Hey there, I joined the Loupedeck Team earlier this year and am responsible for the streaming products for the company. I wanted to thank you for the detailed feedback. You put together a great video addressing a lot of points that can be very frustrating. We are aware that there is a lot that we can improve on and we are currently in the process of fixing a lot of the issues you pointed out. Thanks again for the video and I hope that the upcoming changes will help to ease your frustrations!
Thank you, I appreciate the feedback on the video too! Looking forward further updates... In the mean time, enjoying the new functionality with 5.1! Thanks again. 🙏 😊
Hi there, i’m using Loupedeck live on windows, but the buttons and the dials is not working, the lights is off, but the touch panel is working well. is there anything i could do? I’ve tried everything said on Loupedeck website, But still not working. Thanks before. Nice video!
Glad to hear this. I'm sure it's a lot better now than it was a year ago when you wrote this, and when the video was put up, but it still has a long way to go to be seamless.
There's a lot I like about Loupedeck Live vs Streamdeck in terms of what I need. I initially found Loupedeck nearly opaque. But I've watched this video and his other two, plus the Loupedeck intro video and I am able to get programmed what I need and want. I am on Loupedeck 5.9, so it's come a long ways. And I haven't gotten into the micromanagement of apps yet, just switching between them. I sure wish there were more out of the box profiles for specific apps, even if they were just user created and of varying quality. Seems like lots of folks are making their own and would upload them if it was easy.... Anyway, my experience is pretty good so far, certainly not going to return it. I hope y'all keep making it better 'cause it's a VERY useful device with tons of possibilities!
Hi - I’ve been watching your Loupedeck videos with interest, I’ve played with the software for the last few days and my Loupedeck Live arrived today. The software is now now 5.7.1 (for Mac) and I am pleased to say that many (of not most) of the concerns you talk about have been addressed I think. You can copy actions from one profile and paste them in another for example - very helpful - and I *think* means that you can have a set up with actions from multiple different applications now. It’s only been a few hours but I have enjoyed setting it up - none of the software applications I am using has a profile or plug in (apart from Spotify), but I mainly wanted a was to control audio output using faders so the dials are very important to me. I am using the device mainly with Transitions DJ (free), Audio Hijack and Fission to prep and rehearse a hospital radio show. I am already sure that it is going to work very well for that! Keep up the good work, but a general update video might be worth doing I think.
Thank you for the great video. I've been a programmer and photographer for 40 years, and thought I was going crazy with LoupeDeck. I love the hardware, especially the dials for making adjustments in Lightroom and PhotoShop. I also use it a lot for drawing with Clip Studio Paint, Fresco, and Krita.... But the software design is pretty bad overall.
I think a lot of us had that same feeling! I have been contacted by members of the LoupeDeck team to say that they are aware of some of the UI issues and are intending to fix them in the next software release!
I find it far more user friendly than Stream Deck ones. The auto-profile switcher works, unlike the stream deck one. Builtin profiles are great, and custom ones are super easy to build. I had the stream deck 15 button one, and struggled to make it work on a system scale. I was able to make it work on a single app..Teams, which was the reason to get it all along. But i found it very limited when trying to use/build profiles per app I use. The Loupedeck built-in profiles just worked! Out of the box, the device interacted with my apps, and for those wishlist items, I’ve built the actions very easily. As a creator for hobby, the Loupedeck works perfect out of the box, and a professional, the productivity options already available in the marketplace for LD, I found it to have a very low barrier of entry for usability. I will grant that I’m on Version 5.8.1 so perhaps that has changed since. Thanks for the videos!
I got my Loupdeck CT and as much as I love the hardware, I am disappointed with the software and coding. This inconsistency you are pointed out are frustrating.I think I will return it.
I was contacted by someone from LoupeDeck and told that all of the issues I mentioned in this video were already on their list of issues to be addressed, and many would be in the next software release. If you can, it may be worth hanging on to it to see what the next release is like... alternatively return it and look out for reviews when the new software comes out! It is such a shame that the software has let the hardware down though... I know of a lot of people who returned them because of the user interface issues!
