Hey Vincenzo! Congratulations on your son's impressive achievement and on the growth of your channel 🙂 I'll be looking forward to your trip to the Delta facilities... that sounds like a wonderful and fascinating opportunity. And thanks for the shout-out :-)
Thank you Matthew. Keep doing those great videos!
Heartfelt congratulations for your son Vincenzo!!
Happy for Nino's invitation too.
Thank you!
I love that you have matching color journals for your inks! What a great idea!
Glad you like them!
Congratulations to your son for becoming a doctor, a goal which I am sure took much hard work and dedication. I would choose the Maiora based on your description of his tastes. Very much enjoyed your video, Vincenzo.
GRAZIE!
Congratulations brother that is so awesome that Delta reached out to you. You deserve it my friend
He made me really happy. Looking forward to the visit.

Grazie
I like the last pen for your son! Simple but very classy. Thanks for this video 😊
Thanks so much! 😊
Congratulations Vincenzo! You must be a very proud father. I would choose the Delta Fountain Pen.
GRAZIE!
I love all of the unboxings! Super fun!
GRAZIE!
Congratulations on your sons accomplishment....so definitely a scholar, and I am sure a gentleman like his father as well... i would opt for the last pen as a user, and perhaps another as a keepsake....thank you all you do, just Amazing!!!
Thank you so much!
Congratulations go to you and your son who has achieved the milestone of Medical Doctor! Also congratulations on your offer to tour the Delta pen factory in Naples! That is amazing!
I have to tell you Vincenzo that your channel is such a joy to watch! You videos are incredibly well thought out, they're fun and very informative!
BTW, both Lotus PSP collab pens you reviewed are sold out now! I'm sure both companies are very pleased! I am hoping for more in the the same beautiful style, format and hardware!
Thank you so much!
Lisa
I will keep you informed if I see anything!
@@fountainpentherapy Thank you Vincenzo!
Hey I do like your new segmented format much much better this week. Keep up the great work I really look forward to your videos.
GRAZIE!
how fun !!! I've been waiting for this one !!
Thanks for sharing
Thanks for the weekly recap! I am a fellow Golden Lapis lover - it was a pleasant surprise to know it has water-resistant properties! More power to you and ypur channel. ❤
Thanks
It was no surprise that Nino Marino reached out to you. He is a class act and a treasure in the pen world. Congratulations to your son. Whatever pen you choose to honor his acievement, I would research 1 of those pens that can use cartridges, converters, or eyedropper it.
Another fun pen hunt. Stay tuned!
@@fountainpentherapy I wiil! My Delta Hippocratica is a wonderful pen even for non doctors!!!
I love pen #2 to give as a gift for your son.
Congratulations!
GRAZIE!
#4 option, Vincenzo, since he’s not so into fountain pens now, plus the clean design, and pricing. Thanks for a good episode.
Thanks for sharing
Hello Vincenzo, as parents you & your wife must be so proud of your son’s achievements on becoming a doctor & I think the Marlen or the Maiora pen but they are all a great pens 🖋️
Thanks for sharing
Congrats for your son!
GRAZIE!
Congratulations to your son Vincenzo. I think I would go with the sentimental favourite for the pen, the Delta. Not too ostentatious but unmistakably Italian, with a beautiful blue resin. But if you're not sure about a fountain pen, there are also a couple of options from England. The Conway Stewart or Onoto Doctor's Pen. Both can be used as a fountain pen or a rollerball interchangeably (at additional cost, of course). The Conway Stewart is a silver overlay pen similar to the Coronation Pen that Hemingway Jones reviewed a little while ago.
I just checked your 2 additional alternatives and both are very interesting. More food for thought.
Excellent weekly recap! As for the pen for your son's graduation, I suggest the STDupont if he doesn't want a fountain pen. Dupont's ballpoints are EXTREMELY GOOD, smooth (almost like fountain pen ink!), clean, never hard start, nor dry up. A real joy & the closest to a fountain pen ;-). Also, the Dupont you showed us seems to me extremely stylish & consistent. Please let us know your decision. Till next week, Vincenzo.
Thanks for sharing!!
Congratulations to your son (and to you and your wife) on his graduation from medical school! Vincenzo, I recommend you just trust your gut (and heart) on any gift to your son and his accomplishment. All four of the pens are wonderful - but don't let us influence your decision. I cherish my first fountain pen - a gift from one of my sons five years ago - a TWSBI ECO transparent blue that will always rest prominently on my desk at home (I never take it to work). Your son will cherish your gift as well and may not want to take it to work either for fear of damaging or losing it. It's easy to drop or lose things during a busy day in the hospital (been doctoring for 34 years and flipped a couple pens to the floor!). Always look forward to your videos. Cheers!
