I LOVE horses, & Arabians are at the top! Wonderful video & I love the music from Last of the Mohicans (a movie I like). The stirring music combined with the beauty of the horse in action, made me choke up! Horses are magnificent creatures!
I watched Black Silk give birth to Black on foalcam a few years back...he was stunning at birth, and is even more stunning now that he has matured. WOW..what a stallion he has become.

Thank you. And yes, his tail was a bit skimpy at the time. Normally it is much fuller but something happened to it while he was at the trainers and he lost a lot of his tail. It is now much fuller again.
I'm glad you like him. He is a beautiful mover. I think his sire is an equally nice mover though and has definately proven himself as a sire of great moving offspring. NV Beau Bey did have a major injury to a hind leg as a youngster which does effect his movement now somewhat. In spite of it he still managed to win the Scottsdale Liberty Championship :)
Yes, of course he is a purebred registered Arabian horse. There are black horses in the desert and they do fine. Actually, even here where we live the summer temperatures are often well over 100 degrees. We have lots of black arabians and they do fine in the heat. Irene

Critic, yeah the horses coat is made to protect them from the heat as well as cold. Color doesn't matter. It's the same with dogs-people think shaving their dog makes them cooler-well it doesn't because it ruins the hair and disables it from protecting them from the heat and sun can get to their skin easier. It doesn't matter the color. Arabians were bred in the desert, so I'm sure their coat no matter what color is just perfect for keeping them from getting burned.
@annespics4u Black has two crosses to Bey Shah+. His sire is NV Beau Bey (Bey Shah+ son out of the Gdansk+ daughter Bint Miss Fire), and his dam Black Silk is by MS Rafiq (Gdansk) and out of the Bey Shah+ daughter Bey Shameh (who was an "Aristocrat Mare"). Great horse, great pedigree :)

Prices can vary greatly from a few hundred dollars to a million dollars or more. It depends on the type, quality, bloodlines, etc. of the horse and also who is selling the horse. If you buy from a big name trainer there are always big commissions added on to the price.