@@TakeOneTech thanks for reaching out. It is the simple things missing. Even when adding a new program to launch, loupdeck is not taking over its icon. In example, I want to add outlook to open and assign via 'run' outlook.exe but then loupdeck is not capturing the icon, I need to go through the hassle and assign an own one. Why can't loupdeck not just use the outlook icon? Do I do something wrong?
I love the Loupe Deck hardware, but always felt that the software let it down a little bit... the recent software update was a big improvement though! 🙏😊
The inability to change profiles from the device is kind of a deal breaker for me. I've already bought it and I've been messing with it a bit today. If I want to work in one program but control another it's a bit of a hassle and defeats what is a potential major advantage of having it in the first place. I'm considering buying the Stream Deck+ and seeing if that works any better for me. In addition, the haptic feedback is a joke. If anyone is thinking it will feel like an iPhone when they press a button, forget about it. It just vibrates for a half of a second. I was hoping the extra knobs and physical buttons would provide more flexibility over the Stream Deck+ but I'm starting to suspect the deficient software is going to hold this back from being a worthwhile investment. The marketplace is also sad. This is a device that's been out for two years. I can't believe how few profiles are available for the device. Why don't they have someone working at Loupedeck pumping out a profile a week? It's a shame because the hardware is nice. I'm going to give it more time but I feel buyer's remorse creeping in.
Ive noticed that there is a dynamic data capability showing on the buttons ? how is that acheived ? These are from preprogrammed profiles as far as I know.
i agree it's great and clunky at the same time and certainly not intuitive plus why is there music on their training videos?? there is no need for music - it's training not advertising.
I have officially retired my Loupedeck. As soon as Stream Deck Plus cam out with dials it removed the only thing LoupeDeck had over Stream Deck for my and my needs personally. It's a shame, because the hardware was compact and solid. Just the software let it down.
Could someone help please ?. I've installed the Loupedeck and am connected using ethernet. System is working but it will not let me connect to marketplace.
With the lack of plugins and inability to switch profiles via a button vs the app it’s tough to find a lot of uses for it. For me personally. Dynamic mode seems to have glitches when toggling on/off. The only way to change profiles manually is with the software open. It defeats the purpose. For those apps without plugins your forced to use hot keys with an application profile that you have to load manually?
Hey Great Video, Sorry for Noob question, i cant work out how to simply open a document or Folder on a Mac ?? (which is a 10sec job to create on Streamdeck)
I've got the loopdeck live and I have a problem, I don't know if it is a common problem belong other users by the way. When I'm working on Adobe Audition I have a pluggin donwloaded for that and it running great, the problem is when I'm not using the loopdeck for more than 3 minutes without pressing any button seems like it goes in a kind of sleep mode and after to press a button again take around 2 or 3 seconds in ejecute that action of the button which is kinda annoying. Anyone else has this problem?
Great Videos. How would you go about creating this for Maya or any other software package. I am trying to select an item, go into the attributes channel box of that item and then use the dials to change the attribute and set it. Or is this not possible?
I cannot get the software to download to my Mac studio. Device looks helpful but without software download it is unusable. Loupedeck could not figure out solution
Hey! Do you know how to edit the buttons on the Lightroom "overlay" button (page 2 lefthand lower corner), which activates the crop tool? It's a kind of submenu. I would like to change the aspect ratios there to my liking, but I can't figure out how to do it.
Hi, my Loupedeck Live has an issue where the buttons and dials stop working suddenly and even the home button has no LED. Anyone experience this issue? It seems to come back randomely. Swop to another PC also same issue.
Gee, I was hoping that you would explain why this is confusing and try to clarify areas. After watching, I feel that you made this more confusing, especially trying to compare the two softwares. I would have wanted just to focus on the loupdeck. Anyway, not helpful.
