It's worth more than that. That car is priceless!♥️
Great story. Early C3 Corvettes are really starting to be appreciated in collector car circles. Just so distinctive looking.
I'll bet it would bring more than 30-40K.. RIP Paul Newman
It's a 1970 Corvette with a Small Block/Auto combination.
$20k for it is actually high for what they sell for with the same configuration.
The autograph adds NO value to the car.
Who really knows.
The more times passes, the rarer and more valuable they will become obviously. I would pay 30-40k for that car believing I would be able to get quite a bit more for that when the electric cars take over.
@61Tbird. Yeah, you're the great expert on autographs. Hahaha Don't quit your day job.
The best body style in my opinion, when I think Corvette this is what I picture.
That quite a sweepstakes. The most i got for a sweepstakes was just last summer, got a pair of mountain dew baja blast beach towels
I got a desert of the month for 12 months. It was actually pretty awesome but not a Corvette. I just walk across the road, my neighbor has a Corvette and a Hellcat so I get my jollies at his house.
I was thinking of the mug that I got in a raffle.....with a picture of a Vette on it.
I remember seeing these on the showroom floor as a kid and still love them👍👍
Wow what a ride awesome
Very Nice. What a story, thanks for sharing. I had the pleasure to be in Bowling Green at the Corvette Museum on the 50th Anniversary in 2003. They had a huge turnout that day with a complete car show with many owners showing off their beauties. Hold on to this gem.
My first thought was with all the suitable Corvette appraisal entities out there, who was she to evaluate this car. I know my way around Corvettes and I feel that she did her homework, didn't say anything stupid, and I feel that her evaluation was well thought out and quite accurate.
That's awesome. And great charity also. God bless you
She’s Crazy!! That Car Going For Over 100K Easily
Gorgeous my fav car ever
I miss live Roadshow and Leila is one of my favorites! Of course the Linda Hamilton in the first Terminator movie resemblance helps too 😀
C3 corvettes are amazing.
My mom worked at a Holiday Inn during the 1980s... he stayed there... he wouldn't sign any autographs... but he did sign his bill, lol... I'm not sure who ended up keeping it, but mom got a copy of it.
Still the sexiest car ever made. Mm-mm-mm.
Up there with the E-Type
Third to the E type and the 63 - 67 Stingrays.
@@dielaughing73 close, but XKE still on top. Now, if your talking brutal attitude, instead of sexy beauty, E type drops a few spots.
When I was a kid . This was the car of my dreams . I spent so much time working on it but then I watched Goolardie and I blew it up.
Newman wasn't reclusive, he would separate himself from Hollywood to be in motorsports events all over the country sometimes surrounded by thousands of people.
He even "shushed" my in-laws at the Cineramadome in 1983.
My Father in law was a huge fan, and when they brought my baby
sister-in-law to a premiere and she started bawling, Newman
shushed them and FIL about died.

Racers in the SCCA events he competed in, treated him like a racer, not a celebrity. No crowding around for autographs, or standing around staring. He treated us like friends and fellow competitors. I would say hello, or good morning to him, in passing, just like, I would do with anyone else I don't know, and he would look you in the eye, and return the greeting. No one expected any more than that, of him. Great guy, in my book, and well respected in the racing culture, for his skills.
Love it! Didn't know you liked cars also! Very impressive, keep em coming!😊
My my father bought my brother, a 1968 stingray back in 68 and it had a removable top
fun one!
How could people NOT know Paul Newman was philanthropic?? You’d have to live under a rock to not know about Newmans Own products and that the proceeds go to charity
I've heard the name on various things, but know nothing about him. I was born in the 80s, so he's before my time making obscure movies to younger generations.
@@litigioussociety4249 His movies aren’t obscure. They’re classics. You’ve never heard of butch cassidy and the Sundance kid? He was even In a movie with Tom cruise. It’s not like he lived 100 years ago!! I was born in 1980 and have seen most of his movies
@@kristin4840 You probably saw them, because your parents, siblings, etc. exposed you to them. They aren't the type of movies that were heavily rereleased or run on major network television. Those older westerns didn't age well with younger generations, which is why a new breed came out in the 90s.
It's all subjective, but just because you're familiar with the guy does not mean you can infer that he's well-known and acclaimed by the general public. Paul Newman is not someone comparable to people like Jimmy Stewart.
@@litigioussociety4249 - Paul Newman in obscure movies? Paul Newman is one of the best known actors of all time. Just because he was, "before your time", doesn't mean you have to remain ignorant, with all due respect. Almost all things in the world that have happened are before our time, but that doesn't make them of any less value or relevancy. History; if we don't know where we have *been*, there is no way to know where we are *going*.
@Solitude Standing11 Cool Hand Luke
WoW!
I can't even get a new Corolla for 20k and you're telling me that a Paul Newman signed Stingray is going for less than that?! No way
Who ever painted it shouldn't have. It's cool that Newman sighed it though.