Thanks for sharing
I love the Faber-Castell Loom and E-Motion. I also own an Essentio and a Grip (which is a student's pen). Fun fact: Faber Castell also does health insurance in Germany and I'm insured with them. Nice recap, I like your content a lot. So authentic and sympathetic!
Grazie!
For your son - the Maiora. The other more expensive, and perhaps more ostentatious, pens may (however innocently) overtly reflect the 'upper class' stereotype of the physician. The Maiora, on the other hand, is more understated and reserved, but still perfectly suited for the task at hand. Great video with excellent segments. 😊
GRAZIE!
Love your videos! I think it's a great idea to resurrect pens in your collection and re-discover why you bought them in the first place. The Montegrappa model is the Elmo not Fortuna. Great pen!
You are the second person who tells me its an Elmo, but it was advertised as the fortuna when I bought it.
I think the Delta has to be the pick for sure! #ThePenForYourSon
tempting!
My favourite is the ST Dupont as I use the brand and it is excellent.
Thanks for sharing
Congratulations for your son's accomplishment. Another choice you may want to consider would be Montegrappa Fortuna Caduceus. Great show as always
Thanks for sharing
Congratulations to both you and your son on his graduation. You must be so proud.
There seems to be a problem with the early Admok M800. I had to go back and look at the reviews. Doug from Inkquiring Minds initially gave it a bad review too. He described the finish as "mother of toilet seat." Miss Marilyn Darling offered to trade with him and he was completely satisfied with the second version. I believe that you can tell by looking at the etched cap finial but go check his V2 of the review. The second one was a beautiful blue galaxy. I agree with his asssessment of the first one. I have nicer looking Jinhaos!
When he posted the first video I mentioned it in one of my recaps that he had ordered the wrong one and then he was gifted the galaxy.
Honestly, I think I would choose the Maiora. I like the shape and understated design and he will likely use it more in his profession being a rollerball. If you wanted to go the fountain pen route and you think he would enjoy tat as a desk pen, I would certainly go for the Delta. Congrats to your son!
GRAZIE!
Hi Vincent. I enjoyed your recap, as I often have. You beat me with your Jinhao 9013 review, as I'm still awaiting delivery of mine, so that I can compare them to my previous comparison of the 9019 and 9016. Hopefully mine will arrive this week! Regards, Norman
Coming soon!
1. Thanks for the info on those Chinese Parallel pens. I am considering a purchase...
2. Faber-Castell makes fabulous steel nibs. Their models cover a range of styles. I want the e-Motion.
Thanks for sharing
Your first pen choice (Marlin?) is the one to go with in my opinion. It is not overly gaudy and is very business like.
Thanks for sharing
The pen for your son is a tough choice. Option 4 seems like the obvious choice since he is not into fountain pens. But the Delta pen would be a sentimental favorite given your love for the brand. Also that pen is gorgeous.
Thanks for sharing
I agree that the Wet Pen is one of the best FP reviewers. So tight informative yet relaxing videos, including his search for unique inks from around the world. I’m looking forward to getting the ink he is making himself.
Good shoutout to Une Fountaine des Plumes for his detailed review of the Magna Carta. He speaks English too.
And I think Hemingway Jones’ short on authors’ pens was perhaps his best production. So well produced and informative.
I agree on all counts. The Wet pen inks are fabulous.
@@fountainpentherapy thanks. Good to know. By the time I had noticed they were sold out, so I will wait for a new batch. Not that I need more ink, but ….
Hey congratulations on your son becoming a doctor! To be perfectly Frank as a banker of nearly 25 years before retiring in a senior VP role I have to tell you I think option for is the most practical for a physician. Why you say because they have to take a lot of notes document a lot of things that maybe they have to do in writing still. In which case this is going to be far more practical than having a pan with fountain pen ink in it to use quite a bit more spearingly. Having far less practicality to it. So from that standpoint to me if I were your son the clear winner would be number four. Now on the other hand if you wanted to get me something to be able to use for say if I journal or some other special purpose or need then hey get the Delta in the fancy colored one that was the second one you looked at it was option three as I recall but in the brighter color. There you have my two cents worth as far as coming from a different profession but still having some recognition to it clearly not as much as having a doctor's degree. My degrees and accreditations were a bachelor's of science and some heavy duty licensing to do investments but nothing on the magnitude of a position. I would find the fourth option far more practical. Keep up the great work love your channel I check it about every 2 to 3 hours when I'm watching television and probably more frequently when I'm looking at videos.
Thanks for sharing and for your kind words.
