contacts. When I’m wearing corrective lenses I’m having a hard time adjusting…the joys of getting older I suppose. Again…thank you for this video.
I find it so futile when anyone tries to question someone like Mike with his experience, not to mention he is pretty descriptive on what he is doing before he does the drill. Excellent shooting Mike!!!! You set the bar way above "the bar".
Jesus this guy is amazing at explaining this stuff in ten minute hits.
I almost prefer the 10 minute hits. I feel like an entire weekend would be like drinking from a firehose.

WOW, terrific instruction from a guy that has actually successfully used his gun in the offense of his life!

Turn Them Off i.e. Stop the Threat.
Great teaching Sgt. Major Mike!
Outstanding podcast #291 with Jocko.
Mike is a super impressive warrior
I've listened to that entire podcast three times. Mike's story is almost unbelievable. Great stuff.
Ive watched many hours of Mike Glover videos and listened to a good few podcasts. Thanks you for the top tier information!
Mike is the best instructor imo on RUclips. He's humble, intelligent, and extremely talented at what he does. What a badass!! Thank you Mr. Glover!

That is absolutely the best explanation I have ever heard for myself. You broke it down in a way that I can understand it thank you
This dude is incredibly legit. I love seeing people attempt to troll on a guy who has years of experience actually doing the things he is teaching.
Mike keep doing a tremendous job. As an LEO just as in the military you never stop learning and never stop taking advice. Thank you and stay safe!
My favorite video you’ve done so far. Practical, real life, and from an expert! Oh and it was free. Thank you Mike! Keep these vids coming! 💪⚡️

Thanks Mike. You explain things in a way that makes total sense to me. You have a gift brother.
Thank you for your service to our great country!
The way he breaks it down makes it sound so simple
Thanks for another great video. I really like the fact that you still run regular sights and talk about using them.
I enjoyed when he explained how he stitched up the sternum and then demonstrated his shots. A true trained professional