Terrible orange peel.
That paint job is rough, flaws come through on camera, gotta look rough in person. Good paint job will help the value, cool story w/ Cool Hand Luke ties
That value seems a little conservative. Even without Newmans name it’s still a valuable old car.
It would get at least 75k on Bring a Trailer. I'm sure it would go for a lot more.
My goodness girl, I’ve watched you for years and you still got it. 😂. What a beautiful car, not my flavour, I’m more a 4 door sport sedans a la Ford Taurus SHO or Chevrolet Impala SS, but it’s still a good looking car.
That kind of premium for a signature is not very realistic. He didn't own it, merely sat in it.
She has no idea what that car is worth. She called it based on its ACV without Paul Newman.
Looks like a redo on the paint and not a good job at that.
She’s crazy, easily over 60K
You're crazy.
It's not an LT-1 or a Big Block.
350/Auto Corvettes have always been the "cheap" models.
Nope.
LOL THE GUY LOOKS DISAPPOINTED, PROBABLY THOUGHT QUARTER OR HALF A MILLION
The lowest value 3rd gen Vette, (350 c.i. automatic) but elevated solely by the signature/provenance. A cute publicity gag by the people who gave it away. That said, I love the body style, I had a slot car of that body.
Who is the owner?
The guy in the video
@ .35 seconds... Boy, that paint job was TERRIBLE! Major orange peel everywhere shown. >😲
couldnt anyone have called the radio station and just say they were paul newman ?
no
Doesn't seem like something that fits the Roadshow. I hope cars don't become a regular feature, because there are tons of shows that already fill that niche. This is something I'd expect to see on Jay Leno's Garage or My Classic Car.
What is funny, if went to market, it will sell over 150k if not more ,all because of Newman. She has no idea what the value is,
Yes, Paul Newman gave away over $600 MILLION to charities, by selling salad dressing. All the profits go to charity.
Paul who?
Some guy that gave $600 million to charities.
Auto hurts. Paul Newman signed is cool but he didn't own it. I say $30k max
30-40 for a stingray? Yeah, Uhh no.
This appraiser is very annoying
She is an encyclopedia of sports, especially baseball.
So are you.
Isn’t his wife JoAnne Woodward still alive?
Yes she is.
Can I buy a car off this appraiser...my blind cat would have more of an idea
I thik the appraiser is WAYYYYYY short on her estimate. That car, in the right auction, could easily go for a million plus. Steve McQueen's "Bullit" Mustang is a classic example of that--it went for $3.74 MILLION To the right person, these vehicles are prized and sought-after--especially if it's been affiliated with a movie star/race car driver.
It wasn't Newman's car... it was the caterers... Newman just signed the dashboard👍
Did you LOOK AT the paint job? That's a "driver" not a restored car. I thought she was way high on her estimate honestly.
$65k is fair. It wasn’t owned by Newman, he just happened to sign the dash. It’s not a particularly desirable car as far as C3s go, a small block automatic isn’t a high dollar car.
@@ForsakenWar It wasn't the caterers' car. It was a car that was given away by a radio show. Mr. Newman called into the radio show and that is how the gentleman got the car.
@@Lonewolfmike the gentleman who got it WAS the caterer. That's how he got Newman to call in.
'Can you take me for a ride?'
Ummm - someone's freudian slip is showing...
How insulting. The car is hot, you are not.
He got the joke, you didn't.
@@Earthneedsado-over177 Do you find things going over your head often?
@@Itsisawnotiseen how are things in the basement?
@@Earthneedsado-over177 keep a hat handy because you clearly have a point.
@@Itsisawnotiseen PW? Were you named after your father?
500,000.00 up for the Corvette especially if Newman drove it too.
She has no clue about Corvettes. Lol.
1) a stingray is not a shark.
2) yes, the base motor was a 350, but was it an LT1?
and 3) of course is price 🙄
The concept car was called the 'Mako'. A mako is a shark.
Maybe listen to what someone says before acting superior.
You may have short term memory and cognitive issues.
MAKO Tolbert- (wanker) Perhaps actually WATCH the video before commenting your sexist whining
I believe LT-1 was not available with automatic in 1970
She referred to the Mako Shark concept car, which is where the C3 styling comes from. Technically, only the '68 C3 was badged "Stingray", C2 is "THE" Stingray. You , Chris Tolbert , don't seem to Know enough about Corvettes, to be Trolling Her.
Her estimate is laughable
just so you know, paul newman is a jew
This valuation is way off,too high
You are insignificant, and not qualified anyhow
Meh.
Machiah some of the shows rarely give you rare classic English Porsches or Aston martins and other things that are interesting rarely but usually it’s grandpas fix up with some 1950s chevrolette as classic and that put me to sleep during the government process about money…with boring information about an old car not interesting ..old cars for old people which is snoozeville.