I would love ST Dupont. The next one would be Maiora. That's equally great and more simplistically classic.
Thanks for sharing
First, you may have already noticed or it was mentioned, but there is something going on with the autofocus of the camera facing you. Far be it from me to tell you which pen to get, but what I can tell you is knowing that I also do not care for anything overly fancy, flashy, or ostentatious I would pick the Maiora which would fill that role & has that connection to the owner of Delta. Another wonderful recap Vincenzo. I thought about the Magna Carta but just could pull the trigger on it having experience with their Denima model! I am planning on ordering a Ranga 5. I loved the green marbled Fuliwen so much I ordered a Brown/Black model as well. Finally, the Wing Sung 630 (a 2023 model) should arrive next week. Last but not least, congratulations to your son!
That was supposed to be "couldn't pull the trigger"!!
Thanks for sharing!. I realized it after it was too late I had the camera on the wrong setting. Its been corrected. Thanks for sharing.
@@fountainpentherapy One question I previously forgot to ask, have you ever heard of the Italian Pen company Grifos?? One of the pens they made caught my eye recently and it was made with Stingray Leather AKA Galuchat. I haven't ordered one yet, but I did get a good discount on their Harlequin model pen - a beautiful multi-colored resin pen.
I really like your new format and design for your weekly updates. Good job! I especially like your pen reserection segment. I'm surprised that you let the Faber-Castel (It looks like a Loom to me) langish for so long. Faber-Castell makes wonderful writing instruments. In fact all of my grail pens are Faber-Castel, the top being the Graph von Faber-Castell Classic in sterling silver. What a beautiful pen. The Graph von Faber-Castell Bentley line is also a favorite (the design of the Jinhau 92 that you liked is inspired by the Bentley line). Doodlebud ranks the Faber-Castell E-Motion Black as one of his three favorite pens. The steel nibs on the less expensive pens are about as good as you are going to find.
I have to look into Faber Castell
Sounds like you are thinking in terms of a pen for a physician , but first my thought was a Mont Blanc 149. It is a classic. It is not as pretentious as the others and you mentioned your son liked the less orinimental pen. Or you could go with the anniversary version. In terms of the serpent pens I like the first choice. Once congrats on the delta connection. I am not surprised. That’s what happens when you rise to the top - you get noticed. You deserve it your show is the best
Certainly a great alternative. Thanks for sharing
I don’t know your son…and he might be the type that would appreciate a gift of a brand new pen, but if I were in his shoes, I would think your pride in him would be best shown if you gifted him one of your prized pens in your collection that means a lot to you. I’m sure he knows your love for your pens and probably knows at least a couple of the pens in your collection that you absolutely cherish. The gesture of you sacrificing a pen that you hold dear to your heart would show him how proud you are of all the sacrifices he has made to get to this accomplishment. Just my two cents.
Now that's a great suggestion. Will have to think about that one.
Okay, I say choice #2. Less pretentious than #1, so it would be easily used anywhere… you would like him to use it, right? And it’s just so sleek and gorgeous. So yes, if I had just become a doc, #2 would thrill me. Well, #2 would thrill me even as a patient of that doctor! 😊
LOL Thanks for sharing
Hello Vincenzo, Please tell your son that someone who admires Physicians and worked with them many years, wishes him a fulfilling medical career with high job satisfaction caring for Patients! RE: his gift. As you stated in your video, it is important to determine which he would enjoy most of the writing modes. Yes, you would like to see him enjoy a fountain pen, but, very few Docs use them in their professional life and thus reserve them for private use, i.e., not at work. A lot of Docs use clicker/push mechanism ball pens or rollerball pens due to the quick exposure of the refill. The vast majority of rollers and fountains require cap removal--a time issue when Docs are super busy. The point/counterpoint of this is...Docs today are doing electronic charting rather than the old days of manual charting, so, the use of a pen is decreased. But..once you determine the writing mode to be purchased, then your choices are clear, and then you can apply his personality, etc., to the actual pen options.
GREAT INSIGHTS. The best choice would be a retractable nib pen.
The Moonman p139 is a copy of the Montblanc Hemingway, not the Delta Dolce Vita.
You are absolutely right. Especially the nib and flat orange resin. I missed that.
I’ve been looking everywhere for the number 8 nib size version of the P139 can’t find it anywhere. Where did you find it at?
Aliexpress
The Maiora pen for your son. I wonder if it's a snap cap for convenience?
Good point.
Congratulations on the Delta communications. Appelboom and Goulet have nice videos of tours of places like Lamy. They might be nice models for your next plans. They are very informative. Congratulations on your son’s graduation. 🎓
