Thanks for posting this. It's an interesting thing to watch . I see some similarities to what I'm used to in doing SCA armored combat, believe it or not. It's pretty easy to tell who the more experienced fencers are. They tend to be a little faster and more fluid in their motions and they understand measure and striking with intent better than the newer fencers. The techniques are a bit different from seeing SCA armored but I think the spirit is the same. I think I'm going to start coming to open gym in February. Hell I might even take the intro to longsword class again just for gits and shiggles.
This was my first fencing tournament. It was a fun and great learning experience. YHF are great people and I couldn't have asked for a better group to go down with. Also, besides some repeat footage throughout, at 10:58 to 13:18 is one of Jon Groves' (fencer in black and yellow) matches. Just a note for the editor.😉
