பல லட்சம் வருடங்கள் க்கு முன்னாள் கண்ட நகர்வு மூலம் தமிழக நிலப்பரபில் இருந்து பிரிந்து சென்றதுதான் இலங்கை.
The dotted lines are not natural island but it’s the actual Ram Setu. Due to coral reef, the Ram Setu looks like small islands. From India you can get approval from coast guard to visit Indian side islands. You can literally walk in the middle of sea.
From srilanka side, you will not get approval, not sure why.
And Srilanka has more Ram Setu islands than India.

In Indian Ocean, there were many group of islands have 1m sea level like Maldives, Lakshadweep and Mannar group of islands. If you whole Maldives without buildings, it will form various shapes. Is it full of bridges? I am not degrading one's faith. But think scientifically. Sand dunes in a straight line doesn't mean it is a bridge. Upto certain distance around South Indian Tip, there were lot of sand dunes and islands are there.
Leaving aside science how few thousand years back documented such events and there is evidence from both the countries..even today seen by many .. beliefs beyond logical reasoning....

First of all in valmiki ramayana ravana's lanka was located in Southwest of india (about 1200 kms from mainland India) and it's termed as group of islands. Some scholars from 19th century used to say it might be referring to Maldives.
This itself debunks the so called ramar palam theory. The issue in last couple of decades is politicization of the faith by certain groups.
Srilanka believe ravan Empire sigaria fort etc.. Maldives what evidence? Let's respect others belief..

kachaitheevu was given to Sri Lanka (British Ceylon) by India (British India) Indragandhi has nothing to do with this. but we can't blame the British for this because the British defined Indian china border which china claims as their territory and during that time china was at the weakest point of their history to fight back. so we lost kachitheevu and gained territories in the north border.
In the last ice age south india and north Sri Lanka was connected by a big landmass because the sea level was more than 100 metres lower than today's sea level , after the end of the ice age when the sea level started to rise the whole landmass between the south india and north Sri Lanka was submerged by the rising sea water and the leftover rocks and sand bunds which are seen above sea level are mistakenly called as man made bridge. Again in the next ice age when the sea level falls to more than 100 metres we can easily walk from South India to srilanka by foot.

Those islands are the land left when Sri Lanka separated from India 170 million years ago. Even though the google map is not, there were boat travels. Boats going from there can see that there is a land way connecting both countries 😕

the real reason why TN fishermen getting attacked has nothing to do with fishing, in the past lot of fishermen helped LTTE with supplies from India and this was the main reason they got attacked by the SL Navy, and now Illegal Drugs coming into Sri Lanka. more than 95% of ganja and other drugs are transported thru this area from TN and Kerala. if Indian side can assure the control of drug trafficking Sri Lankan navy won't attack our fishermen.
It still has to do with fishing mate. Your fishermen bottom trawl the ocean floor which damage the marine eco system, which in turn reduce the fish harvest for our fishermen. Also at times when our fishermen and the navy confronted your fishermen, they've attacked our fishermen with knives and have rammed our fishing and naval vessels.
Big businessmen and politicians of TN know this since they're the ones who own these trawlers.
